Rom manager question - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought my atrix already rooted and it has gingerblur 4.5 on it.
As im not really knowledgeable on roms and such i have mainly 2 doubts
My first is on using rom manager over my already romd phone...is that safe or a recipe for bricking my phone.
My second is on going back to stock...not familiar with the process im told it is necesary for the gingerbread upgrade.

You have a bit of reading ahead of you. First of all you need to unlock the bootloader..

[Q] Can I use Clock Work Mod from Market?

Hello,
I'm a little confused between customer recovery Tenfar written and CWM which people refer to from different developer (and separate application in Market). Are those interchangable? Can I install clockworkmod from Market and use it bootloader unlocked Atrix?
I have actually been wondering the same thing...I used to use ROM Manager and the standard Clockwork Recovery on ny Captivate and was wondering if the same was possible now.

Don't know what forums you came from mate, we're not trolling here. Unless you post a question in the development forum, which you didn't! ;-)
You need to be on 1.8.3 to unlock. No clue about permaroot.

Sorry but is NOT A MUST to be in 1.8.3
But I agree is the smart way to do it, to work around the softbrick for first time users with already 2.3.4/4.5.91

Can phone update while running unnamed?

I tried to get the new PTA update from art but the installation failed twice. Are any unnamed/custom rom users having this problem?

* OTA update

NEVER a good idea to do an OTA update when running a custom ROM. Also, I believe the "Update phone" option is removed from UnNamed.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
So how would I remove the rom to install the new update? Also, unnamed leaves the update phone and even keeps on the 24 hour rule

I think you can restore a nandroid of stock rom and proceed as normal.

UnNamed is already running the kk6 2.3.6 update...so why ota? :/
..maybe I'm missing something with your question. Sorry.

In my phone info it says I'm running android version 2.3.4. Maybe I missed a rom update?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
UnNamed 2.0 and above is updated to 2.3.6. If you are using an older version of unNamed all you have to do is update to newer version and you're good to go.

Did you try looking in the Dev forum? How did you flash unnamed if you are this clueless?
What I meant to ask is that roes unnamed update or do I have to manually download 2.0?

You're joking, right?
houston, we have a problem...
OP you need to manually update yourself and yes UnNamed ROM gets updates...if that's what your asking. But the other thing you need to do is go back to the basics of learning what you are doing. The questions your asking are things you should already know if your gonna be Modding/flashing your phone. This is how people brick their phones .. there's more than enough info at your fingertips right here in xda. You just gotta read, and if you don't understand something, ask and read some more!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
Every time a new ROM is released for unnamed, you need to download it and manually update it. There is no ota.
If you're lucky your phone will get 1 OTA from AT&T over the lifetime of your phone if you are stock. Custom ROMs, like UnNamed and many others on this forum on the other hand gets goodies pretty much once a week. If you keep up with that ROM's thread, you won't have any issues. You will find that as soon as you have a problem, there is likely a solution in the thread already. The search button should be your best friend. Most people are more than happy to help, unless you are asking them to spoon fed you the solution.
