Hi !! This is my first android device so please forgive me if I ask something wrong.
I want to update my phone firmware to another.
This is the current situation :
PDA :I9100 XWKE2
PHONE : I9100 XXKDJ
CSC : I9100 OXFKD4
Product : GT-I9100LKAVVT (Romanian I presume, MAY)
I want to switch to I9100XWKF3_OJVKF1_XXKF1 rom (Turkey) that I downloaded from samfirmware
The problem is this package has 5 files in it.
I should update, PDA,PHONE,CSC from odin that is ok, but do I need to update kernel or even pit.
Could someone explain it to me the settings and components I need for flashing, I'd appreciate it...

Tried flashing per samfimrware intructions. Been Happly using KF3 ever after.
Tried to avoid bumping this thread by editing my post. I hope it worked and thanks to anyone who replied.
PHONE is for modem.bin
PDA is for firmware (.md5) or kernel (.tar)

I've got a UK t-mobile samsung s2 and I just wanted to check which insecure kernel I should be using, I am planning to use odin and s2root
Carrier-Tmobile
PDA:i9100bokg2
csc:i9100bokg1
csci9100tmukf1
I looked on the carrier branded firmwares and could not find insecure kernals, only roms and stock kernels
Therefor I assume I should use xxkg2?

That's the link for the BOKG2 insecure kernel.
I too kit from Odia's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101671.
You just have to flash that kernal via odin (PDA, no repartition).
If you're using s2 root app follow this thread's instructions to the letter:

EDIT: After you finish rooting to can download from the same Odia thread, the original BOKG2 kernel (just look in the thread), and flash it through odin exactly as you flashed the insecure kernel. Anyway, this is just optional, you can look at the s2 root thread, this is also explained.

Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie question but I’m a bit confused with connection between ROMs and Modems.
I have flashed a few custom ROMs to my SGS2 and have found that some of the cooks have included modems in their ROMs.
To my understanding Modems are specific per country and not all modems work well in all countries. I am located in Israel and the official Samsung ROM from the mobile provider is I9100TJIKG1
After flashing a custom ROM (SensatioN by CRYSIS) using CWM I found that I no longer have HSPA and my maximum connection speed is Edge.I tried dong a restore from CWM this restored my ROM but not the modem. I then flashed back to my original ROM via Odin (was able to find a copy) but this does full flash.
My questions are as follows
Is there a way to flash just the modem via CWM or Odin? (preferably CWM)
Does the Modem have to be compatible with the ROM?
If I find a custom ROM I like can change just the Modem?
How do I choose a modem? Is there any logic in the naming of the modems that can help me identify if the modem is compatible prior to flashing?

Hi... Anybody know how to make ODIN Flashable modems?
I heard its dangerous to mess up with modem and bootloader so I am humbly asking for your help on how to make one for myself.
I'm currently in philippines and I'm using I9300XXEMA2 with Modem I9300DXELK1.
I wanted to extract the modem on the firmware either from my phone or from my PC (using full firmware 800+mb in size) and make a ODIN flashable TAR.
My Reason is this..
I want to flash the latest android update for my Galaxy SIII and at the same time I want to use the latest Modem from the country I am in right now which is Philippines.
In short I want to flash the modem I9300DXELK1 (latest) over the latest firmware from other Region.
I am looking forward for your favorable replies.
