[Q] Can you flash a new firmware with Odin on a branded, locked, SGS2?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Yes.
Brilliant thread title by the way.
Simplicity is the best. I thought carrier locked 3 network would screw it up.... So I want kj3 I'd just flash - pda, phone and 3 network csc without pit and partition.

Hey if i download a custom rom do i need to download the original csc package?
Sent from my GT-I9100T using XDA Premium App
I don't believe so.
You only need to download a CSC package if you need to change the CSC that's curently installed on your phone.
Oh ok but if i download a rom doesnt it change the csc?

CSC is totally independent of anything else, if you update via kies it may update your csc but unless you flash a new one via odin it won't be overwritten by custom roms.
You also don't need to update your csc its mostly just apn settings and maybe some region specific Apps eg iplayer in the uk.

Try updating your modem (or radio) to KG3 or KG6 I haven't had that happen since I updated modem. Pulser has a modem thread in development. Flash with ODIN.

Thank you,
Is that kind of rooting ?
because i do not wanna root my mobile
I don't think you need root access to flash with ODIN. You would be putting official Samsung baseband on your device, so I don't see a problem.

Hello guyss, Can anyone tell me how to flash a Modem in Galaxy S2 through CMW or ODIN. And which file is the Modem file in the .tar/.zip folder... And If I flash a modem of different firmware so will it cause any problem....

this thread contains a list of modems.

You use odin but instead of PDA, you will use the phone button.
You can use different modems on different roms according the region you live in.
Only problem will be no or poor reception, if you chose the wrong modem.. To fix simply flash another modem.
Flash through CWM if in .zip format.

Hi..i have a Three UK network phone which i have unlocked using method described on xda...however I'd like to debrand it by installing another ROM and unroot...will i lose the unlock in this process?
Also, if i downloaded ROM from samfirmware, how can i apply using odin as there are a few files included? I'm not very technical when it comes to various intricacies of Android ROMs!
As always thanks for your help in advance...

You can flash any firmware you like, and later a csc to match UK or just enter the APN settings manually. XX UK or XE/XW European etc, but as I said, doesn't really matter. For best data speed, connection etc you need to then flash a modem that best suits your carrier. Best to just try.
For the latest modems, some flashable via Odin and in CWM recovery:

I have an unbranded S3,that I bought from Amazon and when I put in *#1234# it shows the CSC as unknown. Is this normal?
If not what can I do?

The easiest solution for a new device is a factory reset. It should resolve itself when it reboots and flashes the stock CSC it shipped with. If that does not resolve it, then reflashing the ROM (or any appropriate stock ROM) should do so. You can find info on it by searching. I've even discussed this recently in the Q&A section myself, as I encountered a similar problem recently by using Mobile Odin and not allowing the CSC to flash due to a custom recovery being installed.
It's not a brand new device, have had it around 2 months. I installed jb 4.1.1 that I got from Sammobile using odin.
I've never noticed any problems, will the phone be ok or is it something I need to sort?
Am planning on wiping all data and installing 4.1.2 btu from Sammobile tomorrow.
