Just Skyped last night and noticed something peculiar: my image was sideways no matter how I turned the Flyer. The person I was Skyping repoted the same problem.
The the SKype developers really screw this up and assume that the camera on our tablet is at the top and not on the right side? Is there a setting somewhere in the Skype app to fix this?
Yeah, Skype does not get along with a lot of ROMs. on the one I use (LeeDroid) it works fine in normal landscape mode, but turn the tablet any other way and the picture is upside down
That same thing was happening with Skype on the flyer too. It started happening after the latest update I couldn't find a fix within Skype so I just uninstalled it and then installed a previous version. The camera is now working correctly in landscape and portrait.

On the Honeycomb leaks, the cameras work with skype , but with the same rotation issues, but they don't work with some other apps like camera 360 and paper camera and google talk video.

Hey, someone over in the EVO forum posted the new yahoo messenger app that includes video chat from the leaked mytouch HD ROM. It appears to function using the rear camera on the vibrant.
Haven't been able to test it out fully yet cause I don't know anyone who actually uses yahoo messenger.
Hopefully someone can get this working with the FFC Mod as it should allow phone to computer video chat.

Likely the build.prop will needed edited like it does for fring & tango to work correctly with the FFC mod.
ill try it out i still use yahoo messenger
tested on vibrant.....quality sucks but it works for sure but both parties should have camera
So its only two way.
it works its a step forward thats for sure it looks like you have a option to switch cameras aswell on it
Combine this with the TV Out option and should even allow you to see the screen while you faced the rear camera toward you in a dock or something. An obvious advantage would be no computer / PC webcam needed at least.
I have tried to sign in with my screen name and my wives. The app always says that there have been too many sign in attempts and that the login from the device has been temporarily disabled.
me and my friend tried it (both with vibrant FFC Mod) after changing the build.prop and it works but doesn't seem to detect FFC. It uses the rear camera and not able to switch between front and rear cam even though I see the option to. Tango works however
Tried this yesterday between a PC and my Vibrant on 3G. Works great, but only with rear camera. Haven't done the FFC mod. Video quality is so-so, but I'm glad to have something that I can talk to my PC buddies with (still mourning the loss of Skype in Fring). The video is a plus. Can't wait for this to become a public app.
Has anyone had any success with video chat through yahoo messenger on a gingerbread ROM? I can make a call but it forces me to rear camera even with the new kernels... Anyone else?

Having the same problems here. I got that qik application to work properly, but the person on the other end of the video call says that the video is upside down. Had the same upside down issue on fring too. Hope we get this issue resolved soon. CM7 rc1.3
Nope, I use Google talk and it works fine...

Yahoo Messenger with the video plug in from the market only works from my phone to PC. At least for me. I can't seem to get it to work from phone to phone.
Google Talk works, but the video is sideways/upside down last I tried unless they fixed it.
fring works well but you get echos with the voices. Typically the sound is too low.
I never got Qik or Tango to work phone to phone.
Is there a fix to make the camera not be upside down on the distant end? If the fix is flashing CM7 or better yet CM9 that would be fine by me. Thanks.
Video on my galaxy player 5 using skype comes up upside down for the front facing camera. It seem an issue with a lot of devices, but someone in a forum said their video was ok before updating skype.
Does anyone has good video in skype and can tell me their skype version?
I unfortunately don't have an answer for your question but I need to know, how's upside down? Is it you on their end or them on your end?

Click to collapse
Both. My image appears upside down while transmitting it right to the other end. And in this position the received image from the other end is also upside down.
I think it is something to do with the camera software, not Skype because I got Google talk with video and it does the same thing, but only in portrait, not landscape.

Upgrade YP-G70 from Froyo to GB
Upgrade YP-G70 from Froyo to Gingerbread, the problem can be solved (my experience). Or get a previous version of Skype if you can find it.
Same problem on LG G2x. Can't seem to fix it. Seems like it would be such a simple thing for the developer to add a simple "rotate video" option. How stupid. Anyone find a fix yet?
Do a hand stand jk i would say,try an older version of skype.

Hello!
So i noticed that a new Spotify version was released yesterday. Can anyone confirm that it works properly with the transformer prime?
The last versions of the Spotify have so many problems, and the biggest problem was the fact that you couldn't sync songs offline.
How is it working for you guys?
-Martin.
It works and syncs on mine (stock rom or CM9), but I had the impression it uses a lot of CPU, and is not adapted for tablets at all (portrait-mode only…).
Allright, I'll try it then. I am getting furious if I have to re-install it once more, if it doesn't work.
And for your portrait problem, use the app called "orientation control". Allows you to set an option for apps without landscape support to actually get in to landscape.
I use it for instance on Spotify and Instagram to get landscape mode.

It's working great for me, haven't gotten stuck on offline mode since the update.

Yeah, it's working for me now. The previous version (and the preview for this version) gave me offline errors when any playlists were downloaded.
Now we'll just be waiting 6 months for them to update this version with landscape mode.
Yeah, works for me too. You should check out the app "orientational control". fixed my issues with landscape mode. works quite well with spotify.
The update version of Spotify for Android works much better now. It used to close itself whenever you starred or added a song to a playlist, which now works fine. Wish they would add a landscape mode, but will try the Orientation Control app mentioned by others (thanks!).
It works ok but the lack of landscape support annoys me. Also I find the rest of the interface pretty clunky.
I tried the free trial of Rdio and the client is far better; makes good use of the tablet's real estate and supports landscape. Other than that the services are much the same, so I might switch.
As the title says, I've got some really bad lag when using the Lenses in Snapchat. The camera works fine when there is no lens on screen, but as soon as one starts tracking my face it turns into a slideshow. It even plays back this way when I view a recorded snap. The filters in Facebook Messenger work fine without lag. Does any other Tribute HD users have this problem? I've tried hard resetting and also reinstalling Snapchat but nothing helps. Surely the phone isn't under powered enough to be causing this is it? Even i check Snapchats memory usage it's never used more than 350mb, and I've always got at least 800mb of ram free when starting Snapchat.
No one? I've emailed Snapchat about this issue but have yet to hear anything back from them. I've even installed an older version to see if that changed anything but it didn't help.
