can any one helo me with this?
i have a samsung galaxy s2 from bell it was flashed with xxki3 package that included a bootloader pda phone and csc files. i want to return my phone to the stock bell files ugkg2 but the firmware i downloaded does not have a bootloader just the pda phone and csc files.
am i right to assume that the bootloader that came with the xxki3 firmware even after i flash the ugkg2 firmware remains on my phone thats why whin i flash to it the phone wont boot?
i am a noob but my understand is there is check points in the bootloader and the firmware of xxki3 that must match up and if they dont meaning u change the firmware and not the bootloader and the phone wont load? is this correct?
also is the bootloader from xxki3 secure? meaning it cant be changed?
how do i find the ugkg2 bootloader to flash with the ugkg2 firmware?
or how do i unsecured the xxki3 bootloader so i can flash back to the ugkg2
sorry for the noob questions but i have been searching for about a week now to be able to get off this xxki3 firmware so i can load a coustom rom
PLEASE HELP!!

hi to everyone.
i have bought a jig for flash a stock rom to go with phone at the warranty.
i tried to download the default rom for my country and network (roumania - orange)
and I can't do that via fus download.
anyone can help me to get this default rom?
also some guide about how to flash it via jig is welcomed. I just need to insert the jig and start the phone, the phone will start in download mode. Here I need to flash the stock rom with odin? that's all?
please help me with default rom.
edit: at about phone i can find these details:
baseband version i9100xxke4
kernel version: 2.6.35.7-i9100xwke7-cl21525
build number gingerbread.xwke7
edit: i've found something here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
on the orange section from roumania. it's ok if i flash that rom?
edit: i need to flash a stock kernel too?
Are you using the latest version of the Fus Download app (v1.2)? I've just had a look, and under the GT-I9100 phone there's definitely an option for Romania (Orange). The phone model is listed as GT-I9100LKAORO. The latest firmware version appears to be BVKE2/OROKE2/BVKE2, and was last modified on 12th May.
I haven't tried to actually download the firmware, but in theory it should work just fine. The firmware is downloaded from the same servers that Kies uses.
You don't need to use the jig to flash a stock firmware. The only thing the jig will do for you is make it easy to get into download mode on the phone, which is the mode the phone has to be in for Odin to work. Turn off your phone, insert the jig, and it should automatically boot straight into download mode.
Once you've got the firmware files on your computer (you need the TAR file inside the ZIP file that Fus Downloader gives you), and your phone is in download mode and connected via USB, the rest is easy. Click on the PDA button, select the TAR file, and start.
p.s. I don't know what ROM you have currently, but XWKE7/XXKE4 is a generic European firmware, not an Orange Romania firmware. If this is what came on the phone, are you sure you're doing the right thing by flashing the Orange firmware?
Hi Guys,
I need to upgrade the firmware and root my device. just to make sure im following the right track here. My device info:
PDA: I9100XWKE7
PHONE: I9100XXKE4
CSC: I9100VNZKE2
FirstI flash the firmware using Odin with the corresponding generic firmware file (in this case XWKE7 Generic XEU) - to get rid of the Bloatware
Second I start rooting process by either:
a) run Odin with insecure kernel in my case GT-I9100_KE7_insecure.tar.md5 (do i delete the .md5 extension here?) and after i use SuperOneClick to root
Or:
b) run Odin with a rooted Kernel CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE7-v4.0-CWM4.tar
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Finally after either of the methods above i have to run Odin to flash the phone again with stock kernel (I9100XWKE7_Kernel.tar) - to get rid of the yellow triangle. (do i lose root access here?)
Can someone please confirm if i've got this process correctly? And with method B i dont have to use SuperOneClick?
Forget about SuperOne Click, it's not needed.
You have mentioned correct steps, flashing the KE7 kernel via Odin, flash back the Stock kernel, and then you need to flash the zImage of the rooted KE7 kernel via CWM which is already installed in your device. Before flashing the stock kernel just copy the zImage to you SD card.
Regards.
Thanks for the clarification.
Im still a little unclear about the last step on flashing the zImage of the rooted ke7 kernel. - what exactly do i flash it with?
how do i get the Zimage file from the device? is this after i run CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE7-v4.0-CWM4.tar with odin - are there instructions on this.
I havent got an SD card.
is anyone able to elaborate please?
Hello everybody,
I got problem with reverting my SGS2 to stock ROM.
Recently I bought used SGS2 with this ROM flashed:
http://www.dialandroid.com/2011/09/install-android-235-i9100xxki3-on.html
I want to put VIPNet ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
When I flashed VIPNet ROM with Odin everything went OK in Odin but phone is stuck on screen with SGS2 logo (static one, not animated) and after some time lot of text scrolls on screen that basicly says "E:failed to mount" and "E:can't mount".
I guess that problem is that original owner flashed ROM with PIT file and repartition option so now when I flash original ROM it can't mount partition.
My question is how to repartition partition for stock ROM and what PIT file should I use?
Sorry for my English.
Thank you.
Don't use a PIT file.
Most FAQ that relate to stock roms or rooting, will make it pretty clear you don't touch PIT section on theses phones unless you want to pretty much brick your device. So please just read!
I found the best way to return to stock for me was
Flash cf-root via download mode
Format system/data/cache/dalvik mounts
Flash stock rom using odin + download mode
Take .pit file from samfirmware ,.but be careful. Only use 3parts firmware NEVER firmware with only one part. The means for newest stock firmware use XXKI3 with.pit file and then flash XWKJ3.
I have also problem with reverting to stock rom. I have check rom and i want to put back to VIPnet stock but when i start flashing over odin it stuck on installing factoryfs.img. What should I do to?
Do a complete wipe of your phone before flashing.First root with cf-root.Then boot to recovery and wipe cache patition, dalvik cache, format system, format data, format battery and factory reset.Boot your phone. It will not go past boot logo so after 1min pull battery put it back in and boot into download mode and flash via Odin.
now it stucks on cache.img, please help I'm going crazy.
Use Fus Downloader 2.1 and download the latest stock ROM.
You do not need a PIT file, since it has a built in Sbl.bin file.
It automatically does a repartition when used with ODIN.
Before flashing, remove battery from phone.
Thank you everybody.
I used LiFE1688 solution and everything went fine, so big thanks to you.
There is one more thing I am not sure about, information in about phone is like this:
- Android version: 2.3.5
- Baseband version: I9100BUKI1
- Kernal version: 2.6.35.7-I9100BUKJ3-CL647431 [email protected] #2
- Build number: GINGERBREAD.BUKJ3
Is that realy stock kernal version?
Is my phone still rooted? How to check?
I have to take it to service so it can not be rooted.
Thanks

