[Q] Help!! Froze on HTC Logo! - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hy guys
I have an HTC T mobile G2 and a few days back it started to froze when i used certain aplications. I had to remove the battery and it all came back to normal till one time when it got stuck on the HTC logo and wont go any further then that. I have tried to run PC10IMG from Hboot on it but its says that Main Version Is older! I have also tried to delete the hboot.n00 file from PC10IMG boot and reziped it but it didnt worked. I have tried to go into recovery and did a full date wipe on it but with no result. In other words I have tried all the options to recover it using my sd card and it didnt work.
I have Vision PVT S-ON
HBOOT-0.82.008
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.13.04.19_M
eMMC-boot
Apr 13 2011
I have also tried to use android sdk to downgrade but no mather what I do I cant get the androidsdk to find my phone. I installed the drivers using HTC sync and PDAnet and all other methods I could find online but with no luck. I ve also used vista and windows 7 but since there no way i can access and enable usb debugging thats not an option for me.
Please if you have any ideas on how to get it to work I would appreciate it.

You've posted on the wrong forum section this is for HTC HERO GSM also known as G2 Touch ... is a different phone from HTC T mobile G2. Maybe someone from your phone's forum can help you.

Try a Hard reset if it works, by typing *2767*3855#
If that doesn't work:
Turn off the phone, press and hold the Home, Power, and Back buttons. After sometime the reset process should start. When the reset process is finished press MENU
Caution: Both will wipe everything

HTC Hero, Non-rooted, stuck on "Hero" Screen...HELP!

Hey everyone,
This is my first post here..and I need your help!! I have my friends HTC Hero (GSM), unlocked, non-rooted, and stuck on the "Hero" boot screen..I've tried everything from soft and hard reset, to getting into recovery mode, but nothing works..when I hold the power+home button, I get an image of a warning triangle with a phone infront of it.. I tried doing a factory reset by holding back+home and power, it took me to the fastboot screen, but that was useless.... PLEASE HELP.
I know that my friend got here by doing an OTA software update via wifi, and his internet connection disconnected in the middle of the update...the phone froze then he restarted and boom..the rest is history...
I'm using Mac OS X Snow Leopard..just FYI..
Thanks...waiting for your replies!!!

What network is it on? You'll need to find the HTC RUU for that particular network to return it back to stock, run that with your phone hooked up and in fastboot I think.
And you'll need openRUU aswel, use the search.

ddotpatel, thanks for the reply!!
Like I said, it's a factory unlocked GSM HTC Hero..no specific network ...
I tried openruu..but it wont recognize the device in fastboot...so I took it to the office today, on a windows 7 pc..the usb drivers installed..the phone is recognized in fastboot but not in ADB...i have no clue why..
Tried flashing RUU WWE i found here in xda, but didnt work..its an issue with ADB i guess..
any more insights?
Sorry pal, I must have missed that bit,... OK, so the WWE RUU should be the right one....
I think installing the latets HTC sync should do it (on your work machine).
If that fails,.... ....
... in fact, you may aswel just start from here to be sure I reckon,....

[Q] My HTC Hero isn't working anymore, please help

Hello Developers,
I bought a used HTC Hero Europe.
The Hero is 1,5 years old.
It worked how it should work.
When I was home after I bought it, the device asked for an update.
I installed the update, and it began updating. After it was done, the known White HTC screen showed up, and then it began.. I waited an half our but the screen stayed. I thought it was frozen, so I removed the battery and started it up again, but the same screen..
That night i put the Hero on and went to sleep. When I woke up, the battery was empty, so it didn't work.. I did the following steps:
-Volume-down button and power button, and reset the device, didn't help.
-Installed the drivers on pc, and put it in the computer via HBOOT and FASTBOOT usb, the pc saw the device (not the sd-card) but HTC Sync didn't.
-I tried to install the RUU which came from the HTC site, but that didn't work. Tried 3 others, but they didn't work either. Fail 140/141
-Tried to downgrade, but it didn't saw a number which should be shown. The solution was to reinstall the drivers but that didn't work either.
-Holding the [HOME] and [POWER] button shows a phone with a red triangle.
Please help me!

