Has Anyone got TegraZone games to play on ANY ROM for the G tablet?
I'm running Fruit Ninja THD, Samurai 2: Vengence, and Dungeon Defenders: First Wave all on my gTab which is running VEGAn 5.1.1 without any hacks or mods beyond the rom itself.
They all run fine here..running Calkulin rom....no tweeks/hacks needed.
Good to know. Thanks much guys.
I wonder if any Ginger ROMs can run them. I would guess not without hardware acceleration though.

They all work fine on TNTLite 4.40. No hacks needed.
somebody help me, I can't download any games from tegra zone (not even free ones), it says "the requested item could not be found". I'm running vegan tab 5.1 beta. Is there any ways to fix it like we did with the android market

They run fine. Hardware acceleration only applies to videos. Not 3D rendering.

BS.

Got more to back up that "BS" opinion? Has anyone complained of poor play on CM7 or Vegan Ginger? The games play fine for me on CM7.0.3.
Are you having trouble getting them to show up in the Market? Because that's a different question.
@spammhead
For myself and a friend (3 tablets - one from Sears, one from electroniccrap.com, and one from Woot!) we found that in Hero of Sparta, Hawx, Quadrant tests, and a few other games - the ones mentioned stand out the most in my memory, would not display all textures is maps unless we were running a FroYo build with full acceleration. I think Sandstorm was another that had trouble.

Riptide GP and Bang Bang Racing THD both work perfectly for me on CM 7.0.3.

While I would have put it more diplomatically you are correct. While 3D games "work" on GB roms they do not have the same visual texture as when running on one of the popular FroYo roms. I have two gTabs one running VEGAn 5.1.1 and the other running CyanogenMod 7.0.3. They both have their uses.
I noticed no change in 3d textures on games like Dungeon Defenders and Samurai II when moving from 2.2 to 2.3 (CM7, nightly 85). The only issues were with the videos for Dungeon Defenders, but those are all resolved now. Riptide runs perfectly and looks just like it does in Youtube videos I've seen of it, so I'm not sure what you're talking about as far as different visual textures. I think the only hardware acceleration that's missing is in high def videos, but OC'd at 1.4, software does everything I can throw at it fine in Moboplayer.
EDIT: Added a screenshot from Riptide. Does it look different than it does on 2.2? Please post a screenshot from the same map (Twister) so I can compare.
EDIT again: Added more screenshots. Samurai II, Pinball HD, Dungeon Defenders. I want to note that in all these games, I was more interested in taking the screenshot than I was in playing. I don't suck *that* bad.
OK, so you may be missing some fine texturing, but gameplay is not affected enough to merit a warning against buying the game to play on Gingerbread.

If I'm missing texturing, I'm not seeing it. Otherwise, with the currently nightly of CM7, the video issues (like the opening video in Dungeon Defenders) that appear in Vegan Ginger aren't present, so yeah, I think it's fair to say that the "Ginger isn't good for games" factor is wrong.
The only thing that drives me nuts about CM7 right now is the boot times.
after having played many tegra games on froyo and gbread, I have never noticed texture differences or anything else. the latest libraries in cm7 and aosp work wonderfully for everything I have tried.
Tegra Zone loaded and Dungeon Defender works on (gasp) stock 3588.
Hi to all. Guys, what about tegra games on Honeycomb? On my G Tablet with [ROM][BL1.1] GtabComb alpha1.6 for Bootloader 1.1 Gtablet these games didnt work. When I tried install any tergra games I get error.
Any ideas?
P.S. Sorry for my English, I am from Russia.
"Tiger Lab" DS emulator seems just like a proof of concept, but I wonder if anyone's tried it with SGS2 ? It's off the market obviously but maybe someone has the apk and can give it a shot?
Any hope for the future?

The SGS 2 should be able to emulate PSP games with it's power doubt it will because of the fact that theres no emulators, but i'm 100% sure it's powerful enough to emulate the DS.
Try NDS4Droid....
Works brilliantly..

When i use NDS4Droid the games run just as slow as on my old SGS so how did u manage to make it work *brilliantly*?
Powerful enough? The ds is nowhere near 1200 mhz (times two). The ds is running at about two times 125mhz. If I recall correctly!

Hi J.2K4V,
It looks like performance varies depending on game, can I ask what you've run which works at full speed?
Also development on the emulator seems dead, can you confirm you've not had any problems since you bought the emulator?

