Dead Space controlls questions - TouchPad General

I have some Dead Space controlls questions...
First of all, how do you "disarm"? If I am holding the gun, and want to open something, I always end up shooting it and wasting ammo.
How do I change weapons? For example, I walked up to a power pack and needed to use the saw on it. If I hit the button on the top right of the screen, it only shows the gun. Somehow, I managed to switch to the saw, but I don't know how...
I feel like I am missing something basic here. Any help would be appreciated!

i wasnt gonna answer cuz you can find this in the help in-game, but to put your gun away, tap the left side twice to 180-degree turn, or click the top right button and the nav indicator.
or you just tap the green circle to open, and nothing else, thats what i do

Well your sort of being unhelpful. For some reason on the touchpad disarm does not work. Walking forward to running the character should plus his weapon downside there must be a controller problem due to the screen size/aspect ratio.

i found dead space to be unplayable on touchpad. maybe the touchscreen drivers aren't as accurate as they are on some other android devices. my character turns around a lot for no reason while I'm trying to walk around. play on the g2 though. good game. going to try to map ps3 controller to touchscreen for dead space on TP.

Maybe that 16:9 status bar mod works but I'm waiting for a option to toggle that as having that ugly bar is a mono.

- graphics - well, it's not electopia for sure. it's not even mario... (made in MS Paint?)
- dpad does not look well, win 3.11 style
- lags on my HD2
- does not support multithouch on my HD2
- my characted disappeard few seconds after starting the game. And I had to put the battery out to reset it.
Sorry, this won't be the game of the year.

1st) the graphics are original sorry you dont like them and it doesnt support multi-touch
2nd) I know people with touch HD2 and there was no lag so i dont know why it lagged on yours.
3)Your charactor disappeared? or did you get killed!!
you said the screen froze and you had to reset. There is an exit button on top right corner of the screen. Did you try pressing that.
4)I find it hard to believe since i know people with touch HD2 and it worked but sorry it for some reason didnt work on yours.
I have only border of a button in right top corner, however clicking it did not help.
Perhaps because I have task manager installed in that place?
I have stock rom and improved opengl drivers installed.

Ok something make sense HD2 is way more advanced than touchpro2. And no one else has had a problem yet . I see what going on hopefully I get more feedback

Testing on an Acer/ETAN m900
Using the little Christian-Style D-Pad (seriously, is it meant to look like a cross) was pretty difficult I must say. I got about 20 meters into the level (that is, if the avatar was human sized) and killed a couple baddies before it bugged out.
The bottom ~1/3 of the screen was showing on the top, and the rest was moved down. It's the kind of thing I see on this device when something is designed for VGA or 4:3 but now 16:9.. this struck me as odd as it bailed with a message "requires 800x480 res" on the Diamond and i900.
All considered a good start IMO.

Actully the game is made for 480x800 resolution exactly. If your device isnt that exact resolution the game will not run. Its wvga resolution only no auto-scale sorry.

That was kind of my point. The M900 is a 800x480 device. It worked for a while, but then wigged out and looked like it was writing to the frame buffer the same way VGA or QVGA apps do on this handset.

[Q] Motion Sensor working in reverse?

Hi,
Whenever I try a game that uses the S2's motion sensor like Glyder or Nova 2, left and right seem to be switched. Maybe its me, but it just feels wrong when you lift the left side of your phone and your view or character goes left as well.
Does anyone know if this is configurable, because it doesn't seem to be an option within the games.

Calibrate your sensors (Settings > Display Horzontal/Gyro Calibration) and also check in-game settings?

Get glyder from the market instead of Samsung Apps. The one from Samsung doesn't work properly.
Glyder also does this on my phone. Tried calibrating, assumed it's a game glitch.

I've actually tried horizontal calibration, but nothing changes.
I'll try downloading the Glyder app from the market instead and see if that makes a difference.
For Nova you can actually set the gyro settings to 270 degrees instead of 90, but then up and down handles a bit awkward.
I'm guessing there is no solution for this yet so I'll wait for someone to release an app for this someday.

Just a quick update to say the market Glyder app is working fine.

[Q] Serious multitouch issue - most obvious in games

Bear with me here, this issue is kind of hard to describe. When I am playing a game that requires touch inputs from both hands, I often get bugs. It's most obvious in games that have controller-style overlays. As is normal, I am using my left thumb to tell a character to move right or left, and then I press the button on the right to jump. However, when I release my jump, I stop running. The screen no longer recognizes that my left thumb has been pressed down the whole time and should still be moving in the direction I am pressing. This happens in Bean's Quest, Chono'n'Cash, Delver, Gunman Clive, and any other game of this nature I have tried on my device.
I played some of these games just fine on my old Evo. Is anyone experiencing this issue? I experienced it on stock as well as several custom roms I have tried.
Turn off "Htc gestures" you'll find it in settings, display & gestures!
When the display senses three finger inputs it renders it touch inputs useless...run a multi-touch test app and you'll see.

