Anyone familiar with CIQ, and how it relates to our Streaks?

Dell doesn't use it. I searched for signs of its existence in my Streak running 360 and found none.

Just a quick thread, i used the Dell Streak Unlocker program after being told by Att and Dell that the phone couldn't be unlocked, and after reading reviews of another program that weren't so kind, so i figured i would try this one. The program worked and i am now using another company's SIM, but i noticed that a few times since i unlocked it yesterday that it is registering "NO SIM" intermittently. So i am wondering is this is something anyone else has noticed after unlocking their Streak or if this is something occurring in Streaks in general?
Got my Streak unlocked by O2 and have never faced any such problem.
To be honest I have used the dell streak unlocker .. and my phone works great on simple mobile. . What it sounds like to me is something hardware.. this brings me back to when my iPhone use to have this problem along with a sidekick 2 I had (yess had an iPhone and sidekick 2 ) any how with the sidekick there was no hope but with the iPhone a new sim did the trick do some more research before getting a new similar or anything

If you don't mind me asking what program did you use. I'm thinking of unlocking from att to go to tmobile. Do you know if all streaks can be unlocked and does it work on tmobiles 3G bands
I was wondering if it might be the SIM, i know ive swapped it to and from so many different phones that i was wondering if its just not making a great connection anymore. Thanks for the quick replies all. Also in regards to the t mobile bands, as far as i know the streak has the 2100 band, but is lacking the 1700 that t mobile also uses, would be a good question for t mobile as to where they default to when it comes to their band.
If the unlocking software referenced here is this one below....

then yes, I did for the first day or so get a NO SIM notice on my Streak, but that since has gone away. I was actually going to post an endorsement for this program before I looked for, and found this one. I had some trouble at the beginning that I sought support out for, and was rather speedily greeted back the proper instruction. I'm a former Rogers customer and have now switched over to Telus for $30 less than Rogers was trying to charge me. Complete success I would say.
I just called AT&T up and got an unlock code (fibbed & said I was traveling out of the country) & took all of 20 minutes with all the being put on hold. The Rep said that I needed to pop in the other company's SIM in order for my Streak to ask for the unlock code. Is there a way I can unlock with my code without having a non-AT&T SIM card? She also gave me the PUK code, so do I need to use both?
The puk code should be specific to the sim card itself(?)
It's for if you lock the card and forget the unlock code or something for it (completely unrelated to unlocking the phone itself)
There might be a "unlock" menu entry under settings -> wireless -> mobile networks
if it isnt there/doesnt work you will need to pop in a foreign sim card (any card that isnt on the locked network)
Does anyone know if the Bell Atrix and the AT&T version share the same IMEI number?
Just wondering if I can use the Bell Atrix and still use the att unlimited media net package
Don't quote me but i don't believe so. sorry =(

Hi,
It is unique to each phone, has nothing to do with carriers. Stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity.
Cheers!
Normally the first numbers are the same for each brand (HTC, Motorola, Sony) carriers can look at that and see who made the phone

I would suspect that any numbers indicating that would be the same for all carriers. Regardless, it's more likely just a range of numbers (batches bought from M) they use for that as to what they allow on their network. If there is any filtering done by the specific carrier.
Cheers!

Lately there have been articles about carriers spying on users using Carrier ID, a set of code imbedded in the android ROM. does anyone know if we have such a thing on the Atrix 4g? I did run a program found here for other phones and it did not detect CIQ.
There is already a thread on this with the answer you are trying to find.
found it but no real answer, it seems moto has not used CIQ but could be using their own method, I just want to know how far it goes...
I been reading a lot of stuff on carrier Iqwan which was said to captured almost everything you do with your phone especially android.
Which modded rom disabled this and can any developers here can confirm that it is enable and avalaible in androids?
Thanks

Have a look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17612559&postcount=110
theres some info and an app to remove it there
Tried it on my phone and it's not installed
Carrier iq is only on american phones from att/verizone/sprint/tmobile, america simply likes being spied on.
Just got a brand new unlocked dell venue, put in my Att sim,and all I get is Edge??? What gives?? I know this phone doesn't support T-Mobiles 3 or 4g,but it IS supposed to support 3g on Att. If anyone knows the solution for this, please tell. I'm ready to pitch this thing into the wall....

Is your modem version -US or -AWS?
There IS T-Mobile AWS version and it sounds like exactly what you received. Also, check the service tag (under battery) on Dell's website and it should tell you exactly what you have.