Thats fine. Some stock kernels come like that.It doesnt mean that you are still rooted. You just now need to make sure you have a clean binary counter so they cant see you have been flashing.
Thank you
What a stupid name for stock kernal
that's interesting, I found tutorial on another forum, where .PIT file use was marked as necessary, I flashed 3-files stock then 1 file with .PIT provided by that forum and everything went smoothly, phone is working
so I did something wrong, it's so confusing for a newbie, what problems can I have in the future after flashing with .PIT file?
Odin doesn't work
Odin detects my phone but not able to write anything. It just gets stuck.
Hello, i have one piece galaxy II i9100 with following specs:
Android Version: 2.3.5
Baseband: i9100XXKI4
PDA: XWKJ1
Gingerbread XWKJ1
I then flashed this piece with ODIN v.185 with pit file and arabic file i9100JPKF3 (2.3.3), now when i turn on the piece i get recovery screen with errror (E: Failed to mount) in red and cannot go to main screen. I tried factory set, boot etc still same problem...help please
Put phone into download mode (volume down + home + power) and flash your official firmware found from Intratech thread with Odin.
Do NOT use PIT or repartition ! ! Follow his instructions exactly.
If you can't get phone into download mode, try a "Samsung USB jig" found on Ebay for around $2

First of all, you'll ant to get your phone to a working state before worrying about anything else........

Flash the firmware and kernel with "PDA" only checked via Odin. NO RE-PARTITION !!

Flash the above CSC Arabic package "CSC" in Odin same time as kernel "PDA".
Edit2: With flashing a different CSC to that of your Product Code, future updates may not be recognised by KIES. Yoy can try KIES without USB debugging enabled though.
Follow Intratech's Guide Exactly.................
Note: This is official firmware, with no root. There is a slighlty faster way, just by flashing alternative firmware with CSC contained, but my links above is what you asked for

Guess what everyone, repaired my phone, flashed with I9100XWKJ1_OJVKJ3_TUR_Android_2.3.5...phone is ok now but i didnt flash kernel, is itok?...also dont want arabic, dont want to take a chance
Glad it worked out! Not sure about the kernel.... But if your product code is wrong, I don't think you'll get OTA updates, you might need it for correct product code. Could be wrong though.
Just hit the "thanks" when you've got the time. Cheers

E:/ Failed to mount
Hi all,
I have a Galaxy S2 international version.
Now that it is struck in saying
E:\ failed to mount \System
E:\ failed to mount \Cache
and I tried to install all the firmwares
but still the problem persists.
Can someone help me
I have so many times flashed my phone with different ROMs like MIUI, Android ver 2.3.6, 4.03. etc.
Just now I have flashed using odin CF Root Kernel. Then I have used USB JIG for resetting binary counter. Now my boot logo change, I want to make as original. How can I?
Do you mean you want the original boot logo/animation you had with your original stock rom ?
If so, you need to flash the original stock firmware that was on your phone. Might want to head over to Sammobile.com to find your original firmware & then flash it in Odin following whatever instructions Sammobile have for flashing firmware downloaded from their site.
If you mean/are asking something else, please clarify what that is
