I checked the forums, have the basic idea, how to do it, but most information is for gingerbread and/or AT&T,BELL,ORANGE.
I don't want to brick my phone, so my questions are:
1. Do I have to unlock the sim card?
2. To unlock the bootloader would it be enough to follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261 ?
3. After unlocking the bootloader to install Cyanogen just follow this? https://code.google.com/p/atrix-dev-team/wiki/BackupRestore
If I missed a step, please correct me. Thanks.

1. Doesn't matter, it isn't connect to unlocking bootloader and installing CM7.
2. Yes.

1. The only reason to sim unlock is if you want to use the phone on a dif carrier than the one you bought the phone from.

Sorry about I opened a new thread for this question.
I'm not a noob', but I'd read a lot of threads to find the answer and now I'm totally confused. Too many different information in different threads.
I have an Orange UK Atrix.
OTA updated. The actual firmware: 4.4.20 Android 2.2.2 Baseband: 01.95.0
SL UNLOCKED, Bootloader LOCKED.
Rooted (with Gingerbreak).
Atrix 4G Recovery GOAPK.com V2.5.1.8 installed.
• How can I upgrade it to Gingerbread? How?
• Do I need to unlock the Bootloader? If yes, how?
• I'd read many times: "only for ATT". Is there any hardware or bootloader difference between the ATT Atrix and the Orange GB one?
I would be appreciate for any usable answer.

You need to unlock with PUDDING. Updating with a leaked GB OTA without PUDDING has been hard bricking phones when reverting back to older stock builds via SBF RSD flashing methods. I don't know if this applies for international builds though. Just do plenty of research before proceeding.

I need help with the atrix. Mine is unlocked and running cyan pre beta build 2 and I love it. But my friend is a noob and has updated via ota and never unlocked. How would I go about unlocking device.I know we can't go back to 1.8.3. So step by step how would I do it.

1. Once I unlocked bootloader of my Atrix, does it possible to bring it back ?
2. Does root unlock my bootloader ? (How to root ? please show me the easiest way )
3. Can I install custom rom without unlock bootloader ?

I have a Korean version of the Atrix flashed with greyblur. I want to flash Darkside ROM on here but to do that, I would need to unlock my bootloader. Seeing as my version is a little different from the options given by the automatic bootloader, I went ahead and checked if I could flash on of the firmwares found here. Problem is, I don't know which of these I should flash to get 1.83 to FINALLY unlock the bootloader. Can anyone point me to the right firmware? I would be eternally grateful...

Hi Guys,
This is a extremely noob question so all the help will be appreciated. I bought a second hand Atrix. I am not sure if its 4G or simple.
Can any1 tell me which is the most stable ROM out there for Atrix (incl. Finger Print Reader Driver , as that's a must). And a step by step guide to flashing it coz i only used to S2 (my other phone.)
Just for info this is T-Mobile MB860, firmware 2.2.2. If there is anything such as locked this isn't coz i am using it in another country.
