Video doesn't lag (as is with LGC), and audio recording IS AAC 44.1 mono 128kbps... Only problem is fact when you end recording camera app is "frozen" but u need just close it with homekey and video will be saved...
For me it gives much better results than using LGC...

2.2 video recording

Just to ask
because using the 2.2 ROM the only video format that seems possible to acquire with decent quality is MOV (quicktime) would not be easier to start from this rather than MP4 or 3gp ??????
or use other apps?

i tried both options still can't get them work smoothly
btw is there any other good converter which can convert 480p video in desired format,so that i can run it on O1?
I am using Handbrake.
1. Load the video file that you want to convert.
2. Select the "iPhone Legacy" profile, this will load the needed settings. It's the most compatible with our phone mp4 format from the list, but needs some tweaks:
- go to the "Picture" tab and adjust the resolution to the desired values;
- go to the "Video" tab and adjust the video bitrate. For 480x320 (full screen landscape) with H.264 you can go as low as ~750kbps ans still have crystal clear image.
- go to "Audio" tab and change Mixdown to stereo; keep the AAC audio codec, for some strange reason the mp3 codec doesn't work. AAC is better anyway.
- (optional) go to "Chapters" tab and uncheck Create chapter markers
- do not change any settings under "Advanced" tab.
3. When you're done, you can save this custom profile so that you won't have to make all the changes next time you use the encoder: use the "Add" button on the lower right.
4. Start encoding.
01 cannot play x264 encoded video in mp4 container.
it can play mpeg2 encoded video in mp4 container.

That might be true for you.
I wouldn't recommend a solution I haven't tried myself and know for a fact that it works. Also I wouldn't waste time explaining step by step how to... fail.
If at the end the result is a clip that freezes or stutters, then the problem lies somewhere else: OS, kernel, player.

the phone does not play x264 by default.
on default player it does not even play divx above 360p
and all this happens on official ROM v10e
with mobo player hardware decode, it can play divx upto 480p
x264 only works in software decode mode.

[Q] Optimum Video Recording settings for lgCamera

Hey I have lgCamera for video recording the settings are focus mode semi-continuous, vid res 640 x 480, video encoder mpeg4, video file format mpeg4, video bitrate 2 mbit, video framerate 30 fps, audio encoder AAC, audio samplerate 44100, audio bitrate 128000.
I am still having some freezes when recording thus audio will not sync after the freeze.
What are the best settings, or is there any other application which is better than lgCamera.
Many Thanks

don't know why I am having trouble, video and audio seems synced at first, but then video freezes for seconds and it becomes unsynchronised. Don't know what to do.. tried every app and setting out there.
Sorry for my bad english but i am german. Wich rom do you have installed ? Stock or custom ? I use custom rom ginger dx 14 and the lg camcorder works fine. Maybe your sd card is too slow.

I have precisely the same problem..
To solve this issue, is to set the audio encoder to amr nb, but bad audio quality is the consequence..
sorry my bad english
(lgCamera is better then camera from custom rom?)
i hope you understand now

pixelated videos when 'moving camera'
here's me resurrecting old topic but i need help
so, what settings are you guys using? i tried using settings provided in first post, and everything works fine except i get pixelated videos only when moving camera faster or capturing some faster motions.
pixels appear only then, eg. when fast moving camera left-to-right, up-down, and when i stop moving it, video is clear, non pixelated.
anyone have same issue? any cure to this? thank you
btw, im using MiniCM 2.1.9. on mini pro
really? over 1000 views and no constructive reply.. please if someone found optimal settings share them...
ok, i think that i've found optimal lgcamera v 6.25 settings for lagless/nonpixelated/synced video
My settings:

Video resolution: 640x480
Video encoder: MPEG4
Video file format: MPEG4
Video bitrate: 4 Mbit
Video framerate: auto
Audio encoder: AAC
Audio samplerate: 44100
Audio bitrate: 128000
please report your output here if you test this settings...

hm, strange, what cm-performance settings are you using? what governor? and have you undervolted your device?
btw, i'm on mini pro, naa's minicm, currently using ondemand 129-600 mhz and everything is working fine. i have replaced camera libs (system/libs) from slade's gintonic rom. maybe there is the solution, don't know.. but as far as i can remember, videos weren't laggy for me when i was on naa's libs, only pixelated... hm, need to test it more..

Problem in audio recording

When i record a video everything seems fine, except the audio, that shows up a very annoying noise. The problem occur while it's recording in 48kHz or into the default value in the camera app settings. When recorded with 11kHz it's ok, but the quality of the audio it's terrible.
Here's a exemple of this problem:
If the youtube video won't play, here's the link: http://youtu.be/SJfhhG0rSI8
I've already tried to look into build.prop or media_profiles.xml but i don't exactly what to do there. Please, help me, i need this function of recording audio a lot.
Thank you.

Yes. Actually, the app i used in the video was JB camera+ which offer the option to change the default value for 11kHz. With Snap camera the problem goes away if i choose the option "use alternative mic", the audio is recorded very well in 48kHz, but the rest of this app has so many bugs that makes me really run away from it. Same with LgCamera, besides the awuful design.

60fps recording with audio?

Hey there, i was using AICP rom, and installed Moto Camera. It allows me to record in slowmotion, but for some reason the slowmotion doesn't work, it records in 60fps but without audio... and that makes me question something... This framerate can be added when you record a video normally? I mean, is there an option or mod, or something to change to make the 60fps recording work when you record a normal video?
Have u given permission to app to use mic?

Yes, the thing here is:
When i record in normal mode, records with audio and everything but in 30fps.
When i record in slow motion mode, records without audio (it's normal) but in 60fps
and i was thinking, if supports recording on 60fps, there's a way to add it into the normal recording?
Sorry bro..I don't know. I solved the problem just by giving permission.
Is that true 60fps? Move your video to pc and check it on VLC if it's really 60fps. I did once but it was 30fps l, showing in the VLC media player.
Also I don't think there's any mod to record 60fps in normal mode.
About the audio, they doesn't seems to get recorded in the slow-mo videos :/
