Just got a 52MB System UPDATE from HTC for my flyer. Did the manual check for software update, and got the new system update.

Sorry I just noticed the duplicate post.

Software update was set to automatically look for updates, and yesterday (for the first time ever) notified me of an OTA update being available for my X10. It's the 8.4MB update I have read about, which essentially just re-installs 2.1 and makes rooting more difficult.
I don't want to install it, and I have since disabled software update checking, but I can't get rid of the notification icon advising me about the update. Does anyone know how?
you can't :S What you can do however is do an ota update, which will attempt to install, and then fail. That is what happened for me and everyone else on here that tried doing an ota anyway.
Try to delete "dmclient.apk" in system/app using root explorer and reboot system.
Here's how I removed the notification on my phone:
+ mv /system/app/FotaClient.apk /sdcard/
+ mv /system/app/SyncmlDS.apk /sdcard/
It may work for you too.
Hi,
Hope this is the right section and that someone can help. (I have tried searching but no joy!)
I have a Samsung Galaxy ACE (GT-S5830i) which I have rooted but I am still on the stock rom/gingerbread 2.3.6
Today my phone said an update is available, so I connected to WiFi and downloaded the 30.14mb update, the update fails to install and I have now found out from searching that you cannot do a software update OTA once you are rooted, D'oh!!
So I now want to know how do I get rid of the 30mb update that I downloaded from my internal storage?! Can I simply delete it from the appropriate file, if so what is the folder/file called? or is it not as simple that?
If this 30mb update that didn't work cannot be simply deleted using my file manager app, then should I unroot my phone, and then try and update OTA again? and then root my phone once more? Would that work?!
Thanks for your help, this has really annoyed me and in hindsight I wouldn't have bothered to do the software update if I had known rooted phones cant update!!! And its also very frustrating that my internal storage has now got 30mb less space than before because I downloaded this update. I really hope its just a case of finding it and deleting it!
Thanks again,
James
Bump!

I was prompted with a Software Update version 2.18.707.5 (Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5),
I downloaded the update,
The Update Package was downloaded to the Download folder in Internal SD Card,
In order to take the backup of the Update Package I accidentally moved instead of copying to another location,
After that I copied the package back to its original location which was the Download folder,
I ran the Update Check again to see if it detects the restored Update Package in the Download folder,
But it didn't and instead prompted me to download the Software Update again.
I don't want to download it again as I downloaded it using mobile data, also I don't have any other internet facility available other than that.
Is there anything that I can do besides downloading the entire Update again?
Moreover what precautionary steps should I take before running the Update like reset to factory defaults, etc?

HTC One X+ (India)
Android 4.1.1 (Stock/Official)
Never Rooted
Hi Vivek,
Make sure you backup all important data. I've had a couple of friends who updated their phone and then it did not restart. It gets stuck at the HTC logo after installing the update. So most importantly backup your data.
Also on a side note, if possible, could you please upload and share the OTA zip file which was downloaded?
Thanks.
Just got a new system update in UK, I have not noticed any difference yet, but only had the update for 30 mins, anyone else had an update, if so, have you noticed any difference.
Me too. Customized EEA.
I get it too, just installed.
Seems like just April security patch, just copy paste from Google.
As usually sony didn't make any efforts to improve our phone, apps or add new features...
Of course communication with client does not exists hence no changelog.
Got it too on XQ-BC52. Shameful we don't get a changelog.
Received this morning in Italy
Oke why always opening a new thread by every single update ?
With this latest update 61.1.A.7.35, I have noticed a battery drain that I did not have before with the previous one. I have already done the third full format with Xperia Companion. Anyone having the same problem?
