Ok i thought i had this solved by flashing the newest sbf but nope. Here is the list, almost every morning i wake up these things are not workin on the phone:
Ringer sound ( phone is not in silent mode and volume is up all the way but no sound)
Notification sounds ( same as ringer, and when i try to change the sounds, when i am selecting from the options, none of the new sounds work either)
Camera ( force crashes)
Cam corder ( only able to shoot in vga mode, when i go to setting, the options for hd recording and widescreen photos are simply gone)
Mp3 do not work, phone says ir does not recognize the format
Vidoes dont playback, phone says it does not recognize the format
Alarm is silent, only vibrates
I can make calls, now a restart fixes this, but its simply annoying especially when my alarm rings and it silent
That would be annoying. Have you backtracked through installed apps to get an idea what may have happened or caused it? Flashing over existing problems won't do much.
Personally I'd just hard reset and be done with it.
How do you do a hard reset? Is it the same a factory reset?

Ya thru android recovery or settings, and should data on internal sd be deleted?

Try without wiping the card first; a simple reset should fix any runaway apps. If that doesn't work, wipe the card. You have nothing to lose at that point.
Make sure you back up anything important to you that might be stored on there though.
but isnt flashing a full sbf thru RSD lite the same thing? thats what i did before
I also thought the SBF wiped everything off the internal SD card? But I could be wrong.

It does not. It simply compares and overwrites as needed. I update via SBF and haven't lost my apps or media files. I do lose my system settings.
If you want, you can manually wipe the /data and /system partition and the SBF will restore everything.

I have problem with my atrix regarding full wiping..when i wipe data, cache, dalvic when flashing new rom ( which are the typical things to do) , i noticed everything is new on my atrix like i need skip blur or login on it, no more installed apps on my atrix, need to input again email add for market to work...everything looks reset but ehen i check on my internal memory everything is still there, like movies i put, songs, downloaded apk via other apk source aside from market...i dont know if this is normal with atrix and i dont know if i should be happy cause i dont have to go to all the process of connecting to computers and putting everything again on my atrix.. becausr before i remember on my galaxy tab when i full wipe everything is removed even on my internal memory...tried via cwm wipe both the rom manager and tenfars oh i even used fastboot -w but still getting same result...hope you could answer if this is just normal with atrix... thank in advance
This is normal.
I use TiBu to restore apps quickly and save settings for everything like ADW so I just have to restore then set my screens and widgets back up.

I am running BAMF gingerbread and for some reason, my lockscreen does not appear whenever i wake my phone up. I tried running other gingerbread roms and the same problem happened. I always wipe the phone plus the cache.
Why isn't my lockscreen showing up?
I have kinda that prob when I reboot my CM7 rom while plugged in.

Do you think its a problem with gingerbread roms or just my phone?
You checked all the settings? Tablet tweaks? For cm7 its under tablet tweaks but Idk if your rom has that.
Yes I checked all the settings, nothing about a lockscreen option.
Hmm I will check out some info. You can always download a lockscreen app if it doesn't get resolved.
It works sometimes and then sometimes it doesn't, I don't get it. Thank you for the help man, appreciate it.
Not a problem. I would try booting to recovery and wiping cache. Then reboot. See if that works. You can reflash rom and clear cache/delvik cache if you need. Good luck. Hope it is resolved.
I've wiped all the cache and the data. The last rom I was running had this problem, and the one before that it would sometimes not come up but not as bad as this.
I have no idea what the problem could be.
I realize you said that you wipe data and cache before installing but are you by any chance restoring any system data with TitaniumBackup? Restoring some system related stuff (red or green. I think it's the green Settings Storage one but I haven't looked into it personally.) has been known to cause issues such as the lockscreen, home and search keys not working.

