Does anyone have a modded stock email app that will bypass exchange security requirements such as that found on the galaxy s2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117452&highlight=email+security
Modding the app is quite easy and only takes a couple of minutes
What I would really like to find is the Email app that supports Client Certificates like my S2 does
This email app is really becoming a problem I'm able to sync my email with my Wifi at home and via 3G, but at work i keep getting security errors etc. Can someone assist with an APK guide on how to remove the default Samsung mail.apk and only run the exchange one?

I'm not sure what error your running into.
But my university exchange account didn't work with touchwiz email, it worked fine after using the aosp app. That and touchwiz widgets are ugly beyond words.
Here is how I managed it, i was quite surprise it worked to be honest:

I could be wrong, but the instructions in Bluemotion's link seem to be how to restore the stock HC email and calendar apps. What we're looking for is a modded version of the app that removes/ignores any security restrictions set by the exchange server.

You are right. I am looking for a modded version to ignore the security restrictions. The one for the Galaxy S2 works great.
I actually purchased an app for my s2. I paid $2 for Enhanced Email and it ignores all the security stuff. They have since raised the price to $10. I use it on my Tab, but it's not tablet optimized - though he is working on one with a tablet layout.

Thanks. I quite like the Samsung app, so will try and persever with this. I have got it working great on the S2 so it can't be too difficult on the Tab 10.1...

Hi all!
So I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.0 and its my first tab. I have a HTC Desire cellphone, so android isn't completely unknown for me.
Even though I do have a few questions, maybe you guys can help me with.
1)
I have seen many screenshots where people have different background for each screen. One homepage, one called music to the left and maybe one called games to the right (just examples). And it look really awsome, how do I get it to mine?
2) It says it can have different email clients synchronized, but I cant get my yahoo mail to cooperate with it - I have no idea why. When I try to add another mail than Gmail (which I dont use) then it wont accept it. I did wrote to Samsung but they have no explanation or what so ever.
I'm a new user and cant post any outside links. I found the guide at a site called androidspot - how to setting yahoo mail on samsung galaxy tab.
3) generel tips! I really love my tab and think it is a great machine and can, in some place, be a substitute for a laptop. And that is what it is. I do have the feeling I dont really use all its function or just half of them.
Hope you guys can help me
And btw, I'm from Europe therefore there maybe be som function I cant use, like Move Hub (Damn! This one would be awsome to have!).

I can only answer your first Q:
Get this App --> https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture
Maybe you should try to get an OTA update from Samsung to solve your mail problem.
Otherwise flash a newer ROM.
BTW: Good choice for the tablet ;-)

To get that app, should I get into the app store or should I go through your link, with my tab? I actually had no idea we were able to download direct from the internet, thought we had to go through the app store?
What is an OTA update? I recently updated the tab, so I suppose I have what we call touchwiz at the moment? I have heard the word "honeycomb", is that another OS or same thing as touchwiz?
According to this site you need to upgrade to a Yahoo! Mail Plus account.
Or try this

You can use the stock email app using these settings. I will post a video on my blog showing step by step soon.

opening this link on your tab will result in a question if you would like to open this like with the browser or the market, choose market.
OTA means Over The Air. but therefore you need to have setup an account at samsung. can be done under settings - about phone (or something - last option).

I just transitioned my google plus account over to my google apps and now I can't use the google plus app on my phone. It just says "The server encountered an error. There was a problem communicating with the server. Please try again later."
Yet, I can access my google plus account fine on my computer, and I can sign in with my regular gmail account.
Anybody else using google plus with google apps notice this issue?

The Google Plus 2.0 version for ice cream sandwich was released some weeks ago...
Try this:
1) Uninstall de current version of Google + App on your phone.
2) Download the official release (attached in this post)
(The .apk file name is PlusOne.apk, but is the 2.0 version actually, dont worry about)
3) Copy to SD on your phone
4) Install the app...
5) Open the app and select your Google Apps account
6) Ta daaaa!!! =) Enyoy!

Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.
Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.
No need for the heavy-handed language, orb.

I have a really rough version working. Actually kinda surprised how fast it loads and renders rather complex PDF.
While it can render PDF very well, the app itself is very rough(it's only 2 hours old), I will work on this as I have time, but it may be a while before I can release it especially given how slow Samsung is in approving these things and I have other apps that will be high priority to me.
I'll see if I can do a quick clean up and post a video sometime this week.
I am interested in seeing that video.

I'm waiting for samsung to approve my first app. Once that goes through and I know how long these things take and whether this app might get rejected, then I will submit.
This app is very similar to the video app I have already submitted. I just don't want to fight 2 apps when I don't know how the process works.