Do you know if the phone was rooted beforehand or if it had a custom recovery or rom installed. And what was the update it asked you to install?
No, I don't know both of things, I can ask the guy I bought it from if it is rooted.
I'll do that today and post when he mailed back.
if rooted, flash the recovery image, wipe all and install a custom rom
if not rooted, take it to htc
Okay, well, I think my warranty is void, so I better don't bring it to HTC, or am I wrong? I don't know if it's rooted, will know it soon.
The phone never has been rooted. Is it now easier to fix the phone?
Ok, are you able to boot into fastboot?
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
Yes, I am.
I tried to see the device with cmd and then type adb devices, the cmd shows the serial number of my Desire HD but the HTC Hero serial number isn't shown.. I reinstalled the drivers a few times but that didn't work.
When I pass to see the serial number I think I can downgrade it. But reinstalling the drivers doesn't help to show the serial number, anyone has an idea to fix that?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] HELP !!!! tmobile HTC One S Rom

Hi i have a problem my son decided to root my phone with out good knowledge of the whole
thing he watched a You Video and became a expert (lmao) so the aftermath is now i have a
phone that wont get past the HTC White screen at the start up .
So what happened is he unlocked the phone using a program called "HTC ONE S All in one
kit by Hasoon2000 v3.5"
Flashed recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.2.4
so when it starts like i said it gets stuck on the white Htc screen and i have to push the
vol down and pwr button to shut it down then re apply the same 2 buttons to get it into
recovery
I Cant seem to find clear instructions on what to get for the rom like Ice Cream
Sandwich , Trickdroid and what i have tried has failed which is as follow
i have re installed ginger bread on a at&t phone i had a while ago from a bad jailbreak
but it was easy i went to pan techs website they had the download there and it was simple
HTC i have noticed is a confusing site that doesn't give me a clear download
i have installed recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.2.4-ville.zip
In the fast boot usb recovery and in the cmd line with adt-bundle-windows-x
i have tried multiple roms like
-TrickDroid_9.1.0-9.0.0.zip
-PJ4010000-OneS
-MIUI.us_ville_v4_2.11.9_Eng
-OTA_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5-1.78.401.2_release_
-OTA_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L
the problem is there is no O.S at all in the phone and there was never a backup made for
it so lets start here when it get to the very begging recovery part it says this at the very begging
***UNLOCKED***
VLE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.14.0005
RADIO-1.13.50.05.25
openDSP-v29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC-boot
NOV 12 2012,12:17:41
so i go into the recovery option and in there wipes the catche , delvek catche and system
cache and then i did a factory reset and i have tried all the roms mentioned above and
they all fail except TrickDroid_9.1.0-9.0.0.zip but when i reboot the phone it gets stuck
at the HTC white screen and will stay there until i reset it by vol down and pwr buttons
or the battery dies
What do i do i am so lost the phone is a tmobile HTC one S

[Q] Nonrooted, Stock M8 spontaneously soft bricked. Data recovery possible?

