[Q] Crash: The application Messaging process "com.sonyericsson.conversations" - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

[Q] Crash: The application Messaging process "com.sonyericsson.conversations"
Hi, I'm a newbie to rooting your phone and installing a rom.
I rooted my X10 phone successfully.
I installed xRecovery.
I cleared all cache, davlik and data using xRecovery.
I installed Wolfbreak V6.
My SMS text messages aren't working now. The messaging process crashes and I have to Force close:
"The application Messaging process (com.sonyericsson.conversations) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I'm on Rogers and before/after the Wolfbreak update I have baseband 71.
I've made sure my APN settings are right - I do get 3G.
I've cleared all media cache.
I've looked though other threads but no one else has this issue, any ideas?
Thank you

Fixed!
1. Go to the Market and download and install ROM Manager program.
2. Open ROM Manager
3. Click "fix permissions" and press "ok" to run it.
4. Reboot the phone.
This should also fix any issues with mms and other applications that Force Close because of permission issues.
Can someone sticky a thread on using ROM manager to fix these kinds of errors?

SOLVED: process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

SOLVED
Installed gmail and gtalk back and cleared all data/cache of google related services/apps
I removed a few files with root manager and now when I boot up I get this message the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I also cannot download apps. It hangs at “Downloading”
I did pull all the apk and odex files to my comp before removing.
Update
I reinstalled gmail and cleared data/cache for most google apps and it fixed the pop up part. I had to relogin to my google account but im still unable to download anything.
Update 2
I reinstalled gtalk and now when I start the market app I get a process com.android.vending force close error.
where can I download gTalk?
how can you reinstall gmail? I have same problem with the gcalendar.
gtalkservice
All you need is to reinstall gtalkservice.apk.
You google for it.
permanent solution
I tried all of these and it still pops up....should I just re install everything?
I know this is solved however, i'm on an Epic 4g Touch and it kept flashing these errors. It will take you forever to click ok on each one and at the same time trying to get to Menu Settings ... I just pressed power+Volume up buttons till the Galaxy logo came on and chose Factory wipe and Wipe cache..all is great now.
I simply cleared data that had anything to do with Google and that fixed it.
Clear data from Google service framework and all other Google related apps n services... if you need to remove and install restart then it should be fine...

I solvede it by removing browser sync from Settings --> Google --> Account --> Browser.
As I use Dolphin Browser as default browser, synchronization cannot recognize it.
I think mine got fixed when I disabled google sync contacts... whoever has com.google.process.gapps error persistent even after trying everything.. go to accounts > google > synch all and you'll where the error occurs just disable sync for that and it wud work.. I'll let you know if the error returns at my end.
help
i am getting "unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" whenever i "sync all" and then try to do something
i am running viperone 3.1.0 RC2
tried erasing app cache
anyone any ideas? i am currently downloading the gapps android 4.3 package should i flash that???

[Q] Can't complete downloads from Android Market

Hey, I just rooted my NC with AutoNooter 3.0. It works great except one part. When I start a download from the Android Market it tells me it will download, shows a bar that says, "Starting Download" and doesn't go any further. Other than re-booting, I haven't tried anything else except opening Google Talk, which won't authenticate. Any ideas for fix? Please be detailed (I'm a noobie and old...sorry!) Steve
I have the same problem with market download. Freeze at Starting download and google talk failed at authentication. I even installed different system but can't get it back to work. Please help!

What ROM are you guys running?
Using Honeycomb, having the same issues. Apps that are known to work on HC fail to download in the market
Try:
open Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> All --> Market
Clear cache, and then Force Close
open Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> All --> Google Services Framework
Clear data, and then Force Close
Reboot
You can also try using the Honeycomb gapps installer v2 in the development forum. This fixed all my market and google talk issues.
Thanks ecomemail. Th nook color has settings but doesn't allow for that option. It makes sense to clear this out, but...
Same problem here with auto-nootered 1.1. Freezes at "Starting download..."
Installed new market, didn't help...
I have this problem when I'm on my work's wireless. It's an authenticated network via browser login (it's our guest network). Even after logging into the network, my marketplace downloads hang on "Starting download." Once I connect to any other wifi network, my downloads complete.

Tried this fix, no luck.
Edit: I found a solution to my problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11545846&postcount=400
"To fix market download problems I force stopped Market, cleared its cache and data. Did the same for Google Framework Services. Then in ROM Manager I fixed permissions, rebooted to recovery. In recovery I formatted cache. I got the four unable to mount cache messages that others reported, but the Market works."
Try getting MarketEnabler from the Market.
On the Actual tab click save current settings.
Then click on the Settings List
Hold down on [us] T-Mobile and make a selection.
May have to reboot and then try the market again.
Hope this works.
Im having this problem on the latest CM7 rom. None of the solutions posted have helped. Any suggestions?

[Q] android market with stock rom -Force close

I have stock rom 4349 with the android market. I used the market fix using the update file. I keep getting a force close error (process com.google.process.gapps)
Does anyone know how to fix this. I had this error before so i wipe my data, user setting and did a factory reset earlier because i got this error when i did the older market install under the previous stock rom. After i did a factory reset, i did the newer market install but i get this error. Please help

[Q] Download Manager (process.android.media) stopping unexpectedly?

I rooted my Xperia x10 last night using flashtool, and then proceeded to delete unecessary apps using titanium backup. I uninstalled timescape & mediascape, as I never used them, and I don't know whether that has anything to do with the functioning of my phone now, because I can't download anything. I just keep receiving the message "sorry! download manager (process.android.media) stopped unexpectedly. please try again."
I've done a restore on my phone, with no avail. I can't even re-download Titanium to re-install what I backed up, just to see whether any of those uninstallations were the root of this problem.
What remains on my phone is as follows:
alarm
backup & restore
calculator
camera
facebook
gmail
market
messaging
phone dialer
phonebook
sim toolkit
settings
superuser
support
sync
talk
UEFA.com
Can anyone help with this?
Thankyou.
I thought there was a portion of Mediascape you need to keep.
Maybe not.
Right now you have no picture or media player do you? I would suggest getting something....that might be the issue.
That would cause an issue with any wallpaper you try and set and would prevent you from recording any video using the stock camera.

It was a pleasure to help you.
I came to this solution trying all what I found on dozens of forums. Most of them don't work. Sadly I don't remember where I found this one, to give the proper credits.
Anyway, you can press my thank button to increase my thank meter, LOL

My answer was based on my experience on a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 , with CWM 6.0.2.x (IIRC)
There was a "fix permissions" option in the advanced menu, I think you should search on Google "cwm +recovery +YourModel"
I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
Now I have a Nexus 5 with the TWRP 2.7.0.0 recovery
com.android.phone has stopped - My Solution
I've had this while showing my friend my new ROM & Recovery install.
Philz Touch had just turned itself into standard 6.0.4.5 so I re-zipped it ... WRONG!!!
First I got "Unfortunately .... com.android.phone" message, so I cleared the caches, factory reset (forgot to format system cache - but hey!) THEN reflashed the ROM (Paranoid Android 4.4.3 RC1) and the GApps (PA-Mini)
THEN I started getting "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped".
Hmmm ... So I started thinking "Media huh?"
Went into recovery and mounted the SDCard0 and SDCard1.
Aaannd ... she's working again.
Of course, now I'm waiting while all my Apps reload (Good old Google Sync :good: ), then Contacts etc.
But at least I got the damn thing back to working. :fingers-crossed:
Moral of the story "Don't mess with it if it ain't broke!"
p.s.
Someone who knows what they're doing will probably post a simpler method ...
