WORKS!!!
Worked fine for me. The beta installer replaced the old version that I tried to restore from my factory rom back up, that had not worked.
Thanks

^^
This. Also installed the beta which replaced my restored backup which was causing FCs & works a treat on Galnet Miui 2.1.20/Siyah 2.6.7.

If you update to the latest nightly, it will work. The build pro has changed so market thinks you have a defy+ as the normal defy doesn't have a gingerbread.

cm_jordan_full-63.zip
I don't know, I think not. They stopped building CM7 nightly's because of ics.
If you use the latest one of the link in my post you will have all the latest mods they did. You don't need to wipe data. Just the cache and dalvic cache.
In one of the latest posts in the dev thread, someone posted the changes you need.
Edit:
Even looked up the post:

If you don't like to install the latest nightly. Just download this file, remove the .zip in the name and copy it to the system map.

[Q] Which Rom for newest Swype beta?

Hey there,
coming from the nexus one the TW things (dialer und contacts) are a welcome feature, but the bundled swype sucks, because you cannot install the newest beta versions which are much much better (Especially for german users, because of the umlauts)!
So i am looking for a STABLE Rom with Android 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 where swype is not included or can be easily uninstalled!
Any suggestions?
Best regards!
Any rom, you can use root explorer to delete the swype.apk from system/app if included. Just choose a rom from the vast selection. Then you can install swype beta.

There are a bunch of threads around that describe what you need to do and I have done it myself in the recent past. Freezing with Titanium Backup was the way I did it, I think.
Have a search around - you can most certainly do it if you invest a little time and effort...
Freezing didnt work!
But deinstalled with titanium backup, rebooted - installed again and then it worked!
thanks for the help!

[Q]Ressurection Remix Rom install questions from a noob

Hello everyone,
I've been using normal andriod with touchwiz for about a year now and Im really in the mood for something new. I've been reading up on ics but was dissapointed to hear that the ui hardly changes due to touchwiz.
So I've been reading up on ROMS and the whole development thing and i'm now contemplating trying to install one. From a lot of reactions it sounds really exciting though I also read that a lot can go wrong.
So I've been thinking about ressurection remix and have been watching those movies at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854
I have a few questions about it, perhaps someone who installed it can explain.
First question, there is a guide to install a rom and a guide to install a kernel, but in the movie the guy says that the rom comes with the kernel preinstalled. So why is there a guide for the kernel then? Do i need to install a seperate kernel at the end for the ultimate experience or can i just ignore that part?
I can save my apps with titanium backup right? Does it save all the settings in apps too or only the apps themselves?
Any other tips/advice for a beginner or should i just try the guide on that site and see if me and my phone survives?
Thanks in advance.
If the kernel come preinstalled you needn't worry about flashing another kernel, but I'd recommend checking out a few different kernels to see which one suites your needs.
Titanium backup backs up the app and the apps data.
Extra advice: make a full backup with CWM!
If you're not happy with that ROM, check out MIUI, it has plenty of themes, including ICS.

Ok guys I want very solid but the problem I have is that the explenation im trying to carefully follow on here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854
.. is for 9.7. Now I was planning to follow that step by step and there is a 9.6 file to download but is there a explenation for that too? for example i dont see gaps for remix and gapsfixer (or i dont need that for this 9.6?) anything else thats different for this installation?
Final question this 1.0 version you speak of is it worth just waiting for that or will that take too long (or might the difference be too small?).
Hi,
I've been using V9.7 for a week and everything works for me.
If i remember : yes you need a "gapps.zip" and a "gappsfixer.zip" for V9.6.
You've to follow the same setps (as for V9.7) :
- install V9.6 Remix
- install gapps
- install gappsfixer
- dalvik cache
- and then reboot
V1.0 is gonna be based on the official ics. So its def something to get when it comes out.
He has said its gonna take 7-10 days though
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
And i believe the gaps are the same for every rom.