Hello, I am mostly a beginner at android troubleshooting, having done little more than light research into recovery's, customs ROMs and such. I am attempting triage on my friends AT&T HTC One m8, which he says spontaneously shut down while he was looking at updates in the play store. It now boots only to the bootloader and while I can use the volume and power keys to select options, selecting any of the boot options, as well as recovery, simply causes it to reboot to the bootloader again. I have not attempted a factory reset yet, as my friend neglected to back up his data and would very much like to get it back, if at all possible. The phone is not rooted, and as far as I can tell, usb debugging is off. (My friend isn't really one to tinker with tech stuff) I installed the drivers for the phone on my windows 7 pc and it shows up in the device manager as "My HTC" but I have been unable to access the phone in any significant way. I did install Suqabbi's HTC One toolkit which was able to recognize that the phone was plugged in and could access the fastboot settings. I was able to trigger a reboot through the toolkit, but it only went to the bootloader again. I should also mention that it generally takes a few minutes (inconsistent) turn on the screen and go to the bootloader. This is what the bootloader screen reads:
Software status: Official
Locked
M8_UL_CA PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-INVALID_VER_INFO
OpenDSP-INVALID_VER_INFO
OS-4.28.502.1
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Mar 20 2015,03:01:11.0
I have searched the invalid_ver_info lines and it would seem that they indicate a problem, but from what I could tell it was not a very specific one. From my research so far, I'm assuming I won't be able to fully restore the phone to its previous condition, but does anyone know of a way I can potentially rescue the data? I have used data recovery programs to get data back from corrupted and reformatted hard drives before, but I'm guessing the data in a phone is harder to get to? I also have a Macbook running OS X Mavericks (I believe) and a machine with Ubuntu Linux on it as well, if either of those operating systems might offer a solution unavailable on windows. Thank you for your help, and hopefully my friend isn't out of luck. But if so, at least then I can try to get it functional again for him.

Android Stuck in Boot Loop >Factory Reset Fails Have tried almost everything!

Hello all! I know this is an old issue and the phone that I have is as old as life it's self but I hope that I can find some help here! I know there are sever threads covering this issue but I have not found any that covers the ENITRE issue that I am having.
Okay, now for my problem....
Of course my phone died (battery). I put it on the charger and powered it up. The phone stuck on Sprint screen for several days. This is the second time this has happened. The first time I was unable to use recovery but I was able to do a factory reset. THIS TIME I am unable to do anything. On factory reset, the phone goes to green icon and then it turns into the red exclamation. Same thing with recovery. I have tried the wipe/factory reset...I get an error there "E:can't open /cache/recovery/command" and I get that on all options in Sys recovery menu. I have read several threads on using fastboot but I have learned that there is more to it that plugging in the USB and recovering the phone.
To help answer some of the questions here are the details on the HBoot menu:
****Locked****
Shooter XC Ship S-On RL
HBoot - 1.58.0000
Radio - 1.09.00.0108
OpenADSP - v02.6.0226.00.0217
eMMC-boot
The phone has never been rooted and everything is stock.
I have seen that it can be recovered through Hboot menu but I'm not deep into this side of things so I will need detailed instructions if possible. I have an HTC Evo 3d and my PC is Mac OSX.
Same problem
I was about to post about my problem, but yours is very similar and like any good forum go-er I checked to see if there were any recent problems like mine.
I am running
**locked** shooter s-on hboot v 1.58 eMMC -boot from may 17, 2012.
I have never rooted the device or tampered with it in any way. I thought about it, but got a newer phone.
I recently got into computer programming and wanted to see what can be done with this old tech with still relevant hardware.
after starting the device it got into the OS , took me to my homescreen like normal then failed horribly after 10 seconds, once i slid the ring up.
it then got stuck at HTC screen, so i tried the bootloader, which works, so i went for a factory recovery. get the red triangle, so i look into rooting.
turns out that if i hadnt checked usb debugging and unlocked already, i cant get in to do anything. is this a soft-brick hard-brick case?
i feel there is hope, but the lack of response to OP after this time leaves me disappointed. I've spent many hours trying to find a solution to this problem, but it is way beyond me.
i tried finding signed copies of PG86IMG.zip for hboot 1.58 to no avail, only option is RUU which won't find the phone on windows 10. drivers are out of date, perhaps.
Installing linux now to hopefully get access to that file system.
Would really appreciate the help, devs. this is a great device would be a shame that NOT tampering with it would leave me and OP with a brick.
thanks for reading and thanks in advance for consideration and advice.
dunno, maybe try this

virgin evo 3d has no downloadable current ruu to flash, and you guys are s on which won't let you flash older ruu to reset your system. which makes it difficult to fix.
