[Q] Flashed Biffmod ROM and BLN didn't install? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just flashed the biffmod rom which comes included with the BLN and voodoo sound/color mods etc. For some reason the BLN mod didn't come over with the install. Went to run the app and it says Not Installed. Should I back up and reinstall or should I just install a different kernel with the BLN mod installed.
Thanks.

The "type" of bln included with that rom/kernel is not nelders bln module which is what the bln app requires. You can try looking into the glitch kernel for proper bln module to work with that app. But on a side note that rom is pretty old and there are newer rom options that are maintained to current mtd fixes and os changes.
good day.

You got a link for newer modded cm7 roms for the fascinate. The roms that the xda thread have are all old assumingly.

Not a developer but it changes the system to ext4.
Not sure if that answers the question.

I'd even go as far as including the kernal in the ROM if youd like, it seems like the best at this point with voodoo, oc, and uc. That is if I can get permission from the dev.

It takes the latest stock rom, deodexed, zipaligned, and themed with AOSP applications thrown in with icons, and adw launcher. It also includes a few extras like wireless tether and mobile ap, and more. The themeing is in the picture, it's a work in progress though.

Nope, but if bloatware is what you prefer I always include a flashable to gain it back, also useful for official updates.

That's exactly what I do. So it seems you guys are interested now I'm going to need a system dump and some testers, since I don't own the Fascinate.

hey dev most of us prefer launcherpro so could u make the stock launcher launcherpro instead of adw? I think adw is really slow.

Dark Revenge v4

I'm interested in Dark Revenge 4 but there is only one rom. Is it voodoo compatable? And how will it compare to sc2.9?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Yes, there is a voodoo kernel available to be used in conjunction with DarkRevenge v4. I flashed it yesterday, but for some reason the email.apk included with it would not work at all, even though i wiped data/cache/dalvik before flashing. Not sure if it's specific to my phone, or is a more universal problem. If you flash it, I'd be curious to know how email works for you.
i use DR v4 as my daily ROM
running DR v4 voodoo - jt 04-08 kernel voodoo - launcher pro plus
email works GREAT
i have no problems with the ROM
i have been running it for about 4-weeks as daily drive (on pre-release team)
SC 2.9.x was going thru issues when i first tried DV v2 and have never switched back
now i am just waiting for ec01 ROM (team) release

Kernel

Is there any kernel out there that works and allows overclock. running clean ROM 2.2 I've tried the showdown flashed and phone just kept rebooting ..thank u in advance
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Nope. Clean ROM 2.2 is android 2.3.4 and there are NO over clocking kernels for it. The reason is that we need the source code for it and HTC did not release it yet.
Try the Viper Rom. I am very happy with it as it runs fast and stable. I have trimmed it down a bit from what you download and the VC Overclock feature is nice and simple to use. Link to the thread below ... read instructions on how to use the OC Daemon.

[KERNEL] Stock and optimized CyanogenMod kernels (also with TUN and CIFS modules)

Download stock CyanogenMod kernel
What is it?
It is a flashable ZIP containing zImage and wireless.ko extracted from cm-7-20120701-NIGHTLY-p500.
It is not compiled.
It is completely stock CyanogenMod kernel.
Who is it targeting?
Users of CyanogenMod (or CyanogenMod-based) ROMs that tried alternative kernels and now want to go back to the stock kernel.
Download optimized CyanogenMod kernel
Regular version | Extra version (with TUN and CIFS modules)http://www.mediafire.com/?efgv63eq614zn2ohttp://www.mediafire.com/?efgv63eq614zn2o
What is it?
It is exactly the same as CyanogenMod kernel, but compiled without some debug functionalities.
End users do not need them, and removing them makes the kernel smaller and may increase the speed a little bit.
This kernel should behave just like the CyanogenMod kernel and should have exactly the same functionalities. (in case it doesn't, please let me know )
Additional version with extra modules included - tun.ko and cifs.ko.
Who is it targeting?
Satisfied users of the stock CyanogenMod kernel that may want a little increase in speed and/or some functionality provided by the extra modules included, but do not like fancy modifications in kernels.
I need feedback and suggestions on the optimized kernels. Thanks in advance!
Nice one, could become handy to have a flashable stock CM kernel WITH wireless.ko.
Just a suggestion: You should enable the CONFIG_IKCONFIG option so that one can check which options you have configured in the kernel.
Also could not harm to have the tun.ko module as well (CONFIG_TUN), if needed for VPN connections.
Added versions with TUN and CIFS modules.
Flashed this, all seems good currently, great work
Also, this patch supposedly fix call reboots. Worth a try?

This time I disabled the "optimize for size" option and also checked another option to strip symbols.
When I have time I'll do a better research on that, but it's funny that all these changes in v01 and now v02 don't seem to change much in the benchmark I tested (AnTuTu Benchmark - only "CPU and memory", "2D graphics" and "3D graphics" tested).
In the worst case scenario I'll use this thread to publish only the latest stock CyanogenMod kernel to those who want to get it back.
Researched some more optimizations and built a new version. Now only one kernel already with the extra modules (TUN and CIFS). And it's getting harder to discover new optimizations.
Thx for your extra version with tun module, i flashed this kernel and openvpn work now with cyanogen rc1
Updated all three kernels. Enjoy!
Thanks, this is what I want.
I feel CM official kernel is the most stable and smooth!
After one hour use the optimized version, i feel that my phone has became smoother!
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
This time I slightly broke my promise of not modifying the code of the optimized kernels.
I applied one change from LG's newest souces (V20A for LGP500H) that seems related to the behaviour of the phone when the screen is turned off (I'm not 100% sure).
https://github.com/yuripg1/lge-kernel-msm7x27/commit/ea2157b140ecf79530f33a214e38b48204c39e2b
I don't know exactly what problem it is supposed to fix, but it seemed safe to apply this patch to the kernel.
I also tried it by myself a little before releasing it and so far it's doing fine.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA
Once more, all three kernels up-to-date!
Thanks for keep working!

Check again, buddy.

[Q][SOLVED] Kernel with BLN to use with Spike Pure ICS?

Is it possible to get BLN working on SGS2 with Spike Pure ICS? I currently have the SE 2.0 and the BLN app says the kernel does not support it. Is there a Pure-ICS-compatible kernel with BLN support?
Abyss, N.e.a.k., Syiah And some other it can. You mean probably support for stock SMS, there isn't still mod with suport BLN. Possible is use other sms, f.e. Go SMS, or create task in tasker apk for stock.
Thanks for the tips, I have a Spike pure ICS ROM (it gives a Google stock ICS experience) so I was wondering if those kernels work with it. I am using the kernel that came with it now: CF-root BULPC kernel. I am not sure what BULPC means...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
SiyahKernel v3.2rc1 works fine with Spike pure ICS
You can flash the new SiyahKernel v3.2rc1 http://www.gokhanmoral.com/
It's OK i have tested on Spike rom without any problem...
PS you can activate BLN support also with exTweaks....