Nope, I don't even have titaniumbackup on my phone.
it is a gingerbread problem, you can either reflash your rom to get it back or use a car dock to unlock it and change your lockscreen the change it back,if it is not there use rootexplorer to copy it from the rom to your system/apps folder set permissions reboot then change it back, just happens that the lock screen disappears never got an answer as to why but that is how I have fixed it everytime

So I had a bizarre crash and now continuous rebooting. Let me explain what happened:
A friend messages me on Facebook to tell me his new number. It is highlighted so I click it and the dialer promptly opens and shows the number, and I highlight his number so I can paste it into his contact. When I click the copy button, the phone hangs, and shortly reboots.
I don't worry, these occasional crashes aren't unheard of. But when the phone reboots, it loads up a few widgets and my background before rebooting again. And you can see where this is going.
I figure I glitches some cache so I use vol up, power and home and wipe the cache. I think that fixed it, as I get about a minute then it goes again, and back we go to shorter times.
I'm at a loss to how this has happened. Any quick ideas? I'd like to avoid a factory wipe if I can avoid it.
Update and bump
So, it only occurs when I have my SD card installed???
Anybody know anything about this?
formatting sd card and factory reset helps ...
Trying to avoid factory reset - already used odin to reflash and it did nothing besides ruin my carefully preserved root which I have now restored.
Now I'm exploring whether some weird app has installed to SD card and is playing weird, whilst I scan the SD card for problems.
I did find other threads talking about this issue in ICS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446961&page=9
but we shall see...
At this point, I'm sure that Factory and SD wipe would probably work, but I'm now as curious WHY it's happening, perhaps to help others later.
actually its happening with more posts tht i seen ,is wiv ppl using app2sd an movd all apps to sd...the prblm dosnt come if the apps r left were it is instead of moving...
I had the same problem after installing the insecure kernel.my cell started restarting.
Than I flashed a different kernel provided by chainfire. Bingo issue resolved ;-)

Why not use TB to backup all your apps & data then do a factory wipe/reset. Copy your SD card to your PC then format it. Reinstall TB then all your apps & data.

My appologies for this post. Probably this problem is being dealt before on this forum but cant seem to find a solution to mine.
hi, i have a samsung s3 32gb (original stock unrooted).
Problem my space was running low on my s3. And while shooting a video, the space ran out and the phone froze. then i tried to end the video but obviously the screen was frozen.
After that i tried to reboot the phone but it came to the home screen, and couldnt press anything. (i only can drag the top bar down and that's it, it doesnt come back up).
i tried soft reset, didnt work. i tried to boot in safe mode, it doesnt work (it get stuck at the samsung logo). download and recovery mode works fine.
when i connect it to the pc, in device manager i get under Portable Devices (MTP USB device with a yellow triangle and ! mark). obviously KIES doesnt recognise anything connected.
After reading lot of posts, i installed 'android-sdk' and ran 'adb.exe' in cmd.
adb devices shows my device ; i can see all the directories on my phone.
when i try to copy, move or delete any files from the phone to my pc to empty the phone storage, i get this message "device not found".
i dont wanna lose my pics and videos +data (no backup). ANY HELP GUYS???

Try clearing cache and dalvik. If it doesn't work, u might have to factory reset which deletes ur data. Since android-sdk doesn't work anymore and kies too. There is no way to back up ur data. Ur only hope is tat clearing cache and dalvik works.

pictures and videos are stored on the internal sdcard, so they are save even if you decide to wipe your data.
you will only lose your app data and settings
but try first the suggestion from the post above

if you are referring to clearing the cache that is in the recovery mode. i already cleared the cache and still same thing happening.
can you explain 'dalvik' ? what to do step by step if possible
Also you mentioned that android-sdk is not working, (it is true ) but how come i can still see all my phone contents ?

if you are referring to the factory reset inside the "settings" menu in the phone, i think it would be true (the pics & videos wont be affected)
but if you are referring to the reset in the recovery mode. i think that will format everything including my personal data (pics & videos) and return the phone to a factory state (which is how it was new). isnt the OS and data are on the internal sdcard as well ?
Their comments refer to a custom recovery, e.g Philz, where you can clear dalvik and also mount your storage for usb access.
I think you have bigger problems, the phone should not have frozen as you describe and you many have partition corruption.
There are step by step guides on how to install custom recovery in general forum, stickies. It will invalidate your warranty, which might not be a good idea if you need a new motherboard.

The factory reset on recovery will not delete ur pics or videos.
