hi,
I had unlocked my bootloader last night, today morning i came across that my earpiece is defective, i cant hear anything untill i press it hard.
I didn't knew as i was using Bluetooth since i got the phone.
What you guys think is it still under warranty? Can i go to t mobile store and ask for replacement as it still under 14 days return period.
Thanks.

My View has completely died. Just went to turn it on one day and it won't respond at all. Of course it's S-off and can't even do an
RUU. Anyone know if HTC will repair it even if it's rooted? I don't know how extensive they test completely bricked devices.

My Flyer was rooted with a custom ROM and they fixed the LCD that was out for free. It was still s-off when I got it back. Give them a call. They have a super fast repair process. Mine was an 8 month old Tech4Less refurb and they treated me like I paid full price. Be sure to post your experience.
I had this happen to me. If you have not tried this yet I suggest plugging it in for an hour or so. I was then able to boot into recovery.
Well, i have a rooted, s-offed, and rommed E3D, which is still in fully working condition except for the reason im sending it into repair.
The headphone jack doesn't output sound as well, and seems to be loose because any pair of headphones I use, the sound only comes out of right side unless I push and hold the wire in the jack.
So my question is, because I know this isn't a simple fix, and music is a major part of my life, do I have to S-on, unroot, and install the stock rom to send it into repair?
S-on, relocked and with Stock firmware+rom
Brought mine into a sprint repair center, 1 week after i had received it as a refurb, with 1.4 s-off and myns ics rom with some screen and button light issues. They looked at it and swapped it out for another refurb without saying a word. I guess i would call ahead and ask.

From everything I've seen, the official policy is that Sprint techs are not supposed to discriminate against rooted users and have been very good about following that policy. You should be fine if you just take it in, especially since it is a hardware issue.

Thanks for your replies guys! However, I'm not with Sprint, I'm with Rogers. Would the best course of action be to go S-ON, relocked, and stock rom?
The last thing I want is to end up waiting two weeks, get a repaired phone, then be charged 200 dollars for it.

Ah. You're with Rogers ...
S-on and stock would probably be a good idea.

I'll get right to it then. Thanks for the help .
Well my phone died today, rebooted and would not turn on.. held down power button, power vol dn, etc.
Sprint is ordering me a new phone. My question is, hopefully the phone will not have the latest OTA installed. Is there a way to stop the OTA when I go to activate the new phone? Hopefully it wont just install no matter what.
Thanks
It's possible that the newest version will already be put on there before you even get it.
Otherwise if it's not on there, when you get the ota, let it download and the just don't install it when it ask. Simple as that.

Make sure the sales person doesn't activate it in store, if u are going to a store to get it.

Had my Sprint HTC EV 4G LTe for 5 weeks. Rooted phone after week 1. No problems until week 5 when I had left it in my windshield mount for 2 hours in the sun. After that there were several unexpected re-boots then after executing a "Mirror" app it froze. Any attempt to reboot phone gave continuous white HTC screen with vibrate or boot loop. Bestbuy junked it out replacing the phone. New phone is now updated with new OTA update waiting for new root code... No indication that Bestbuy detected "tampered" screen with root.
Otherwise very happy with phone!

Rooted my exchanged EVO as well. Had no trouble w the exchange at best buy either, but was before ota update. The girl doing my activation didn't turn over my new phone until after all the updates had been performed when the phone is first powered on. Snatch it from them before they accept HTC update is all I'm saying.

If you get the OTA, it is not that big of a deal. You can still root using this method: http://htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-4g-l...tc-evo-4g-lte-unlock-bootloadertwrp-recovery/ Did it yesterday and it worked like a charm.

I always tell them not to accept it. Cause they won't ask of course. But like the first guy said, it may already be in there.

Yeah I dont trust them. Worst case if it comes with the new OTA I'll just do the HTCdev unlock and root. From everything I read it puts me back pretty much where I was with root and s-off.
Just pisses me off quite a few people are having the same issue the phone dies for no apparent reason.
I'm on my wifes og EVO because last night, I plugged in to charge and this morning when I woke up, phone was dead... No button combination worked and I gotta assume its a paperweight... Off to the Sprint store I go, maybe tomorrow... I just hope I don't get shafted with a newer version... Prolly will...

Thats how mine died. Plugged in to charge, and it died. Were you using the charger that came with the LTE or a different one. I was using a charger from my EVO OG. I wonder if that has something to do wih it.
R u sure the charger isn't broken and it just died from being on all nite? Try a different charger

Mine still had a 40 percent charge and was only on the charger for 5 mins. I am seeing a trend, from others that this has happened to. Most if not all were not using the charger that came with the phone.

Mine was at 50%... I was using one of the numerous HTC chargers I have, but probably not the one that came with EVO LTE. I'll have my replacement on Tuesday, just sucks it will prolly be updated... No soff is a bummer...

So long story short, my HOX+ broke and the touch screen stopped working. I rejoiced the bootloader and RUUed it but HBoot had the 'Relocked' flag... Has anybody else been in this situation and been charged?
I sent it in via their mail return service.
Thanks,

Just got mine back from repair. I didn't even take the time to re lock the bootloader or flash the stock ruu. They are going to completely disassemble your phone to determine the cause of the failure. Mine was obvious, I broke the screen. Once they determine the cause they will send you a quote or "repair" it under warranty. By repair I mean they are going to send you a new phone. Having the phone unlocked should play no factor in your case unless they determine the cause to be directly related.

Hello, i just wanted to ask some advice. I just got my htc one a little over a week ago with tmobile. When i got home the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader and install cwm recovery. Just last night i started to notice my top speaker was making horrible crackling noises and i realized the speaker was blown. What should i do about getting this fixed? I assume that no matter what I do at tmobile they will try and blame it on the bootloader being unlocked, and i am worried that htc will do the same. Has anyone had to deal with anything like this? Any adivice would be greatly appreciated.

I would unroot it and try to lock it back. I don't think it was because of you rooting it since we dont even have SOFF to begin with. I would contact HTC about it and if they noticed it argue with them that you unlocking it couldn't have possibilty done that and it was a hardware problem on their side
1 year warranty call HTC n u also have insurance on ur phone so just call HTC or return to tmbile where u got it n just don't tell them is rooted or unlocked they won't check that

HTC on the other hand and Samsung both now require to send device in first before you get a replacement sent ,they figure let them determine wether the owner is wrong right or at fault .
So HTC will see that it's been tampered with because when u relock the bootloader it will never say just locked again it will say relocked
No way around that .

I think it's *#*#3424#*#* is diagnostics program and can run speaker tests from there.
