Can we get a up-to-date kernel for GB ROMs? I know we have Bullet, Simply Honey's Talon kernel & some other one but they're not stable enough. I dont know if Simone is still trying to fix the problem with the Talon kernel. We need a good enough kernel for the Vibrant community.

Well the only problem with that is, we don't have a gingerbread source code for the vibrant to build any truly stable kernals. All the devs can do is tweak what they have to the vibrant.

Hey went from a vibrant to sgs 4g so I don't keep up anymore and just checked out the fourms again and saw the huge variety of roms and stuff was just wondering what's the best up to date/stable combo there is right now

depends on what you are looking for, whether you are on clockwork, cyno, etc...
Do you mean clockworkmod? What's cyno? I am currently using clockworkmod

I can't wait til MIUI has working GPS ... I had it on for a couple weeks and loved it more than any rom out there. Kernel - meh.
Try Revolution Rom RC1.1, it is really stable, it is GB 2.3.4, GPS works, and the kernel is bullet by cmenard.

none of these roms are really gonna work well on the sgs4g, that said i know krylon mentioned a way to port vibrant roms to the sgs4g i believe there should be a thread in the sgs4g section
I'm thinking of flashing my phone with bionix-v, but was wondering which kernel I should use. On the Team Whiskey's official bionix-v page they have four compatible kernels to use. But my question is what does each of them really specialize in or do?
¤Here's the four kernels:
OverStock v1.3 by cmenard
DoW14 v1.1.1 by Morfic
Dragon v5.0 TEST1 by Ttabbal
Categorically Worthless by s0niqu3

I recommend Cmenards bullet kernel. There the best for speed and battery life.

Personally if you're not planning on OCing my preference is always CwK(keep in mind that it is no longer supported by s0niqu3). If you do plan to OC my first choice is always TB.
- DOW was the first OC kernel flashed for me and I never really had any issues with it.
- Overstock is proven and stable, included in many ROMs as stock kernel and most people prefer it to others, just personal preference really. Good luck!
DOW and overstock are both great, but keep in mind that while bionix lists tthose as the compatible kernels, you can use several other kernels, those are just tthe ones they recommend.
Also keep in mind that that post is very old so there are plenty of great New kernels

When I ran Bionix, I used Overstock. I'm always a fan of cmenard's work, and that kernel ran great.

Bullet. No question about it.
Bullet is great, you can also check out the new bali-x oc/uv capable. Have fun test em out i swear i switched kernels every 2weeks but i always get stuck on bullet kernels..just pure speed

Overstock is not bad but its dated.

I am about to update my sister phone 2.1 to 2.2 but decide to just root it and flash a custom rom. What would be the best stable rom for it? She really just needs GPS working. Thanks
All the 2.2 roms pretty much the same stability-wise. It will just be a matter of personal preference to be honest. I like ZenDroid.
Bionix 1.3.1 with overstock kernel

Hi everyone. Quick question. What ROm is the most stable for now for Samsung Vibrant. Thank you!
Most stable? Probably bionix 1.3.1 or CM7(911 issues with cm though.)
Ics roms are quite stable for me, minor bugs here and there.

Updated CM7/9 kangs have fixed 911.
So are they going to start officially supporting the vibrant now that 911 issues has been resolved?

That's a hard question to answer at this point in time. Almost every rom is stable for the Vibrant. The question is, what are you looking for in a rom?
Are you looking for customization? Then you'll want to look into roms like Miui. Do you want great battery life? Then you'll want to look into roms like Deranged 9 or Bionix. Are you that kind of person who "has to have the latest and greatest"? Then you may want to check out roms like Passion. There are hundreds of roms to choose from! If you can narrow down your preferences then it will be very easy to point you in the direction of roms you'll like...
I vote bionix great battery

Out of the ICS ROMs, which has the best battery life and has working 911? I don't care about GPS.
Bionix

My vote would be passion if you don't mind the mute and unmute bug

Put my wifes TB on skyraider zeus (Bamf). The stock kernel seems a bit laggy with very poor battery life. I have been looking for a solid OC kernel, but it seems as if any of the links I find are dead.
Can someone please help me out with some options to run with this Rom, suggestions and/or links?
thank you in advance.
Me personally I would use imoseyon lean kernel. By far the best kernel for the t bolt. I can give you a link. Remind me what sense version that rom is.
