About unlocking HTC Hero, Samsung Galaxy s2 , s and Ace is possible unlock. Htc Hero, a mid 2009, is not possible. Did Htc copy ancient pyramid schemas for lock this phone?
you want to make the hero S-OFF?? I've attached the zip that I've used and can be flashed from recovery to make it S-OFF.
A PROBLEM FLASHING THE SPL CAN BRICK YOUR DEVICE - as such, proceed with caution. Don't flash this unless you need it, flash at your own risk, flash only to a GSM Hero and do not interrupt the flashing process !
Unlocking is Possible for this Phones,You can get the Unlock code at the site
Unlocking4u.com and Unlock the Mobile Phone from the Network Lock.

I have an unlocked SPV M3100 which is still running the windows 5 rom. I want to update it to the HTC Home ROM (by Scotty93) that is on this site but i want to know a few things first:
Do i have to update the rom to a newer version before i can use the HTC Home one?
I have a 2 gb MicroSD card ready to use - but could somebody outline the processes i would need to to in what particular order
Will my phone remain unlocked after the update?
Many Thanks,
David
Hi,
An unlocked phone means you can use any SIM inside the phone. It won't get locked by flashing.
But you need to CID unlock the phone before you can flash any cooked ROMs such as what you mentioned (that's why HardSPL is important because it makes the phone SuperCID so the device won't brick easily by flashing). Before you want to start any flashing activity, please read the wiki and how to HardSPL your phone.
All the best
As the title say, is there a way to flash an android phone without changing the bootloader to s-off. If not then is it possible to flash the original boot after flashing the custom rom just to make the s-on again with a custom rom?
Thanks
Not all android devices have a bootloader with S-ON. Usually HTC android devices for the most part are the ones with locked bootloaders. If it's this case, then no. It's not possible to flash anything (unofficially) without the bootloader being unlocked. Also, I'm not sure about all but (from the devices I know of with this situation) it's not possible to gain S-ON yet. Like for the HTC Aria. It is able to be S-OFF'ed but not vice versa as yet. There are rumors about a tool being made to reverse this and make S-On possible again but flashing the official firmware will NOT make it S-ON again.
I am trying to root my htc legend.
But first i have to downgrade it since i have build 3.15 running on android 2.2.
For all downgrading is a goldcard required. But i have a simlock free unbranded legend. Is it then still needed? I cant make a goldcard because the site is down.
Will my phone brick if i try to open crackin.bat to downgrade, while i dont have a goldcard?
What guide should i follow without a goldcard?
Thanks!
My Legend was unlocked and unbranded when I got it too, and I needed a gold card.. Crackin.bat shouldn't brick it, you'll only get an error message at the end I think because of the wrong sd card.
i found it easiest to use the goldcard tool from
Code:
sites.google.com/site/roothtchero/goldcard-2
for the legend you'll have to select MMC0...

Hi, what your describing is network lock rather than root lock, from my understanding, regardless of network lock, it's only the root lock you have to worry about so unless I am mistaken, you will still need goldcard to flash NON-stock rom.
I personaly was lucky, I got a three (suppied by vodafone) legend there was no branding what-so-ever, no voda or 3 bloatware, I havn't tried it on any other network, but, at the time I also had vodafone mobile broadband which also worked on my phone, (it didn't work on my wife's 3 branded Desire HD).
Please i'm desperately in need of assistance. I tried to root hy htc one xl. After unlocking bootloader with the instructions from htcdev.com website, I tried to root it with insecurebootandboot method. The phone restarted after that and started showing some red text about copywrite. I tried to fix it by flashing a custom rom and now when I switch on the phone, it just shows the htc logo and switches off. Please any help will be greatly appreciated but keep it as simple as possible as I am still a newbie
Pretty sure the red text is normal after the unlock. For the rom flash, did you also flash the boot.img via fastboot? I am certain that would have been in the instructions for installation of the rom, as it is standard for 99% of HTC Dev unlocked phones.
Also, which HTC One XL do you have? Is it from a particular region or carrier as that can be important to which files are needed to fix it. And what update was it on?
Yes I flashed it via fastboot and its an unlocked htc one xl, not attached to any carrier. Its running on stock android 4.1
I almost cannot believe how many different ROMs I've tried to flash after wiping out my original ROM.
Bootloader unlocked and rooted I managaged to relock the bootloader while trying to fastboot flash a stock ROM, which also failed.
Beleive it or not, I've have found a couple that will boot up with my Sprint HTC One Max . I was able to re-unlock the bootloader, flash a new rom and even recover user data I had backed up to my PC via adb backup.
All this for not, as I still cannot find a Sense ROM that will flash on my device and allow me to unnlock the Sim via Sim Unlock Helper.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I recall reading somewhere that the Unlock Sim Helper should work on Sense 4.1.2 ROM. ????
Greetings,
I moved your thread to the correct forum (hopefully) for you to get the help you need.

RUU back to anything pre-4.4 and it should work. afaik you need a lower hboot/radio version