Doesn't seem to have fixed my issue, I am still having problems with some two finger games. I will be using two fingers just fine, when I remove one finger from the display the first finger is no longer recognized even though it is still touching. I have to remove the first finger and press it again every time.
Do U have any type of lock screen installed. If so uninstall. Use only stock.

Appears that widgetlocker is the culprit! Is this issue documented or known, exactly? What causes it? Thanks so much for the help. I will surely miss widgetlocker.

I encountered this recently
It seemed to get "stuck" after using multi touch gestures in-game. Tapping the game with two fingers often "unstuck" it, but overall it was extremely frustrating.
This was on an APK not designed for the phone, though
Sorry to bring back up an old thread (is 6 days even considered old?) anyway you HAVE to disable the HTC 3 touch setting gesture because it will ignore anything more than 2 (3 will only register if you swipe up or down, but sense itself registers it, nothing else).
Just made the video below as proof (forgive my foreign accent xD):
Our screen supports (at least) 10 different points (was going to try 11 but I could not get my nose on the screen with my fingers and my girlfriend is asleep).
EDIT: Two things, one: I had widgetlocker installed while I did the above video, it caused no problems. Two: the maximum number of inputs our phones can handle is 10, incase anyone was curious.
EDIT 2: While I don't have the issue with widgetlocker it seems that it is a known problem, but you don't have to disable the lock screen altogether. Go into widgetlocker settings> advanced> retain system key guard. Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652038

Installed widget locker again. tried this, multi touch failed. Uninstalled, and back to 10.

Did you try my edit 2? The Retain System keyguard? I can assure you that I have Widgetlocker installed and I have the 10 inputs (that video was recorded with widgetlocker running).

I was wondering why all the games I played all of a sudden stopped functioning properly (in terms of touch controls... Example: MineCraft PE, moving forward and trying to look left or right - suddenly character would stop moving.)

[App Search] Theater Tech communication app, or similar?

Hello!
My issue and need for the app:
I am working the lights at the theater in my school.
In the light booth, it can be difficult to keep up with the script because the booth makes sounds quieter.
If I lose track of the script at the wrong time, I could miss crucial cues for lighting.
I need an app that allows my stage manager to click a button on her phone, and I get a pop up on my screen; or perhaps the button she clicks will light up on my screen; just something of that nature that would allow her to give me instant directions, which means these "cue notifications" would need to have a name or label. It would essentially make her my ears on stage. We would probably also use it to let me know when were going live soon, etc.
IOS availability would be super convenient, as my stage manager has an iPhone.
I've searched for something like this, I just don't know what something like this would be called.
We have a show tonight, and this would be a life saver.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Apps not resizing for "notch"

Hi All, I got my honor 10 yesterday and been happy with it so far and still exploring all the features.
As I start to transfer my apps from my old phone I noticed snapchat doesn't resize correctly with the notch along the top. So if you hide the notch, the snap chat menu still goes up so you can only see half the buttons (half on the screen, half off because the notch is blacked out.
With the notch on, you can see the buttons ok. I also noticed, if somebody has a long name or puts text along the top of their snapchat, the notch hides it. It appears to do this with the notch on or off and both in full screen mode and not.
Just wondering if anybody else has experienced it with any other apps and if there is a way round it. I personally prefer to have the notch disabled.
See picture, as you can see, the top buttons and hello message is cut off with the notch.

you should try updating the emui software, it helps with the notch (on instagram, haven't tried snapchat) using the on screen navigation buttons helps resizing as well

I am fully up to date. Upon further usage, I noticed it happens in other apps too. Instagram is actually a lot worse. It resizes length ways ok however not the correct size width ways. Most notably on stories so you can't see the first left and end right part. Looking online there's a lot of people complaining from Huawei and Samsung users (dating almost 3/4 months ago)
It appears to be an issue with the higher resolution android phones which app developers have been slow to fix. Hopefully, phone and app developers will come up with some kind of fix soon. Quite annoying as everything works flawlessly on iphones
Try changing the dpi on dev setting or play around with display view Setting for now until it get fixed
Doesn't work regardless of what combination of settings I have. Looks like there's a serious lack of compatibility with android devices at the higher resolutions. Annoying!
I have the exact same issue and I'm happy someone is discussing it, man I felt like I'm alone
I have noticed this same issue when using my Honor 10. I have not found a solution for it yet.