Emulation isn't clock-for-clock. You can't simply compare the clock speeds- on the phone you'll have to emulate the DS system and that takes a huge toll in performance.
The PS2 is clocked at 299MHz yet my i7-965 at 4GHz and Radeon 5970 desktop can just sorta run GT4 smoothly. On my iMac [i7-860 (3.46GHz) and Mobility 4850] it lags like a mofo.
OP- tried Mario Kart on the Tiger Lab DS emu. ~10fps in the menus and 1fps in-game. (so much for being 100% sure it's powerful enough eh? )
Going to buy/test nds4droid now...
Even Pokemon lags like hell on NDS4Droid
For speed issues it's mostly the emulator that isn't programmed well, wait for updates, the phone should be powerfull enough

Has anyone gained speed with overclocking? cfr tegrak

I see i had and old version 1.2.
Updated to 1.3 and still Mario Kart runs very slow ingame, menus and stuff is alot faster then SGS ofc. Still runs way to slow ingame.
Might be i only have slow games then, tried following:
Mario Kart = slow
New Super Mario Bros = slow
Smiley World Island Challenge = slow
Lego Star Wars 3 = slow
Im sure its will get better if its developement continues and it gets optimized better.
Tried Yoshi´s Island, looks like it works with normal speed.
So maby people could post wich games they can run with normal speed on current version of Nds4droid?
Still think the emulator needs alot of work before its viable for use.
No customization avalible and controls is abit small and hard to press correctly
It would be great if the emulator was optimized for dual core ^^
Mario Kart on nds4droid is about the same as the tiger labs emulator (1fps in game). It's probably better with 2D games though.

so I wanted to try that sprinkle game, but there's no download link in the market under the game. So I tried dling the tegra app and half the games I go to click on don't have a download link?
anyone else with issues? the only thing I can think of is my build prop is modified, but some tegra games show up like the Riptide GP I was able to install and download
you on honeycomb? its a 3.0 and up game.
works fine on mine running flashback
I was having the same problem with sprinkle. I wonder if they will run on froyo at all? Im on brilliant corners because I want the hardware acceleration. Maybe I should try a HC rom to buy it then back it up and go back to BC and try it.
Hello, can maybe some one post some videos on how FPse performance with GS3?

I've seen that, nice video.
I've tested it. Originally it ran at 256 fps, so I had to turn on vsync to cap it at 60 fps.
Runs super smooth here

I've been having a tinker with FPse myself.
Running version 0.11.24.
Using Final Fantasy 9 as a test ISO, it runs amazingly well in "software" mode, if you turn off frame limiting the area's I checked were running at 250+fps.
I didn't notice any bugs either. but graphically, the game looks horrible, pixelated and blurry.
Now, there's an openGL plugin for FPse, which makes it look fantastic, much better then software mode. but it's choppy and buggy. Not unplayable mind you, (40 - 100 fps) but it can dip to 20 at some scenes.
Now the worst part is, currently the OpenGL plugin does not support the MALI400 GPU in the S3. If you try to directly run an ISO using the pluggin, it will not load on the S3, just shows a black screen.
there is a "trick" to load a game using the plugin though, but I wont bother getting into detail.
The dev is reportedly soon going to release fpse 0.11.27, which will allow the openGL plugin to run on a MALI400 GPU.
Check out the thread on fpsece.net.
also @NZtechfreak.
thats an N64 emu, not FPse.

Try actually watching the video before commenting, I show FPse also. Sorry, but I think I know what I'm talking about here.
In the video I run Tekken 3 just with the software GPU plugin and it runs fine, will try it out with my other games and see, but certainly Tekken 3 has no issue so it isn't universal that it doesn't work (its running 32-bit rendering with anti-aliasing on in the video at 60fps). Apparently the 0.11.27 version coming out any day will have a major revision to make things work better with the Mali too.
Thank you for all your replies more confident about buying S3 just reading the post about signal issues...
I tried it and it runs well in software mode.
I have managed to play with the Open GL plugin (Einhander and Grandia), the graphics are very very good and the frame rate is ok.
But as dark_day says, you have to do a very anoying trick (with Tekhen3) to play.
Also I didn't manage to play with the iControlPad and the OpenGL plugin whereas it works well in software mode.
My only problem in software mode, if someone has an answer : I didn't manage to play in 4:3. Even when I select original screen size it's still in 16:9.
Hello all,
What can you tell me about Chainfire3D for the TP? Is it worth getting the PRO? Also - I've read on other forums that you can get plugins for it. Which ones would you recommend for the TP?
Mainly want to run emulators on it as best as I can.
Thanks

What's it used for mainly then? Can you make the games run quicker? I've overclocked it to 1.8ghz using CPU Master but thats all I've done.
Seems the SNES emulator seems a little choppy.##
EDIT - What do all 3 plugins do? I've got them installed, just unsure which one to use when.

Thanks for your help

Tegra plugin allow you to play tegra games on non tegra device e.g touchpad
I don't know I am happy with free version
Frankly, no offense, but if you have no idea what it does (which is sad, because research about it is so easy its not even funny), you don't need it. Best advice, stop messing with it before you have bigger problems to worry about...
Of course if the OP hasnt taken the time to look up on these things then he shouldn't be messing.
A suggestion on a SNES emulator, you could try Snes9x just Google it that works well

Thanks for the replies.
After doing a bit of reading about it, some thing are clearer now.
Got FPse off the market place, running really well, apart from the SELECT button don't seem to function but the rest of the buttons are fine. Any suggestions?
SNesoid is still running a little choppy, even with playing with Chainfire3D and installing the Qualcomm pluggin. I will give snes9x a go.
Are there any settings in ;
N64oid
FPse
To make games run better or shall I just stick to default?
Thanks again
