Old Bootloader and New Bootloader - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok so i wanted to reset the counter using usb jig.. but i went and updated via kies to KI8.. so i went to HERE and downloaded old bootloader the package one..
All packages below this point have the old bootloader so you can safely reset the binary counter with a Jig.
If you've already flashed a full package from elsewhere or updated using KIES and cannot reset your binary counter using the Jig just flash this package in the PDA or Bootloader section of Odin to replace the bootloaders and then you can reset the counter: http://www.multiupload.com/LQQBRQVJUD
Here are the new bootloader tarball if you want to flash them back after resetting your binary counter: http://www.multiupload.com/5LNOCL7KPV

and went using the latest odin which is 1.85 and flashed old bootloader into my SGS2 via PDA option and it seemed abit slower than the "original/new" bootloader
so question is:
does new bootloader boot faster than the old one?

Am not sure if there is any difference between the bootloaders but I flashed the newer one after wiping the binary counter just to be sure

one more question.. i have official rom with old bootloader if i flash in speedmod will it mess up with bootloader at all? do i need to flash old bootloader back or will it just flash kernel?

Just flash the kernel.

Erasing Download information Succeded not showing

Hey
Rooted my phone and loaded up ultratoxic rom and Siyah Kernal via Odin
Put in the jig to go into download mode and the screen does not show the message Download information Succeded not showing
It shows
Factory Mode
Product Name
Custom Binary Download Yes (4 Counts)
Current Binary :Custom
So the triangle does not disappear is there something I am doing wrong or need to do?
Did you install any stock ki based roms before that? Could of swore since ki roms came out samsung basically disabled the counter from being reset in the bootloader and you needed a totally different usb jig to reset it now.
Yeah, the new bootloader doesn't allow the counter to be erased. But you can always flash the old bootloader, there should be a thread somewhere.
Its cos yourve flashed the new modded Sammy bootloader that cant be wiped. You need to flash via Odin the old bootloader in PDA.
http://www.multiupload.com/LQQBRQVJUD
Put it in PDA,dont select anything else, just hit START and your done in 3sec.
you can find latest firmwares with the old bootloader pre-installed here for further flashing.

Hello all you experts out there i need some help if at all possible,
I have been flashing my galaxy s2 and have clocked up a binary count of 12 and would like to reset to 0.
I used odin and re-flashed to stock I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1
then did a factory re-set.
then plugged in kies and it automaticly updated to latest firmware XWKI4.
Then i turned phone off booted in to download mode and inserted my jig to reset the counter but it didn't work.
what am i doing wrong????

Use Ctrl-F in your browser to find the description for GT-I9100_OLD_BOOTLOADER.7z. Download it and flash it using Odin, then use your jig to reset the binary counter.
You should change your bootloader to an old one.. New bootloaders are not reseting counter..
Here is the old one:

Flashing with Mobile ODIN does NOT increase your custom kernel flash counter or make the yellow warning triangle appear. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
Thanks to all for the help
i'll certainly look at mobile odin, but how do i use this ctrl thingy
Put jig in before rebooting normally (not into download mode) the device with jig in will automatically boot into download mode. If you are on old bootloader it will reset.
If not intratech has the old bootloader for download in his official firmware thread. Read down from 1st post till you find it. Instructions are there also.

XWKL1 reset flash count with USB JIG

Hey guys
I was wondering. My S2's build no. is XWKL1. If I root it by flashing CF-root can the flash count be reset with a usb jig? Or do I have to downgrade? Same question for if I wanna flash a custom ROM (Resurrection remix).
1st you dont have to root to erase your odin binary count, 2nd just try, put your jig in there for 12 seconds and if you dont see ODIN COUNT=NO that means it didnt work and you need to downgrade yours bootloader, just go to the stock rom's link in my signature, theres an whole how to somewhere in the post

Trying to get back to completely stock

I'm trying to get back to completely stock before return the Note. These are the steps I found in another thread. I was coming from the UCLF leak but the baseband is still showing UCLF.
1) Flash stock odin through Odin
2) Flash CWM Recovery through Odin
3) Flash AT&T Reset Flash Counter Zip through CWM Recovery
4) root without tripping the flash counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1518962
5) unroot without tripping the flash counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=133
After doing this, I thought everything looks stock until I noticed that the baseband was still on UCLF5. Did I flash the wrong stock odin?

[Q] Stock recovery in CWM flashable form - anyone have a link to SDS safe version?

Decided to switch from custom recovery method to using mobile Odin for flashing, so the bootloader flash counter can be reset - kernel is also stock.
I can find threads for modems, bootloaders and kernels but the only links to stock recovery I could find was sticky threads and over a year old, so not SDS safe.
Does anyone have a recent .zip CWM flashable version please? I'm keeping the custom ROM I've already got, so don't really want to flash fully stock just to get the recovery.
Thanks.
Also, reading through those stickies some of the advice and files they link to are well out of date - noobs could end up flashing ICS if they follow some of them.
There's a safe stock recovery in the cf auto root tar. Maybe that'll flash via mobile odin?
Or take an existing recovery cwm.zip (example philz recovery) and put the recovery image from cf auto root or any official rom in it instead

Thanks, didn't think of that - it flashed in mobile odin and installed recovery perfectly, but removed root. Had to flash again on the pc to regain root, triangled away and updated the bootloader and I'm now at peace with my warranty information.
System is still modified, as it's rooted but I can live with that.

Yeah I have modified status only. Since I have an ICS bootloader (I don't use download mode) I don't have flash counter increased.
