I got into CWM pressing on / off 3 or 4 times when sony ericsson appears on screen and increases the brightness!
But I would warn you that the keys are confused, when I press the home key the selection bar up as if by pressing volume up! But volume buttons are correct!
The hard keys are not confused. They should work like this. The soft keys should work under recovery also.BACK for getting into the previous menu and MENU works like volume down.
Can i install this on my ST15a? And under this kernel can i use the feature Apps2sd? Thanks.
You can install it on your ST15a and you will not experience any functionality problem.
BUT you will almost certainly encounter problems if you try to update via SEUS.
(Even if the installation is complete)
About Apps2sd now. What exactly do you want to achieve?
I can assure you that every function of cwm works perfectly!

Something like cyanogen mode. That the rom install the apps in a previously created ext partition. I have no problems whit the Seus issue, as long a can use it at least, to restore the smartphone to "normal" if something's gone terribly wrong.
Enviado desde mi E10i usando Tapatalk
What i meant by the word "problems" is that SEUS will almost for sure recognize your phone as an ST15i.So SEUS will repair your phone as an ST15i and not as an ST15a.
You can format your sd using cwm and create whatever partition you want.

Ok. It is possible to "fix" that by changing the letter "i" by the letter "a" in the buid.prop file in system? And how do i create the ext partition in recovery mode? Once created; ¿how the SE firware save the apps in there? It doe's automatically? Or I've to use an app like apps2sd to do so. Another question as this firmware is Rooted, ¿Busibox iso installed? Thanks a lot an excuse me if i'm a bit annoying ...
Enviado desde mi E10i usando Tapatalk
It would be better to copy your old bulid.prop file and compare it line by line with the new one.Change everything that has to do with the model type of your device.
You can create the ext partition using the partition sd card option which lies under the advanced menu of cwm.
You can use the app s2e from the market for transfering your apps to ext partition. The kernel has busybox installed and is rooted also.

What about your experience using this ROM? what improvements have you encounter personally? Any drawbacks? Thanks...
Actually it is not a full rom.Just a kernel.Everything works exactly like stock. So you have all the advantages (stability) of stock kernel and all the drawbacks (lack of customization) of stock kernel.
The basic improvement is that you have root access and a fully functional cwm.

maybe you don't have the busybox installed...
I did root my x10 using z4root permenant rooting and busy box was ok and xrecovery worked fine automatically..
used the custom rom freedom 8b and back to the original SE rom ,, which amazed me great work,,
now I used the custom rom black freedom 7a and the xrecovery wont install either automatically nor manually !! am kinda stuck with this rom,, tried rerooting and rebooted million times..
If anyone can help would be grateful
Thanks
manually copy the 3 files (chargemon, xrecovery, etc) into the /system/bin folder and make sure that you have the version of busybox from the market installed.
to manually copy these files u will need root explorer and make sure that you are mounted in RW mode.
I just did that and it works! Woo hoo!! Runs a treat with linpack around 33, still hasn't fixed the stuttering audio but hoping se will sort that in next update... fingers crossed

Xrecovery not working after latest stock rom
Xrecovery is definitely not working on my X10i after I stupidly re-installed the latest stock Rom... I have done all the normal steps and it now does not work... I have previously had various roms on this phone and now Xrecovery is not working im worried I'm stuck with the stock rom. Now don't ask me to press the back button and copy the files into the System folder...I've done all that I'm telling you there is something in the latest stock rom to block it in my opinion.

Sorry for english and it doesn't solve your problem I'm sorry
I'm a little stuck here and I'm not sure how this happened. I'm using a rooted X10a. I tried installing XRecovery and BusyBox so I could change ROMs again (I've tested a few) and somewhere along the way somthing happened and now after the phone boots, it doesnt recognize the SD Card, there is no notification/status bar and an Force Close message pops up "Process system is not responding". Then after a few minutes, it reboots itself. I've finally be able to connect it to Droid Explorer. The normal "holding the back button while plugging in the data cable" is not putting the phone into flash mode. I'm at my wits end, as I have been dealing with this for 2 days. Please if anyone has any ideas, any help would be appreciated. I really miss my Android
Conflict caused by double install of busybox? Or are you entirely sure it wasn't installed anymore? What happened to me was, I totally forgot that I already had busybox installed (though, not visible) and what happened was it conflicted with the other busybox/xrecovery hence breaking xrecovery and giving me almost the same symtoms you are experiencing. Unfortunately for you, I was able to just get into flashmode.. I take you tried SEUS?
What rom are you on ?
Sounds like you have messed up your xrecovery path.
Once you install xrec you dont need to install busybox as it depends on a certain version. I sugest you read z's xrecovery thread for more answers.
Hope you get it sorted.

open the flashtool click flash, select firmware click ok.
then do again my instructions above.
I click "Flash" in the flash tool but when I go to select the firmware, it does not show up where I put it. Do i need a certain format of file?
You have to download the firmware and flashtool from here. To get the phone in flash mode follow X10b directions
i had the exact same problem in wolfbreak's 2.2 rom after i installed busybox again, it wouldn't flash with flashtool, etc, what i did to fix it was after it was booted, i opened flashtool and connected the usb, and after it said process system not responding i pressed wait, then clicked on flashtool install root, next to flash button, it installed and then it rebooted, then after it rebooted, i clicked on ask root perms, then the superuser thing popped up and i pressed allow, then quickly i clicked on flashtool install xrecovery, and it installed!!! Then I rebooted and xrecovery worked, so I restored a nandroid backup I had and then my phone was back to normal
I had this problem after editing chargemon in windows. Copy the chargemon from recovery.zip using adb push, then chmod 06755. Thats work for me

Help plz. I had heard that it would take ages however about 1 and a half hours have passed, it is still stuck in bootlogo. What can I do?
Hi...what you do is remove the program manually through xrecovery...get into xrecovery and scroll down to partition tools...then go to mount usb...from there scroll and find the file on your computer...i forget the exact name but i think its called "data image". Delete that via usb from your computer and it should solve it.

