Install Facebook 1.5.2 it doesn't need GPS to work. Its an old version but atleast you won't need an extra app or the ugly icon in ur status bar.

x1 freaking billion. Wtf, take TWO seconds and search people!!
I did search. I used the "search this forum" at the top. Two results came up, this thread and another just like it, without any information on how to make it work. I'm not going to search for hours in detailed advanced searches and read every post in an "issues" thread. If the search cannot find it, then I ask about making it work.
Certainly no-one held a gun to your head and made you come in here to read it.....
Just use the website. It works great as it actually is more usable thanks to its tablet formatting.
The newest version of the facebook app for Android looks like the old one for the iPhone right?
If you look in Development there is one that has a nicer icon.

Yup, the icon just messes up the look of the TP. :|
Why would u want to use the FB app when u can just use the actual website which is much better than any of the apps

This isn't honeycomb, judging from the lock screen, the menus, and the small gap between the bottom bar and the bottom.
Still, it IS android, most likely the Chomper version, and pretty cool.

don't mislead people, this is not honeycomb... a fact before anything else.
This is just the android ipk launcher (Screen tears happen on that) with a launcher...probably go launcher by the looks of things.

Guys this is the honeycomb launcher made by IntelSoft Apps.....not a honeycomb build. It looks exactly the same on any phone or tablet. Thats why colors are off, and the gap between the bottom and status bar. Notice that if you click on an app inside of it, the status bar is no longer there. Dont believe me, then try it out for yourself.

It's cool, man. I'll explain.
I have been making a Mod of Chomper's Android ipk that is much larger img file, and has gapps, and uses a Honeycomb Launcher to give it a more "tablety" feel to it. As a teaser, I posted a very obvious troll vid that shows what appeared to be REAL Honeycomb on the Touchpad. Most people realized that it wasn't true, others thought it was a joke, and some people mailed me severed heads and shot my dog. Either way, I have EXPOSED the truth now, and everyone can rest easy knowing that I am working on something legitimate and not just an ass.
Well, I'm still an ass, but I have something worthwhile to contribute too!
So I couldn't find a solution to my problem, when I receive a picture it shows as a video. I'm running unnamed. Is there a mod or something to fix this?

the only real fix to this is to use a different SMS/MMS app. i prefer GOSMS Pro, over anything else.
its just the way the stock messaging app works, only way around it is through a third party app.
Go SMS Pro is much better then the stock sms/mms app
Holy crap! I just answered this very same question in another thread maybe 5 threads above this. How many times is this going to be asked? I'm too lazy to check which thread was first and I will admit that the XDA search feature is a bit annoying to use, but for FFS! Now I see why the older members are always *****ing.
That said, I will add substance to this post. I just switched to Go SMS Pro this morning and have to second the suggestion for it. It has been working fine for MMS and they come across just as expected.

Ugh, another one of these threads? Thats what the search button is there for. The stock messaging app from Samsung uses the video viewer to view all multimedia, so that includes pictures. If you want pictures to come up in the gallery, I suggest you replace the Samsung MMS.apk with the AOSP MMS.apk.
Also, calling people a **** for telling you what to do or look for (while it may not be the answer that you were looking for) is not the way to get anything around here... and it will get you an infraction/ban if kept up.

Please give me some of what you're smoking brother! Go launcher and go sms are god awful! To each their own though. Hey, as long as you like it I'm happy. I'm just not a fan. I prefer adwEX myself and sometimes launcher pro. I do feel like go launcher is a bit of a resources hog but idk.

I'm having the same issue. I don't need go store anyway. I wish I could disable or hide that thing.
Have tried reinstalling, wiping app data. Nothing seems to prevent the go store from restarting the phone. Not even sure what causes it.
Go launcher is eye candy. But there go store is crap. Handscent is way better then go sms

The OP (and I) are interested in if anybody else has this issue and if there is a known solution to it.
I hid the go store link in the app drawer, so that helps avoid it for the most part. There is still a link in launcher UI, but its hidden away enough I don't trigger it normally.
But yeah, a fix would be great.

Because the whole point of the XDA forums is to have community feedback. And I reported this bug via the bug reporting link in the launcher UI, but it certainly doesn't hurt to see if other users have this problem and if they found some workaround/fix on their own.
In fact, that's what a lot of threads on XDA are about. Community problem solving. If you have a problem with that, XDA isn't for you.

Your name is multi dev yet you haven't developed anything lol. Wouldn't a "multi dev" be able to fix it himself? I'm just asking. So far only 3 people have reported this go launcher problem on photon and that clearly isn't the "community" right? And yes my intelligence is definitely superior I'm Kenny powers. Anyway, got a reply back from Go people. They are looking into it. Not sure if that is a generic response or not, but I gave them the my ROM information and what not. Also said that jokers ROM doesn't have the issue.

I've had the same issue as well. I use Go launcher and ADWex and they BOTH have their strengths and weaknesses. And kenny, while I appreciate some of your contributions to the community, you do come across in this thread as, let's just say, less than helpful. The OP asked a legitimate question about a very popular launcher and regardless what you personally feel about it, you should try to be as helpful as possible. Anyone can say "DELETE IT BECAUSE IT SUCKS", but the reason we visit these forums is to share our interests and help people or to get help ourselves. Not to be mean, but I can honestly say out of the 100+ people I know that use go launcher none of them have had this issue... it sounds like you have something installed conflicting with go launcher..

I used to use Google voice a lot for voicemail but once I figured out its integration with SMS, it got really annoying. I didnt want it saving all my text messages in its system and having to delete them every week while going through my voicemails. I even went through all the settings, but was only able to either dissable all SMS on the phone, or let it handle the Texts so I deleted the app until they fix that.

To be completely honest, I don't know. I use it every day when I get into the office. My phone goes in the dock and connects to WiFi. I run the program and open the browser, login, and I'm good to go. I can listen to my music from my phone, read/answer text messages, look at pictures, install apps. The only thing I wish it did was emulation of your phone, but it's not necessary. Give it a shot, you'll be glad you did.
What your asking is exactly what Google Voice does. I have it and it's pretty great. On sprint it's integrated so you can even make your number the GVoice number so no problems there. I would suggest that.

I already have it up and running but I am having trouble with the network. Keeps giving me an error every time I try to send a text. Other than that, the App seems very solid. Can't wait to find out everything it does.

Like I said, I used it as well but I hated the fact that it was all my text messages and they would not delete after deleting from my phone. But the main reason I didn't like it is that it would sync together with the voice mails so I would have to dig through all the text to find the voice mails.
Speaking of Google voice, any one know of an alternative?
I am rooted with MIUI but voice mail doesn't seem to work on it.
What do you guys suggest?

I still don't understand why people act that way. If your not a moderator, then don't say anything. Its not your job unless you want to give someone a heads up, but don't kill the guy. Its not like I go on the forum and say, today I am going to post in the wrong section on purpose to piss people off. Either way, if posting in the wrong section bothers you to the extent that you have to ***** the other guy out, you spend too much time in front of the computer. Go outside and get some fresh air. Hahaha, can't... I work in front of a computer for 8 hours a day.
+1 for google voice - one thing I love about GV is a program called GV notifier by Dave Amenta (google it), it runs on desktop like yahoo messenger, google talk etc...anyways, makes it so easy to text people throughout the day while working.

Is there any way I can have this program run from a USB drive? Plug it in, run, and then remove it after I leave that computer? Don't want to waste time installing.

A: Yes, copy the application files from the GVNotifier install loction. Create a blank text file named settings.xml in the same directory as GVNotifier.net.exe. GVNotifier will then store all preferences and cached contact photos in the same directory.
