I have my 8.9 for about a week now and I would love to see Touchwiz gone. I like the dark blue looks of the basic Honeycomb much better. Hopefully if one of the devs got spare time, I would kindly ask for a Vanilla Rom for the P7300.
Thanks!

Hey All,
I wanted to see if there is any chance the Devs can release a Honeycomb Theme similar to the samsung galaxy Tab theme.
here is the link to the Samsung Galaxy theme.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979343
Not sure if we can get a similar look and feel until the real deal honeycomb comes out..
thanks for all your help.
you probably should have posted this in the apps and themes section to get the right exposure. The problem is we have different roms tntlite, vegan, cm7, and more. go to the other section and find someone who themes the rom you use and then ask.
on second thought...
here you go

Hi friends! ICS and Nexus Prime has been launched some hours ago. Frankly speaking, not too impressed with Nexus Prime tech specs. Still only 1.2Ghz processor and 5 MP main camera. I think the Nexus is only a demo model of Samsung for new software. The real deal will come in Galaxy S II or III. When can we expect to get the leaked ICS (Android v4.0) for our existing Galaxy S II model here on XDA? Within a month?
Mod edit: Changed title
I wouldn't count on getting it for several months at least
Edit: can a moderator please move this thread to General
Given someone has already demo'd ICS on a GS2 (http://www.androidunite.com/2011/10/16/ice-cream-sandwich-running-on-galaxy-s2/), albeit in a very unofficial fashion, I don't think it'll be long until we see a ROM on here.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that douche just installed the 2.4 launcher some devs built months ago and added the leaked apps. There are alot of visual differences to the original 4.0 launcher. And he never shows any information about the ROM or the kernel... Just another stupid troll on the net.

Wow! Thanks for the video link! Now my guess is that we'll get ICS for SGS II within 2 weeks maximum, right here on XDA

I this "version" doesn't appear the virtual buttons of Home, Back and recent apps, for example.
Now that we have the Android 4.0 SDK do we have developers looking at a port?
it's out?
anyway probably will take a while before there's any good 'stable' roms based on it for everyday use

Yeah mate, it's out and the race is on! Hopefully the SGS2 gets one before the other phones
For the benefit of any of you people new to android.
SDK ports are generally awful, most if not all hardware will not work, and lots of apps will also likely not work.
It is possible to get it to a decent working state but it takes a lot of time and effort and this usually does not occur before we get access to the full sources (based on past android OS releases).
So people are/will be trying this but don't expect a fully working SDK port before we get either an SGS2 official leak rom or a AOSP based rom when it is released (likely in a months time).
@OP
This won't answer your question but you really need to watch it.
Looks like there is a system dump spreading on the web, and think dump is better way than SDK.

LOL. I don't need to watch the "NooB" video link you posted. If you have any news about ICS leak for SGS II, post it here. I asked a very legit question and we got this very useful answer here : http://www.androidunite.com/2011/10/16/ice-cream-sandwich-running-on-galaxy-s2/
So the Noob Video link that you have posted here is not relevant. Wish we had a "dislike" button on XDA
Everyone can watch this video and comment whether this is legit or not : http://www.androidunite.com/2011/10/16/ice-cream-sandwich-running-on-galaxy-s2/

That is NOT ICS, it's just a launcher and some of the apps from ICS.
I had that music app for weeks now.

Video is a fake, different statusbar icons, different font, does not have the same launcher or the home/back/app buttons on the screen.

You DO need to watch the noob video. If you're not a noob then what are you doing posting discussion threads in the development forum?
This is not a development thread which is why I call you a noob and tell you to watch the video. It's also the reason why I've reported this thread and asked it to be moved. PLEASE don't post threads in the development forum unless you are actually developing something.
Thank you.
Gonna see how much i can **** my system by installing all the apks from "ICS Apps Dump"

you don't - you would have been disliked into oblivion after starting this thread
According to my opinion, every Rom out here or basically each Rom compares up to each other. The only difference on choosing a Rom is based on Taste! However some Rom's outmatch others in performance but sadly lack some design issues and I would love to change that
My question?
I would like to work with the TouchWiz System UI and start to edit it, I would like to start with three things.
Editing the System UI Background
Changing the System UI Icons
Phone APK
If someone can help me or tell me how to do it, link me to a guide or got any ideas, know that you are more then welcome to share!
Check the Themes section, there's plenty of threads which will give you pointers & there's also some tutorials to get you started.

Not sure if I have over looked or not, but I was looking for a completely decked out customer ROM with all the fix-in's like, customer color themes, no original Icons, that sort of thing. it would be stable and fast. if there are any , please give me a link
If I am out of my mind... please do so as well
Thank you Devs for all your hard work!
everyone will have a different opinion on what works and what doesn't, your best bet to to just try them out give them a day or 2 each to see how they run for you.
This is such a broad question that can be taken so many ways. As far as ASOP goes if you are talking having the most options pacman or revolt are going to have the most options.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Go to the development thread and see all the awesome roms we have foe our beloved i717...also there are some in android original development. .....to each is own when picking out roms
Thanks Everyone
And my apologies for the broad question and thank you for the recommendations.
Not sure if ur a fan of touchwiz or not but Big, Nun, and The Family are doing some great things with Black Jelly. Dont let the fact that its in beta deter you. The rom is fast, stable, and very customizable. Also, GT's Padawan JB is pretty good as well. Those are just my personal recomendations.
A BIG @ZZ JAR OF BLACK JELLY
With the cm10.1 roms you have many themes available to really change appearences. See the app store.
Hello everyone,
I used to post on another forum but have came over to xda due to the massive volume of users/support. I just got a new i605 and LOVE it! The first thing I did was root it and install a TW-based ROM as I wanted to keep the TW features originally to see if I would use them. Well I'm sure a lot of people do use them, and they are nice and all, but just not a requirement for me. So, I was curious if anyone had an opinion of what a good DARK rom is out there? I love inverted gapps and darks screens, etc. Currently I'm running Jelly'Beans' build 22 and just installed some team blackout apps to get some of those apps in place. Love the ROM but wanting to experiment some. On my Nexus 7 I run slim bean and love it and how you have 1 switch to set it to "Dark" mode. Anyone know any stable TW or AOSP based (happy either way) roms that are pretty well maintained on the i605 that have a dark option? Some I have been researching include:
PAC-MAN, Illusion, Goodness Noteworthy, and Eclipse (even though it's an old build).
Thanks so much!
Alliance and trans-nebula are 2 I just found as well... still would love to hear everyone's opinion.

Welcome to the Note2 forums.
XDA is a development site not a support site. As such members are expected to do the research, read through the development threads and decide what is BEST for them. The only results that would be posted here are what each member has found to be BEST for them by experimentation based on their phone/usage/setup/apps/signal strength. Please take the time to read through those development threads to learn all about the software you are about to drastically alter your very expensive device with.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
