i was running frankin twiz(9/20) and kk kernel. tried to revert back to stock phone.. did a backup with clockwork, deleted user data and cache and now my phone just force closes android and i can't get it to load anything or make it where my phone is usable..help.. cant get into adb mode, cant get drivers to install, what else can i do? if i put a update.zip on an external sd will it be able to install the rom once im in recovery mode? Thanks for any input
Can you get into Download Mode?
Were you running a lag-fix?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
i was running vodoo lag fix..no i cant get into download mode, only recovery mode
in recovery mode it says error, cannot find update.zip file.
Did you happen to dis-able the Voodoo lag-fix before flashing the stock ROM?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
no i did not, and now i do not know anything i can do..
That's a tough one, the maker of Bionix said you would greatly regret not disabling vodoo before flashing.. voodoo sounded like something I don't ever want to mess with for that reason alone, so I never will. sry I can't help, maybe download mode on odin and load fresh factory rom
im in download mode on the device and i have odin opened, how do i flash the stock rom now? also how do i get odin to find my device? thanks

To get odin to find your device in download mode you simply need the proper drivers installed. Be sure to plug in the device in download mode and let Windows detect the download interface properly before you run Odin. I'd also strongly advise you use Odin3 v1.3 (found in Dev section...also a link to this in the Vibrant Bible post) instead of Odin3 v1.0.
In the Bionix 1.3 thread, instructions for dealing with the "oops I forgot to deal with disabling Voodoo" screw up are in the first post, right after "Did You Flash Something Before Disabling Voodoo? Then This Fix is For You." It's a bit involved, but I've made this mistake myself last week (I misspelled the disable-lagfix of all things), and the method worked as advertised.
Best of luck!
learning how to use odin was a bit of a challenge, there's a really good youtube video.. this is the link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnY7P14JSWQ -copy and paste in browser this guides you on how to get back to stock on odin, which is a great place to start fresh.. make sure you have the samsung drivers installed on your computer, helps computer recognize our android
SUPER IMPORTANT!! open odin 1st as administrator, then whith phone (off) hold both up and down volume keys and plug in usb while holding them
thanks everyone for the tips, i got back to the stock rom now. and even got a lesson in using odin to flash in the future
i tried to install a different unlock screen and my phone had a ton of force close i was able to get into download mode and odin open, it reads the phone but it gets stuck at setup connection for ever any ideas on how to bypass that so i can revert to stock
hey guys, please i need alotta help.
i have the samsung vibrant obviously.
this is what my current situation is. im stuck at the phone to computer screen, and the only thing i can do is get into download mode. but when i try to load the stock vibrant rom using odin, it just stops at dont turn off target! the phone does indeed connect to odin so that's not the problem, but when i click start to flash the stock rom, it just stops at dont turn off target! i cant figure out why it wont flash the rom, and i have no idea what to do, please help! :[
this what i did that caused this. i had the oneclicklagfix installed from ryan. i then uninstalled the lagfix because i wanted to flash the bionex 1.3 rom. it seemed like it was flashing all fine, and then it booted up to the phone to comp screen! :[ like i said, i can only get into DL mode, and then odin doesnt do anything. i tried deleting all user data, and cache data. please help me, i dont know what to do! thanks alot!
Make sure you have the drivers for you phone and have the latest version of odin. I know it took me at least 3 to 4 tries with the old version of odin 1.0. The new version 1.3 went through on the first try.

I can attest to this. V1.0 kept having issues for me, so I downloaded V1.3 and had no issues. If you install Samsung Kies it should install all the drivers you need on your computer to communicate with your phone. If you still can't get it flashed back to stock try flashing this ROM first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740558 and than flashing the stock ROM.
Try using a different USB port. I had the same issue "stuck on do not turn off target" while odin was using com4. When odin switched from com4 to com5 it completed in about 5 minutes.
Hey I have a i9100 that I had running on cm9 nightly. I updated my phone to the latest one at the time which was jul 22 and was 101.56 megs I believe. I went into cwm to install the firmware, wiped user data then installed the update. Install went fine, no errors in cwm. Although when I did wipe data I did not wipe cache with it.( I just wiped data accidentally because it was a force of habit since I flash alot)
Now the phone is in a boot loop. It won't go into recovery mode but will do download mode. Although when it is in download mode windows is saying that the device is malfunctioning. The setup I'm using is the same I've used to flash the phone atleast 30 times via oden so it should be working in theory.
Any ideas guys, I'm at the end of my rope as far as what to do.
Read this and see if that can help you

That's the First thing I read when I searched for a solution. But that relies on the computer seeing the phone, which mine doesnt. It's looking like jtag may be the route I have to go. Any have any experience with those services

No CM9 nightly is 101.56MB. They are usually around 130MB. You probably flashed a CM7 nightly. AS long as download mode is working, you can flash resurrection and then the correct nightly.... or odin back to stock, root... then flash the nightly, but make sure you have the correct version as the CM7 and CM9 nightlies appear in the same list and it's easy to grab the wrong one if you aren't careful.

