just the theme. flash back to stock is when you want to unroot right?

Themes are very rom specific. You should probly turn to the themes and apps forum to find a stock theme that matches the rom your using. Read the op carefully to make sure the theme matches. The forum search icon will help narrow your list.

[q] what is the best way to get rid of a theme?

is making/restoring a nandroid backup the proper (official) way to get rid of an unwanted theme?
are there other or better ways to do it?
thanks
Just flash the new theme you want it will overwrite the theme, you can go into the phone and delete the old file but they are so little why bother

Did you make a nandroid backup?

Flash the rom again last resort.

Well some/most themes nowadayz have a flashable revert that will remove the theme....another way is to restore a Nandroid (that you should've made prior to flashing a theme)
Last resort is to push the framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, Phone.apk...etc....all stock apks from your ROM package back to your phone and reboot....or just re-flash your ROM

[Q] (Q) how to change color background in messaging thread

i know this is stupid question and i know that this can be found in setting. i already change it before from blue/yellow to black when i was on stock rom. but when i flash litening rom, i cannot find it.
For some reason the KF1 firmware removed the SMS themes. Since Litening Rom is using the KF1, the theme option is gone. I tried the KF1 stock firmware and noticed that option is gone. Not sure if there is a reason for Samsung removing it or if its just that particular firmware version it is gone. Maybe it will be back in a future firmware. You could get it back by going back to KE7 or using a custom rom using that firmware. Thats the only way I can think of to get it back
oh i see, thats why i cannot find it, thanks a lot
I have the apk working fine if I use the pre-kf one on a new rom. That's how it works in vrtweaks too.

[Q] Do you have to uninstall theme before installing another?

I installed a custom theme and was wanting to try out a different one. I am on the UnNamed 1.0.3 rom, btw. Do I have to revert to the stock 1.0.3 theme before flashing a new one in CWM or can I just flash the new one without reverting?
Thanks.

You can just flash the new one. When you flash a theme, it replaces system files. Flashing a new theme will just replace the old theme files.
Thanks for the quick answer! You guys here are the best with helping out. I have always been an iPhone person, from the original to the 4, but finally wanted something new that I could actually mess around with. I can't believe it took me so long to go android!

Lol....that's what a lot of people say.
The only thing is, that some themes may not "theme" all of the same applications. So if you have a situation where one part of an old theme was retained, it means your new theme didn't change everything that maybe another theme chose to customize. In this situation, there are ways to revert that part to stock or even to a different theme. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there lol.
Good luck.
If you end up changing themes alot, you can always just flash the rom again and then do whatever theme you wanted. Flashing a rom will always undo all theme changes.
Let's say I was to flash the same rom again (UnNamed 1.0.3). Would I need to do a wipe first? Thanks again for all the help.

Generally, no. Most people will say yes. If you're updating from UnNamed to a newer version of it, then no.

How to install themes on samsung i777?

I was just curious if someone could point me in the right direction on what i need to do in order to install a nice theme on my phone. I have an i777 and i dont want to brink the thing since I just got it so im only being cautious. Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum im a noob.
install CWM kernel
flash rom of choosing in CWM
flash theme of choosing that works with chosen rom, in CWM
reboot
you arent going to install themes on stock, unrooted, non-cwm....its possible without CWM, but thats above your paygrade

Most themes are made for a specific firmware version or ROM. Usually, Settings > About Phone will tell you in the Build number. (Or just know what ROM you are running).
The themers in the i777 and i9100 sections are both pretty explicit in listing what firmwares their themes are compatible with.

standard theme

hey guys there is a stupid question..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467814
in this rom you can decide between themes..
so if you took an and flashed it, how can you return to the standard one?
That Rom uses jkays mods so if you are asking how to restore a stock theme on that Rom then jkay always has a stock theme to go with his mods. If apps are themed then you can research that in that thread.
If your asking how to restore stock Rom then search intratechs thread. It's all there.

If you are on a certain ROM and flash a theme and want to go back what you need to do is re-flash the "stock theme" again. You will need to ask the Dev if he has the Stock Theme to reflash. To avoid not being able to go back then you could make a nandroid backup of your stock ROM so if you want it will always be there just incase no-one has the Stock Theme to re-flash again.
