I flashed the newest update (2.3.4) this last weekend and although its been great with battery life, I cant seem to get the actual reporting to settle in.
When I take it off the charger its reporting 100%, and throughout
the day it obviously drains the battery. The problem is when I reboot the phone, it starts back up reporting 10-20% higher battery life then when I shut it down. So in reality, I have more battery life left then whats being reported.
I charged to 100% and wiped battery stats using bootstrap. Then drained the battery all the way, and charged all the way back to a full charge.
Can you guys think of anything else that may fix this issue?

I noticed this as well, I thought it was my Mugen Power battery giving false reports but it looks like it isn't the case..
I just don't reboot as often now, can't say I've noticed any problems other than that. My battery life has been excellent!

I normally can go about 14 hours or so off the charger. This past cycle, I went 36 hours, with normal use

Same thing here I had 80% rebooted and had 100 so I wiped battery stats this morning and I'm working on killing it now lol ......so far 8 hours and 70% left

Standard battery? Wow
I have never seen a number higher than 14hrs for me. But then again I am CONSTANTLY on my phone.
I want an extended battery but I like my otterbox to much. So I just carry a spare in my wallet.

Must have been a fluke. Today isn't the same story.

I've noticed the same thing, since flashing Eclipse v1.0
Seems to be a bug in the SBC file. Hopefully we have a fix after the soak test. Or maybe nitro will take a stab at it.

Mine is doing it too.
This is a very annoying bug. I went back to 2.3.3 until it's fixed.

Indeed it will, anything built from the 2.3.4 update will have the bug unless devs find a way to properly fix it.
i hope a fix comes soon but it pry won't be from motorola. i don't see them sending out an update just for one issue unless they have some other issues to fix that i haven't heard about yet. hopefully sooner than later
I have this also, as well as random reboots.
2.3.4 didn't really do much for me, the only real difference I notice were that random reboots now happen every 2 or 3 days instead of every day.
ya that's not good, the update was supposed to stop that. they've been doing these updates and creating the OS for all these devices for so long now id think they would have it pretty much down by now. maybe they need to do more testing before releases...idk...

This is the original one I believe
Tonight, for the second time, My droid X2 has died to the point where it wont turn on at all, or charge. Without any warning at all it just dies wont turn on except for the motorola boot logo when plugged into the wall. RSD protocol support says battery is too low to flash. Im not a stranger to this at all, with my previous droid X I had to use a USB chord rigged between the battery and the phone to trick the phone into thinking the battery will charge so that it would SBF, but that method refuses to work with my X2. This is the second time it has died for no reason at all like this. Last time I left it plugged in at the boot screen over night and I assume it charged enough because I could SBF it, so Ill try that again tonight. But I am sick and tired of not being able to simply rely on a rom to not screw my phone up without warning. I could at least solve the problem with my droid X, but I fear Ill be forced to actually purchase a new battery this time just so my phone will turn on even though the battery in it works, but simply wont charge because its dead? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks
Wish I had an answer,,but I'm on board with ya..with this much support and updates on progress,,along with everything that dose not work properly..and then a donation as well??we probably should have stayed with blackberry it palms

Maybe it's not the rom. Could be you have a bad battery. Try taking the battery out and check the contacts to see if they are dirty. You can use a pencil eraser to clean them off. Don't touch them with your fingers.
If you've had to do this before, it makes me think it could be your phone or the battery. Has it happened before under a different ROM? I've ran with cm7 for weeks and never had an issue. This is the first I've heard of this happening.
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
Just connect to your charger, wait 30 mins and try to power on again that happened (srry bad english)
If you still have your X, use that battery. It's my understanding the X and X2 have an almost identical battery.
I've had my battery die twice since being on cm7 both times when I plug in to wall charger it boots to BSR, I select reboot now it boots to cm7 and charges. I'd have to agree with others comments that you my have a faulty battery. Sorry I don't have better info...

Yes, my X battery and spare works fine in the X2. My X was replaced by Verizon with the X2, and I never recieved a battery with it.

If this hasn't happened to you yet., and it's going to happen to you later. You have been messing with your phone without looking at your battery levels and mid rom flash you are out of juice, your phone won't charge. The charger appears to be working but the phone just won't charge.
I used to have a droid x and you have to use a special tool by Motorola to change the os on it. It requires you to be plugged in but sometimes won't charge your phone. Mid update my phone ran out of juice, I had a spare battery but the phone wouldn't turn on or charge. After many desperate appempts I found a fairly easy solution.
The trick is you find any usb cable you don't want.. You strip the end with the adapted part of the usb.. You cut the green and yellow wires.. You put the black wire on the negative terminals and the red wire on the positive terminals
This should give your battery enough energy to start itself up if you hold the wire on the terminals for a minute.. Although I'm not sure if this damages the battery.. I would only use this in case of an emergency,

Or you could get a cheap $3 wall charger from amazon or ebay (the type that holds the battery not the cable).

Or use Amon Ra recovery... it will actually charge a fully dead battery.
Clockwork MOD has issues charging a completely dead battery.
This is for a situation where you need it charged at that moment.. Not wait 1 week for a charger.. Most people know about the chargers, but shipping is nothing near instant

yep, have 8 extended batteries right now. Don't think I'm running out of juice!
What if you could wire the batteries together is some way to make a 1 week shoe box sized battery. That would be worth buying... If you wanted to carry it around
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
They already make these "brick" charging devices. Not a shoe box, just a large battery that can charge your phone multiple times before it needs to be recharged. Pretty sure I have seen a 8000mah and higher.

I don't know why, but all of a sudden my MAXX has suddenly started getting TERRIBLE battery life. I can barely last a day anymore! By noon I'm down to 50% with little use! I have never been able to go more than a day with my MAXX, but it's gotten ridiculous lately. Here are some screen shots of my battery use screen.
Anyone know what could be causing this? By the way, I'm using Eclipse ROM.

The extra charge time could be because of a low amperage output on that travel charger. Do you know what the amperage is? If you want maximum charging speed, you would need a charged with 1 amp output.

Yeah, that's the reason, while you get 800 mA when charging from AC, you just get max 350-400 mA when you do from car/USB connection, so you'll need double time to make a full charge
I had my phone today and everything seemed to be running fine but I happened to let it die completely while in my pocket. I went to plug it in and no LED, no charging, no nothing. When I put it on my wireless charger, the charger's green light says it is charging but my phone doesn't seem to respond to anything. I tried holding down Power+volume up+volume down and still nothing. Before it happened i was running official CM10.2 and the crpalmer kernel and everything seemed great. What do ya'll think?

I just let it sit overnight on my desk and tried plugging it in again this morning. LED began flashing and once it turned solid I booted it up and everything seems normal. That was weird. I will try and prevent the battery from draining the entire way again.

Battery pull
When that happens, the battery usually has to be pulled for it to turn back on. The problem is, the DNA doesn't have a removable, or even easily accessible battery. This same problem happened to me a while back, and the remedy was to pry off the back cover, unscrew the metal plate holding the battery connector to the board, and unplug the connector for about 10 or 15 seconds before reconnecting it. After that, charging LED came on like normal and the phone booted up just fine. It's only happened twice in the last 3 months, and it works every time.
Lesson learned - don't let the battery die!