The only way to install data2sd without bootloop issue is to flash it using xrecovery at the same time as new rom. NO REBOOT INBETWEEN!!! Worth doing tho as its working on mine with cm 2.2 v4.5 with 4.5.7update and boosts quadrant score from 1400 to 2400. So I installed 4.5 zip 4.5.7 zip gapps zip then data2sd zip with no reboot in-between. Works a charm
Sent from my x10i running custom CM 2.2 rom. Quadrant score 2490
Do you actually see a notable change? I feel a quadrant score is just a quadrant score and no drastic effect can be seen.
Two big improvements are no lag when running multiple apps in background and an extra 45 MB of phone memory

Also stuck at bootlogo...
But since installing data2SD i am also unable to acces xRecovery
I even tried it without SD card and SIM card but with no luck.
So i'm still stuck at the SonyEricsson boot logo.
What are my alternatives to regain access?
BTW: Using CM7 2.3.3
Flash the original SE rom using flashtool..I had the same..you need to be quick to press 'ok' if flashtool asks you to connect ur phone in recovery mode.
check the topsticky in this forum.

And with flashing the original firmware, does it also mean that i need to install xrecovery again?

installing this will replace the previous version. nothing to worry.
No Sony logo at boot, works fine otherwise. Keeping the vol.down button pressed won't work, you have to press the volume down button several times in order to enter cwm. It's doing a backup right now, I think it won't be considerably faster than the previous version, but menu text is easier to read.
EDIT: sorry, my bad. It is A LOT faster than the previous cwm made by atis112. Previous cwm did a backup in about 30-40 minutes, this one did it in 8 minutes. Great work!

Well, I'm afraid there must be a problem somewhere. It seems that sd mount works, I can mount and unmount the sd-card via mount menu, but the nandroid that I just made is only 17MB... Maybe that's why it took so little time to do that. I'll re-run a recovery in a moment to see what's going on.

Hi,
Without really giving it a second thought I went and encrypted my device. I didn't think I'd be stuck with this rom and/or that CWM would become worthless.
I made plans on selling this one to buy SGS4 instead, when it hits the market and I wanted to do an as proper sale ad possible.
I need help decrypting the device and if possible unroot it and installing the original TouchWiz. I'd be saticfied with a rooted device, as well, only with the original "rom".
Any help is appreciated!

Oh right.. And now it's narrowed down to two alternatives! Does it matter which one of the Swedish ones I choose? VDS or HTS?

In general it doesn't matter.
It's just a question of Bloatware.
Think about the CSC as android+carrier-ware.
If you have a backup of your esf partition there is a small file with your device csc.

Help here please, badly needed
hi Everyone,
Im using S3 I9300 rooted with stock rom
I was going through this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1772234) where it showed how to swipe ur sd card as internal memory and vice virsa but required a kernel with int.l something which I dint have .
In order to follow the instructions I downloaded the file; MVLALH1_Insecure_kernel_CWM and flashed it on my phone. then I downloaded the file from the post (extsd2internalsd2_mattiadj_and_infx_6) and flashed it through CMW but my phone dint read my SD card as internal memory so I read more
EXTRACT FROM THE POST:
THE GUIDE
First of all make a nandroid backup!! I'm not responsable for any problem! You make this procedure at your risk!!!1. Format external sd card from your pc as fat32 or extfat
2. Copy attached zip in you external sd. Choose the right zip. If you have formatted your sd as fat32 choose _fat32 version, if the filesystem is extfat choose _extfat version
3. Go into recovery
4. Flash the zip
5. Reboot and....enjoy your memory increase!!!!
I'm on official jelly bean with kernel with init.d support but the mod seems not working or my kernel/rom does not support init.d
1. Flash the mod
2.Install script manager from play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...51bGwsMSwyLDNd
3.Open script manager, click on browse as root then ok
4.Choose the file name 11extsd2internalsd located in /system/etc/init.d and click on Script/Executable
5.Now tap on Su, Boot and Save
6.Reboot your phone and enjoy!
[/COLOR]
So I went on the second paragraph of instructions and downloaded the script manager and went to the 11extsd2internalsd file. I was told to select the option script/executable but couldn't find any option having both so selected executable and then selected SU and BOOT and then restarted my phone
Now Im not sure when it happened but my S3 is not detecting my sim card thou my sim is working perfectly and I have no clue how to fix it
please can anyone help me I tried to explain as best I could but still please ask if u want to know more cuz right now my s3 is without sim card

Did what you guys suggested yesterday but what you said wasn't entirely true. Flashing the stock firmware from download mode worked fine, but it actually just put me in an even more sticky situation.
My current situation: device still rooted and still encrypted, only difference is that it won't acceptt my old encryption password. In other words; I can't use the phone at all.
Any ideas to this problem? Is it possible to clear the internal memory and start from scratch perhaps?
Cheers.

My current situation: device still rooted and still encrypted, only difference is that it won't acceptt my old encryption password. In other words; I can't use the phone at all.
Any ideas to this problem? Is it possible to clear the internal memory and start from scratch perhaps?
Cheers.

Did you factory reset after the flash?
I didn't... I suppose it's fine with the usual reset in CWM?

Well if you are on stock it will be 3e recovery and a factory reset will wipe data AND sd card(internal) just so you are aware