Do you have the drivers installed? If so, and it's still not working, you might try a different USB port and/or cable combo to see if one of them could be wonky.

could it be that flashing cm7 on cm9 damaged the usb functionality. but the phone is still recognizing the jig that i have. the phone will go into download mode via button combo or jig. since the jig still works doesnt that mean that the usb port on the phone is still functional
HELP! Bricked Galaxy S2- GT-i9100
I have a galaxy s2 gt-i9100 and i love this phone but it's been bricked and i want to know if theres anything i can do. I was running cm10 no problem for awhile now even though one of my flashes took away my computers ability to see my phone when plugged in and i've tried everything. I thought mobile odin was what i was looking for to flash the official JB that came out. so i flashed it and then that was all she wrote for my phone. won't turn on at all i just see a greyed out battery on my screen.
i can get into download mode using button combos no problem but odin doesn't recognize just like computer.
I can get into recovery mode but it's not the same as when cm10 was on i think it's stock recovery from when i tried to flash with mobile odin and the options it shows me do not help me at all.
my question is: can i save my phone? or do i have to buy a new one?
P.S. It must be the phone cause i'm using a new computer and it can't see the phone either, i downloaded kies and when i plug in the phone it still goes through the process of finding and trying to DL the drivers but then it fails. same as my computer.
please and thank you
paul

To power your device all the way off plug it in and hold power until the battery logo comes up.
Then unplug it and hold power, home, and volume down to boot into download mode.
Use odin (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...=ewT0JrvKAjyPbAfN2FyCTQ&bvm=bv.91071109,d.eXY) to flash the stock firmware form here:

My player has sometimes had this problem with Odin 3.07. It has always worked fine with Odin 1.85 however. I have attached the Odin zip just extract it and run. If it still doesn't work try installing Samsung Kies (or re-install) to get the USB driver. Should that fail install the samsung mobile USB Driver (also attached).
Kies Link (Use Kies 2.6): http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/

I'm in a similar situation (bricked after cm12, no recovery, have let the battery die, gathering info on what to do next).
Here's a total guess, maybe the repartitioning for the cm12 is messing up the stock rom (did you have "repartition" checked in odin?) have you tried flashing cm11 or 12 instead of stock?
Also if this doesn't work try flashing with the pit file which can be found lower down on the same post as the stock ROMs.

how do I flash CM11 or CM12? I can't put it in recovery...
I think we are in the same situation, i was thinking... can't we make a CM11 or CM12 flashable tar file? i don't know if it's possibile, i'm a newbie and know only a little of android and similar OS...
uff, if the galaxy payer could only boot in recovery we could be able to flash one rom to fix it!
sorry for my bad english

I couldn't get mine into recovery either. I couldn't even get proper download mode. But, I used odin3 v1.85 (I also tried kies, and re-installing that may have installed drivers that turned out to be necessary, windows spent a lot of time searching for drivers... I'm a linux guy, I don't really understand how/why windows needs to spend 10 minutes searching for the same drivers again and again - whatever), and tried flashing lots of things, assorted pit files, roms and recoveries...
Eventually I managed to install a stock rom that I got from the first post in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39188127
It installed correctly, but booted into an animation bootloop.
I cannot flash cwm on to it. When I boot into recovery I get the (stock?) android 3e recovery, and a screen full of red telling me that cache does not exist. None of the four options, reboot, install update zip from sd, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, do anything.
Stuck there now.

I'm going to try to flash that, thank you for your respond... Windows can be relly slow in seraching driver, linux is a lot faster XD, yesterday i tried to flash my galaxy player from JODIN3, which is basically ODIN for LInux, the problem is, after it ends, it says SUCCESS!! but the player won't boot... Maybe the battery is dead this happens everytime I flash the pit and stock rom, ODIN says success but then it shuts, giving no life signs
This is a really strange problem even I tryed to flash everything (from kernels, to recovery, to stock roms and the bootloader which posted AdamOutler) we need to ask to an experienced dev what maybe has happend, ecause i relly have no idea

I'll look into JODIN3, messing around with Windows is so painfull. I would skip flashing the pit, just odin the one thing. I've also found that if odin fails flashing something, everything else I try flashing afterwards will fail. The only success I've had has been with disconnecting everything, plugging the device back into the PC, the starting odin new.
I've gotten a working gingerbread ROM, from here:
http://meticulus-development.com/index.php/galaxy-player-5-0-2/galaxy-player-5-0-stock-roms/
(irritating finding the download link among all the malware bull**** and "windows support" popups, it required registering for 4shared, but a throwaway email works)
The recovery is still a native samsung android 3e, and it took me a while to figure out that the "select" key wasn't the power button, but the home softkey... That might have been true of the last one I had flashed, the one that bootlooped, maybe I could have wiped... anyway. I've got a working gingerbread GP5.0 I can give my daughter (if I can avoid the temptation of putting cwm and then cm11 on it).

Hmmm, I think the US/Intl might not be super important, since all you really want is to get a working recovery on there. I got one of those GB roms on, then was able to flash cwm. I don't think you need to be able to use the rom, but installing it make odin able to flash cwm. Once cwm was on I installed the cm11 xip and all is good.
Good luck with yours.

If the stock recovery is not working try flashing a CWM recovery for the GB ROMS.
For the Intl Player with the hardware button this one should work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414565
You need the Odin file to flash then recovery should work.
Do a cache wipe, factory data reset, and wipe the Dalvik cache.
