I don't know if this is what you're looking for but you could just install a gingerbread launcher from the market. It will then have the stock look you like. For example: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.moo.android.launcher.gingerbread
I have no idea if it's compatible with our device or not but if it's not I know their are others out there.

ok, so how do i get to look like froyo?
-Get a custom rom
or
-Root then change some framework res in the files
or
-WidgetLocker app
but wasnt that suppose to come with the update?
I'm pretty sure TouchWiz is a T-Mobile theme basically, that's why you need a custom ROM to get the real Froyo look.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Surprised they don't have stock lock screen, my galaxy tab has the stock froyo lock screen but came with tw home

No, you need to root....simplest way:
Google z4root, put it on your phone and run it.
Then flash ClockWork Recovery
Download KA7 deodexed, install
does this rom hav any bugs or issues?

Probably, but it is the leak straight from Samsung, just deodexed, nothing else.

Probably better than KA6 though. Consider KA6 2.2 and KA7 2.2.0.1 or 2.2.1, some things are probably better than the stock KA6

All the US Galaxy S phones run touchwiz.

Is it possible to port the Galaxy S II lockscreen to the Vibrant?
http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-user-interface/#4094191
Yes it is.
Edit: Hit thanks.

With time I'd imagine alot of the gs2 stuff will start to be compatible with our phones. Just wait out a bit longer and see how everything plays out.
It's not the lockscreen but theirs the modded launcher in the development section. Check that out.

Can't seem to find the modded launcher. Where is it?

Theirs one under Private Stock on the second post. It also includes icons so make sure you read first to insure compatibility with your ROM.
Theirs also one on the i9k theme section, but theirs force closes on me personally.

This would be great!
I heard the sgs2 got a leaked touchwiz ics rom. I was wondering if anybody can pull the touchwiz launcher apk from system/app and post it. I have the sgs2 framework (I think) or a possible port of tw4? Thanks bros

Why can't you do it ?
You know where it is and where it has to go...

and fyi this is not touchwiz 5
The files are ODIN flashable and when I put them into Zip's i dont find anything.
And excuse me then, i was mistaken. I thought it was tw 5
TW5 will be saved for the next top end Samsung android phone most likely SGS3 if it's not a Tizen phone.
Im running AOKP M6 and I want to know if I can get the stock lockscreen that comes with the galaxy note. Like the lockscreen thats on the S3. Is there a apk or something?
Not easily. That lock screen is a part of touchwiz, so it would take massive coding work to get it to work on aosp based ROMs, something likely not to happen.

Contrary to the previous reply, it should work just fine.
Here's where to download it (thanks to Black Star): http://beta.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390077933525140988

My bad if that works...usually touchwiz elements are a no-go on aosp ROMs.
Edit: I'm not on my Note so I can't try that zip, but it likely will still only work on touchwiz based ROMs, as black star is touchwiz based not aosp based. You can still try but don't get your hopes up. Might be a good idea to make a nandroid in case of a trip to bootloop city. If it does work, great, if not, you're gonna want a backup.

do i just flash this in cwr?
Does anyone know where we can find a recovery image for the Nexus Experience S4? Any theories as to whether this ROM will work properly on the Verizon S4?
It sounds like it will have the stability/features of touchwiz with all the goodness of AOSP...

Its just going to be the same as nexus 4 but in the galaxy s4.
As for roms there wont be any until the firmware is released and ported to the Regular S4

The nexus experience rom, which i havent found yet, wouldn't work on your phone. It is configured for gsm s4's and yours still needs to have CDMA backwards compatibility for when there is no LTE or you want to place a call. You can install an AOSP based ROM, but as far as i know, they are all still nightlies. If you do not want to sacrifice stability, then google "stock android lifehacker" and follow all their instructions to make your rom more like stock (sorry i cant add links just yet).
My advice for a google experience on your S4 is quite simple.
1. Install custom launcher like Nova or Apex
2. Download and Install an AOSP or Nexus 4 style theme.
3. Done.
Then all that is needed is for you to remove all the bloatware apps and your good to go.

nvm, I just looked at the post CM10.1 and it looks like invisiblek managed to fix all of the known bugs/issues with the rom...
maybe they used Google Edition sources to do this? I'm not really sure, but it looks awesome!
