standard theme - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys there is a stupid question..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467814
in this rom you can decide between themes..
so if you took an and flashed it, how can you return to the standard one?

That Rom uses jkays mods so if you are asking how to restore a stock theme on that Rom then jkay always has a stock theme to go with his mods. If apps are themed then you can research that in that thread.
If your asking how to restore stock Rom then search intratechs thread. It's all there.

If you are on a certain ROM and flash a theme and want to go back what you need to do is re-flash the "stock theme" again. You will need to ask the Dev if he has the Stock Theme to reflash. To avoid not being able to go back then you could make a nandroid backup of your stock ROM so if you want it will always be there just incase no-one has the Stock Theme to re-flash again.

[q] what is the best way to get rid of a theme?

is making/restoring a nandroid backup the proper (official) way to get rid of an unwanted theme?
are there other or better ways to do it?
thanks
Just flash the new theme you want it will overwrite the theme, you can go into the phone and delete the old file but they are so little why bother

Did you make a nandroid backup?

Flash the rom again last resort.

Well some/most themes nowadayz have a flashable revert that will remove the theme....another way is to restore a Nandroid (that you should've made prior to flashing a theme)
Last resort is to push the framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, Phone.apk...etc....all stock apks from your ROM package back to your phone and reboot....or just re-flash your ROM

[Q] Can you flash a theme over stock samsung rom

I'm just wondering if its possible to flash a theme over a stock 2.2 rom from Samsung. My phone is rooted and has superuser access and everything. I just don't want to flash a ROM as I have already bricked one device.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks
You know there's about the same possibility you're gonna run into some issues when flashing a theme like that of flashing a rom.
While it MAY be possible to theme the stock rom if it was deodexed, blagh blagh... why not just flash a rom? You could be done in a matter of 10 minutes and have a superior phone.
Last time, how did you brick? That's REALLY hard to do.
Follow my guides in my signature....
EDIT, just saw you had Telus, which I am not familiar with.
It is NOT possible to flash a theme over a stock ROM.
The ROM is not deodexed and will cause issues with the theme. It is possible to flash themes over Deodexed stock roms though. But you'd have to flash such a rom FIRST.
Like the suggestion above me, flash a whole ROM. Click on my setup in my signature to see an example of what you can do with a custom ROM.
Flash a ROM dude.
It's not hard, I can tell you.
Just follow instructions precisely and don't use ODIN.
Just Root > Install ROM Manager > Install rom from SD card.
That's pretty much everything(in most cases), don't see how you can screw up that.
BTW, were you completely sure that you bricked the phone beyond repair?

Reverting back to stock ROM

I put a custom ROM on my GS2 for the first time, it involved updating a kernel.
However I really don't like the custom rom I installed and now I want to go back to the stock ROM but with the samsung stuff froze/removed.
Could anyone tell me how to do this please? I'm not sure where to download the stock ROM's from and I'm not sure if I need to change the kernels again.
Cheers
I suppose you just need to d'load a stock ROM and flash it via odin with the phone in download mode.
Very simple.
Stock rom post Dev section .
Remove Samsung bloatware script should be in the same section .
jje
If you made a nandroid backup you can just restore it completely and everything should be back to the way it was.

[Q] about custom roms

hi guys i use nexus s and i want to install a custom rom. but can i go back to stock rom if i don't like the custom rom or can i get the official updates(like ICS) while in custom rom?
Yes, you can revert back to a stock ROM if you choose... and no, you can't get "official" updates once on a custom ROM. But there will be plenty of customs ROMs based on ICS in the future... depending on your device, of course.

just the theme. flash back to stock is when you want to unroot right?
Themes are very rom specific. You should probly turn to the themes and apps forum to find a stock theme that matches the rom your using. Read the op carefully to make sure the theme matches. The forum search icon will help narrow your list.