For the Gear and Gear 2, you could install uncertified apps so long as the app didn't require any permissions(Like file system), that's why I made a version that just worked of a hardcoded file name because I need filesystem permissions to do the lookup. Apparently however that has been "Fixed" in the gear S
So only certified apps can be installed
Too bad as this works fine on the othee 2 gears.
So my video player app finally made it through, I will start the arduous process for the PDF viewer tomorrow. Minimum turn around time seems to be about a week.
App has been submitted to Samsung, we'll see how long it takes to get approved

Bypass Exchange for Nexus Lollipop OS:5.0.2.
Tested on my Nexus 6. Reported working on Nexus 5.
new: add 3rd party ROM support (like Blisspop)
add Microsoft Outlook app support
Tips:
1. Please remove your exchange account first.
2. Please activate device admin for mail client in order to proceed, it won't affect anything if everything goes well.
3. Make sure your Xposed works on Lollipop.
Any feedback, please reply to this thread, and if this works on other phones, please also reply on this thread or email me to let me know.

working fine on Xperia M Resurrection Remix 5.0.2
Running 5.0.2 on my Xperia M, installed Xposed Framework just now. Not sure if it's working but see this post which shows screenshot of the xposed app.
Looks like it's an issue with Xposed for my cell and not this app.
UPDATE: Flashed a different custom ROM, Resurrection Remix 5.0.2. now both Xposed acc this exchange security bypass works like a charm. Thanks OP, was missing this ever since I moved on from kitkat. I don't like using third part mail apps like mailwise.
When you set up exchange mail it asks you to accept the server security settings, click accept. It will not set any settings but your mail will start working. Earlier I got disheartened, thought the app isn't working, so clicked Decline. Read somewhere below that it's supposed to be like this. Hit Accept ?
Is working fine for me on nexus 5. Thanks so much for this. Really missed this since upgrading to lollipop.

How I know it works? When I set up my exchange account on my Nexus 5.0.2 (paranoid) I was asked to grant access to my work server.
Thanks.
Not working for me, nexus 5 current cataclysm ROM.
Works for me - Liquidsmooth ROM (5.0.1), Nexus 5. Thanks! Was the one thing I was waiting for to move to Lollipop.
Not working for me - I'm assuming this module targets GMail right? I have my exchange account setup in GMail and the module isn't working. Followed the steps indicated in the OP. Thanks!
EDIT: This actually is working for me, I was thrown off because it still requires you to approve Gmail as a device administrator. Looking at lockscreen security, for example, I can change it to anything including None and Swipe, options which are normally disabled without this module (the Exchange server's permissions are bypassed). Maybe in the future it will be able to disable it as a device administrator, but functionally the module is great.

Will this work with the Microsoft Outlook app? Or is it Gmail specific? The outlook app just updated today to enforce security profiles, and become admin on the phone etc. I haven't ever tried xposed, but if it's supposed to work then I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the hard work anyways!

I don't think there is. Nor, as far as I know a tweak that could fool the Office for Tablet apps into thinking the screen is a different size (which would be more legal than the former).
As I am deeply committed to MS Office at both home and work, I frankly found the subscription worth it to have it on my tablet. That is not to say that I'm an apologist for a stupid policy and if I had paid full freight for a desktop non-subscription version and couldn't use the tablet apps, I would have been a bit pissed. However, because I didn't, I am happy with the subscription.
The thing is, if you don't like this setup, there are plenty of good office apps out there, both free and for one-time pay, that will work fine with MS Office files, so you aren't stuck with this. I recommend Softmaker's Textmaker HD which is pricy ($9) but it is a one time payment and it is very feature rich.

Hi,
I had the exact same problem (need for school) and I found a workaround .There is an Xposed module that I found a longtime ago that tricks the system into thinking that it is smaller than 10 inches. More specifically it was designed for smartphone to use tablet layouts, and so tricked the system into thinking it was 7inches (so smaller than 10').
I dont have the tablet with me right now but I'm 90% sure it is this one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/27-tabletmetrics-report-screen-7-v2-2-t2596603
It works well and without any problem on my side for the whole MS office package (worked on lollipop and marshmallow).

Never was able to make it work with this module, somehow MS Office still asks for a subscription no matter what DPI I choose.
But since I got rid of my Bluetooth Keyboard, I don't see much use for an full office in my tablet anyway.
Google Docs is a nice alternative for viewing and basic editing.
OfficeSuite has more options than MS Office but is very choppy while scrolling.

Try to wipe all data of MS apps. That would be the logical thing to do in my opinion. Then restart and try again.
Just a reminder in case : you need working Xposed framework, module installed on the tab and activated, and tab rebooted.
In case #2, the version that I use and works for me in attachment (I take no responsibility for any damage).
thanks...ill try to clear chace and remove old files.
its rooted and coustom rom.
clear cache and then download ms office.( one by one,wd,ex,pp) and then do the login with my account.
or 1st without my acount...
let us pray....