Ok so i hardly started and im already running into my first challenge. Rooting. The guide for installing the rom says i have to root the device first. I've used the other guide for that
http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s2/
And it installs the zerglings it seems but after reboot i do not get a superuser.
The post you follow says : if "not" retry again step 10...so you have to do it again...

after installing the 3 files above in that order .. isnt it
- wipe cache
- enter "advanced" on menu .. then
- wipe dalvik cache
- fix permissions
I've noticed they omitted the fix permissions part on 9.7?? but I still did it
Also I agree v9.6 is more stable without the display errors of white on white and black on black text, plus you can install LPJ kernel on v9.6 (i'd try Siyah's not the one on westcrip's rom page)
I'm using Siyah without any problems.. no fc's
I think if you install Siyah's after you've freshly installed 9.6 may have something to do with it not causing fc's .. don't know why tho?..

[Q]{SOLVED} CM11 camera not working.

First of all Thanks @kashifmin bro for the cm11 port to a116
I started using cm11 from the 0.5 version but when v0.8 came and after i flashed that my camera stopped working
tinypic[dot]com/r/25f5921/8
Sorry cant post pics
I tried everything,re flashed my device removed the cache, installed other roms to reset it,installed manually, etc.
The camera is working in other roms, i dont know why :/
I've tried everything that other people told to fix this problem, nothing worked.
I think the problem is because of the torch app in the newer versions :/
I have tried uninstalling it manually using Link2SD.
Is there any way to not let it install while flashing?
Can any one help me?
Thank you.
Edit : I found a solution to this problem,go in the recovery menu and then in advance and then format \system.

I will not answer crazy questions. The is the USA(Cellular south) version. I don't have time to make other countries versions. I do many, many inverted apps, help many other themers, and rom dev.. So please dont ask, becuase they will go unanswered(ignored) by me.. I just dont have the time..
If the debloated version has something removed, it's removed. I may put up seperate flashign packages to brign some back.
NO MODS are in these. These are so other dev can have a good base to start with..
Revolution is my rom that will have Mods and theming.. that will in another thread..
Enjoy this for what it is... not just ask for more....

With these ROM(s) and or an update you got from device?
Plug into wall or computer?
Did you restore data/app?
Please if you have an issue give information, just coming into a thread and say somethigndoesn't work. No way to debug, figure out what is wrong..
As far as these two ROM's (They are very basic, stock ROM) have had no issue whatsoever with battery charging.
Will not show a charge if plugged into USB. meant to do this, only a wall charger shows consistant charging on lock screen.

i did this with both roms debloated or not debloated have exactly same results.
what different informatie do you want to know?

Thank you for additional info.
Only diff is I am using TWRP recovery.
I can't reproduce this issue at all on my tablet. Any type of 'fix" would be pure guess work...
Ideas
1. Odin back to stock
2. Test to see if battery problem exist. (very key) Still happens, I am going take a leap of faith... your hardware..
3. Take the update of firmware (NG1).. Battery problem still exist?
4. Flash full NG1 (Do not, I repeat do Not tell SU to disable Knox) Does battery problem exist.
Do not for any reason restore any app data whatsoever....
List apps you install...
If you try those and report back.. maybe.. Not sure...

Charged fine for me last night no issues. I installed the debloated version clean full wipe using TWRP.
First of all, thanks for this new ROM.
Problem is, I use Nova Launcher for all of my devices and this Rom causes a force close with the launcher. I used latest Philz. Used Titanium Backup to restore and it gets hung up, then went to market to install with the same result.
Thanks

I installed the Debloated version. Like all of the garbage removed. Tibu just seems to get hung up for me on not only Nova, but other apps as well.
I installed Nova from market after Tibu failed, install sucessful, but still FC. I do not understand what you mean by catalog.
I will try to install again later today. Like the debloated Rom. Thanks

A good rule of thumb is to avoid all use of Titanium Backup for system app restore after a fresh rom install. Sometimes even for data apps, restoring them via Titanium Backup can yield undesired outcomes.
Your best bet may be too reflash the rom, and use Titanium Backup for xml file format only (bookmarks, etc). In other words, a new rom may respond best to a clean install of your setup (more work, but that's part of the process of changing roms).

The base full version, I notice it's a zip file. Can U simply do a clean flash via TWRP or should I use odin?

Yes, you flash it in recovery (TWRP, CWM, etc).
