Battery life for 2.3.5 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey i know its been disscussed but it is ambiguous about the reason for the rapid battery drain of 2.3.5. I was on it for a day and hot maybe 10 hours total...light use. I switched back to 2.3.4 on the galaxy s2 and battery life returned to normal. What changed from the two to suck battery so much?

Check out the Platform Highlights and Platform Details on the Android Developer Site. Googling can find you articles about gingerbread, or explicitly comparing the two.

Still there are plenty of ppl who puts Q&A in general. So I was just emphasizing it.
Better memory management and better battery life in 2.3. Better looking UI and faster too!

Oh enough already about where the post should be... and actually, part of the description for "general" is "general q&a", look it up. And this question sounds pretty general, how about giving him some answers.

Does anyone here remember the good old days of not needing / wanting any of this fancy stuff.. back when a phone was a phone not a computer

useless thread is useless. That kind of post belongs on Twitter or FB.. or in the General Off-Topic thread.

I remember the WinMo days when mods would get rid of such useless threads...
Wait a minute, that gives me an idea....

[Q} Battery charging

I've started having battery charging problems for the last few days. Phone plugged in all night and only charged to 59%, it's done this twice now. Today I changed to a different cable which I know worked with the phone before and it says charging, but it's not going very quickly, left plugged in for a few hours and managed to get up 20%
Is there an app or a way to see what my phone is charging at?
I've read about the issues with charging the S3 and they mention the different powers that it charges at and I want to check with my cables.
I'm running CM10.1
Thanks

I did search and that didn't come up (another thread did though which didn't help)
I thought I had posted in Q&A but obviously didn't
But thanks for your short but quite helpful post

(Urgent) Hang

Hey guys, I couldn't find any thread or post of this matter.... So, my brother has a S3 I9300 and was running 4.1.2 version.... He has experienced lots of hangs/freeze until the home button does not respond... He have to pull out the battery and put it back so that the phone can turn on.... So, anyone can help me with it???

Look in general section for ultimate freezing thread.
Its s result of sds fix - look in general for sticky sds thread

Thanks.... But I'm kinda confused.... Haha

So there's a bug called sds. Sudden Death Syndrome. It wipes the internal memory including android to the point the phone is dead and needs motherboard replacement.
Samsung released a fix for this in 4.1.2 - see the important sds thread "are you covered" created by me. Its stuck at the top of the general forum. It tells you how to identify if you're affected.
If you are, and you're using an older 4.1.2, the side affects are long freezes and hangs.
The newer 4.1.2s with version 2 fix are much better. There is another thread in general called "ultimate freezing thread" or something which may contain methods that temporarily relieve freezing.
First things first, read my thread and find out if the device is affected. If it is, compare the device version of android against tgr ones in that thread to see which version of the fix it has. Then take it from there
