why dont you try a .32 and see if it has same effects?
or give a try to goldleaf's kernel
well yes!
.32 works but i wanted .35
Tried flashing .35, 3 times but to no effect.
Even goldeneaf has the same problems.
.32 kernels are more stable. That's why most ROMs still use .32.
why would you flash franco's kernel, since andy said that kernel is already installed in his rom? Just reflash the rom and all should work, franco didn't add any modifications since 02.10... And don't flash a .32 kernel on a .35 rom, that will just mess up your phone.

Well, the .35 works on everyone else's ROM.
And the default kernel is .32, however im not that satisfied with its performance so I wanted a switch

I flashed andy's gb rom rc1 and was happy with the rom, only thing I missed was overclocking...so I flashed mik's v1.1 kernel.
Will this harm the phone in any way? Pls tell me, else I'll reflash the rom...
Instead is the kernel .zip available? so I wont have to reflash the rom. I am aware tht andy will be releasing a modified kernel soon with miks oc features.
But in the meanwhile I dont want my phone to have any adverse effects.
Thanks

You should notice a lot of bugs now that yo uflashed mik_os 1.1 ancient kernel . Like black screen bug , reduced performance , probabily no 3d/2d , freezes ....
Thanks @zerobarat1 for the quick reply..
Actually the performance isnt much diff, running it at 729 makes it faster actually. But yes the black screen is bugging
So,
How do I go back to original kernel without reflashing the rom....I hadnt created a nandroid Is there a zip? I read the whole gb thread and have been following them for a while...afaik I couldnt find such a zip
Anyway Im waiting to see if andy releases his updated oc kernel today, it will save me the trouble of reflashing whole rom as opposed to just flashing new kernel over current one
Reflash the ROM without wiping.
Wil it work?
My phone=Rooted,2.2.2,clockwork recovery done....
It works.
You will have to root etc. before you can flash new kernel.

Have been running his kernel on stockrom for a week now, just as a test, phone is more responsive, no problems, running fine on 749Mhz
Wil go back to LOL 1.4.2 which I find one of the best for the moment.
When bluetooth headset works on Miks CM7 I will switch to that
Seems like franco.kernel v10 is not happy with my stock rom...Neocore and quadrant score increased but there is a slight lag when playing games(eg angry birds lag a little more with this kernel as compared to sipollo's kernel)..may be its coz of stock rom..back to sippolo's kernel until further update from franco..
Well, you can't blame he, the kernel was made for his custom rom

That is true. He is making the kernel for his ROM. However, I have noticed other ROM developers using older versions of his kernel. I hope his kernels will continue to be somewhat compatible with other ROMs. He is doing great work!
Someone trying v11 on Void rom? Is it vorking? Thanks

you can try it..but you do a backup before the flash..
I flashed v11 over stock ROM (v10e, 2.2) and didn't see any problems.
Flashed Franco v11 kernel on stock rom, seems like the battery backup has increased a bit. Much better than the stock one.

Hey i got a Big a** problem here i tried to go back on fk 18.1 (wiped dalvik and battery stats) and i flashed it but then it loads but right before the bootanimation the screen remains black but the phone ends loading fully i mean when you unlock the phone it vibrates right well it does vibrate so it tells me that the phone is working but the black screen doesn't go away
after seeing this i wiped and flashed MIKOS 6.6 2.3.4 ROM and i didn't flash franco's kernel and then it worked perfectly so then i flashed the kernel again (FK 18.1) AND AGAIN THE BLACK SCREEN BEFORE BOOTANIMATION! so cant use the phone :/ why the hell is this happening?!!! Help me
Which kernel are you using, I believe CFS is for Gingerbread only and BFS is for froyo, or it might be the other way around, I ended up running through the same problem, I just wiped everything, ie...dalvik,cache ( you get the picture) and reflashed the kernel, I used v18 cfs ( I believe) but make sure you do a backup, I had alot of problems using Clockworkmod's recovery so I switched back to AmonRA and Ive had no problems, Ive read that it's not recommended to use Rom Manager so just do the search for flashable custom recovery

oh i remember i did a nand back up and BFS is for gingerbread CFS froyo but feedbacks claim that cfs is better as i said i was using Franco's kernel v1 Gingerbread last updated and i tried to go back to 18.1 which doesn't have the black screen bug problem anyways thanks for replying bud, i'll restore the nand backup!
What you want to do?
If you are using Mik 6.5.5 you have to stick with FK 18.1. There is no such issue. if you are using Mik 6.6 test release then use FK Gingerbread kernel. There is no such bug. You can not flash Fk 18.1 on Mik 6.6. You will find same problem.
franco's rom doesn't support ipv6??? is it?

6.5.5 is based on kernel 2.6.32. mik's 6.6 is based on 2.6.35. fk 18.1 is based on 2.6.32!! 6.6 ROM cannot support a kernel then gingerbread..i.e., 2.6.35!!!

Hi community, this is the first time I post something and maybe this is the wrong category:silly:
I have an e10i, I love it, and following the instructions of this forum I managed to flash custom roms and I'm extremely happy with CM7 2.2.2
But yesterday I read that this ROM supports nAa .32 kernel and I'm wondering if it's worth it to flash this kernel (since I read it is intended for newest androids) will this kernel improve the mobile performance with CM7?
And in affirmative case, how do I flash it over nAa .29? Directly over the old kernel? Should I wipe everything before? Is there any way to don't loose all my mobile data and settings?
In cas someone needs it: http://imgur.com/dOKFR6j

You can just flash it over the old kernel and it will work. You will only lose data if you flash different ROMS not different kernels. (ofcourse, don't do the recommended formats for the new kernel, because they destroy your data)
In any case, perform a backup in CWM first, so you can restore it in case anything goes wrong.
It will be a little bit faster, but on the other hand, you will most likely loose bluetooth capabilities, because the .32 kernel has a few issues with that. So just try, and if you're not happy, you can always flash .29 again

I am using RR as well and as far as I saw in ROM's topic, many users have faced problems with custom kernels. Especially Dorimanx versions. I only once tried Gustavo and installed it without any problem. Just flashed it in CWM and that was all. I can say that make a full wipe, install RR first and then Gustavo. That should be OK.
But after a few days with Gustavo, I returned back to the original kernel of RR. Because it is stable and no major problems. So my advice is use the ROM with it's own original kernel.
Maybe the flash wasn't clean.. Try Kernel wipe script.

I already try kernel wipe script but the result is same. Generally i flash with full wipe ı dont know where i make a mistake. Maybe i should wait for stable kernel)
I have flashed Gustavo's 26/3 kernel many times before but recently the same kernel file gave me status 7 error.
Try downloading your kernel file again. Maybe the file has gone corrupt.
