I upgraded my 2.2 version to the Honeycomb 3.2 version. The icons are too small and I cannot find a way to enlarge my widgets/apps to fit the screen. Does anyone know how to do that?
If not,
how can I downgrade the software to 3.1 or back to the original? Thank you!!
You should probably ask the folks in the Streak 7 forum. This one is for the 5 inch variety which is a totally different beast.

BOTH of your questions have been answered in the Streak 7 forum so many times it gives me a headache but since you didn't even look far enough to get to the right forum I doubt you'll find the answers any time soon

Recently I am going through almost all the post regarding Dell streak. And at Madaco there was this newbie who claimed to have 2.1 on his streak ( now that sound funny), a newbie with 2.1 lol anyways I think almost everyone including some senior members may I include Paul as well have given him hard time .Finally every one asked him to post the pictures of his streak and guess what he posted his dell streak.
Everyone’s jaws are still on floor
Here is the link http://android.modaco.com/content/d...-2-1-for-streak-is-coming-closer-than-before/
Sorry for being sarcastic
Edit Just checked it this guy even said i have Built 6267 1.6, he put pics of that as well
http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-streak-streak-modaco-com/314140/new-rom-v-6267/
I think this guy is 2 steps ahead from all of us or may be 3 people who are still on 3xxxx
He said he has a friend who is working on the Streak development team. Seems pretty legit to me.
Don't count on him leaking it though as he "doesn't want to ruin his friends career", which is pretty good of him tbh. I don't think i'd have that level of self control

Considering the Dell Streak Development team consists of about 8 people, don't you think it would be Dell's priority to see which dev's friend is leaking images? They did say they are active on websites concerning the Streak.
I wouldn't have that level of self control. Release it please!

That is the great thing about HTC their images leak on purpose.... Dell is not handling this well at all, but what choice do we have for a 5" device?
Dell Streak "UI Team" has 8 people. His contact could be someone from one of many, many people working on the Streak.
why do the only allow six icons on 2.1
Creating system.img for 2.1, is it possible?
Is it possible to create a system.img based on 2.1 or 2.2 from android sources for Dell Streak? Has anybody tried it? I don't need the Google propietary parts, just to OSS part...
Has anybody tried? Any reference docs for it?
Thanks in advance,

I'm trying it now again, now I'm back..
I'm trying the codearoura git, basic instructions on their site..
https://www.codeaurora.org/xwiki/bin/QAEP/
also have a look at the cyanogenmod wiki for some decent building instructions, that can be adapted.
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Building_from_source
plus theres this
http://pdk.android.com/online-pdk/guide/build_system.html
so far not playing nicely, and progress is hampered because I can't get fastboot boot to work (which is a way of temporarily flashing a kernel and ramdisk) so I have to manually flash the boot.img every time it doesnt boot.

My X10a is already a Rooted R2BA026, just wondering if I can upgrade to 2.1 too.
If so, can anyone link me to a page for D/L or give me a tutorial?

Don't be lazy and SEARCH. It's posts like this that highlight there should be post restrictions for new members!
Thanks XperiaX10iUser
Just upgraded to 2.1 and realised its completely different
May I ask whether 2.1 or old 1.6 R2BA026 is better?

Well I'm sorry, I'm only new to this place, you could be a little less obnoxious with your answers.
And I wouldn't mind if you could give me a straight answer, I've looked around the forum and I've also rooted my X10 and upgraded to 2.1 and back again, its not like I've been lazy with it.
I'm doing my best to learn, best you can do is be helpful and not snobby, its called constructive criticism.

2.1 is an upgrade to 1.6, so it would most likely be better. Although, some people have not been liking it so much for some reason (lag, and sh*t like that). You should try it out for a week.. If you don't like it, you can always go back to 1.6.
But with 2.1, there are many more applications for you to enjoy on the market!
I would advice to stay with 2.1
The lag one experiences is only initial and within a day or two maximum the OS settles nicely and performs great. Many apps like LauncherPro, PowerAMP etc. are 2+ only so that's another incentive in favor of 2.1.
Additionally, you could implement JIT on it and squeeze 2x the CPU performance from it. Many apps benefit from it -- just let it do it's thing if you do implement it and don't be alarmed if it feels laggy [which it will] for a little while after that as it's rebuilding the caches. And be a tad careful with the amount of widgets and running apps you have with it simply because it'll directly impact performance. JIT memory requirements [pure RAM requirements] are high and it'll lag and/or restart if you put too many widgets on the homescreens or let too many unused apps run in the background.
The phone certainly feels faster with JIT, so that's definitely another [imo, big] incentive to enable JIT. Ultimately, it's up to you.
I've also been trying to upgrade to 2.1 but no success so far. Need some help. Pl read the details in the thread below:

What you mean is a Dual boot?
It may be possible since both are different OS systems.
But that may require cracking the boot loader.

Being a completly new OS what we've waited months for thanks to SE tinkering with it, again, what else did you expect, it to be no different to 1.6? Asking questions is one thing, asking questions with obvious answers is another.

Yes, but obviously you need to have rooted it, the few that you can get from here don't come rooted if that's what you were thinking/asking.
Oh ok thanks XperiaX10iUser, guess thats it, thanks to eveyone that replied, you guys really helped
Okay...I may be really bad at using the search function or the answer to my question isnt here.
I have a tablet that is running froyo. It isnt upgradable. I am looking for some help with the WWF app as the letters on the bottom of the screen cover up the bottom of the game board. Is there any way to fix this, or any version that will work on a froyo tablet?
I'll also add that I would even settle for a version where the gameboard is much smaller.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!!
Ok... Am I posting this thread in the right place?
This issue is really bothering me and I can't figure it out. I just installed the same apk an my wife's tablet (7 in widescreen Kyros) and it looks great. Mine is a LePan with 4:3 screen. Is there nothing I can do to get this to look right on my tablet?
Is there a better forum for me to start this thread where it will get more views?
Hi,
I've looked around the forums and haven't found an answer to that. I'm a complete noob concerning Android phones, so sorry if my question is silly (or already has an answer somewhere).
It's quite simple : I wanna buy a Huawei Boulder 8350 for my girlfriend. It's got almost the perfect offer for her as it seems to be very good for its price tag.
I just wanna know : is it possible to install newer Android versions on it ? It is advertised as a Froyo 2.2 phone, but it would be cool to put Gingerbread or even a newer droid version on it.
If yes, is it doable via a simple update on the phone or does it have to be "hacked" or something ?
Thank you very much.
Please ? Anyone ?

Hello nitwo,
For the moment, there is no new version of Android for this cell.
Some people have noticed that the u8350 is sold under the name of "Express from Sprint" with a gingerbread 2.3 version. But sprint is using CDMA and in europe we're using GSM. Maybe a port is possible.
Also, officialy there is no Android 2.3 for this cell, and some websites are reporting that we're never going to see an official 2.3.
Maybe, we're going to have a 2.3 version, but not officially. But, we need to wait for the community ...
Btw, for 45euros in france (with Bouygue cash back), this is a pretty nice phone.
Any news ?
Hi, I'm a noob and need some help. I have purchased a Fusion5 Xtra from Amazon. It's a 10.1 screen, but it thinks it's a 7 inch. It looks as though the android software is for a phone not a tablet. Can anyone help with a ROM and instructions on putting a correct Android operating system on it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Is there anyone who can help

Just bumping this. Is there anyone who can help. I'm finding this so difficult to use now. could really do with some one to help please.
Is your the 4.2 kit kat version? as this theone i own.what is the problem? if you are looking for ROMs there's none I know about, but it can be rooted. But if your screen size might be wrong,go into display settings and you can change it.
