Hello,
I just got a BB White HTC Flyer and I love it. Everything so far seems to work fine but I have a small issue with Skype.
It works but when I am dialing, the ring tone is present only through the headphone output. Not a big deal since once the call is answered the phone switches to external speakers. The headphones are obviously not connected and BT is off.
Also, does anyone know how to get the incoming call ring a little louder. I can hear the vibrator motor more than the ring

I upgraded my XV-6800 to 6.1 using the Verizon ROM and am having a very annoying issue with Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 (it works somewhat).
The issue is this:
Push button on headset to activate MSVC
***Beep*** through headset
Me: Call Home
Msvc: Call Home? (through headset)
Me: Yes
DIAL TONES THROUGH THE PHONES SPEAKER
Bluetooth headphone switches back on once connected
The only way I have found that it works normally is when I have my Plantronics 8010 main headset piece set to "Wireless Stereo" and "Hands-Free" and I have the little icon of the stereo headsets showing on the top (where the start menu is). If that icon isn't there then the phone goes back to behaving the way it was above.
I've tried this with non-stereo headsets (mono only) and it plays the damn dial tones through the speaker on the phone. The other thing is that instead of the ringtone coming through the headset on an incoming call it goes through the phones speaker- when I hit the headset button it connects the call properly.
Can this be a conflict with that garbage software called Cyberon Voice Dialer? Anyone else have this issue and was there a fix?
Thanks!
I wasn't aware this was a bug. This is how it's always operated for me and I thought it was a purposeful function of the software. Besides, I think that dialing sound would get really annoying in my ear.
EDIT: The ringtones play through my headset, though. It's just the dialing sound that doesn't. What are your Phone settings in MSVC?
Ok- just uninstalled MSVC and re-installed (for the the third time) and now the incoming calls play the headset fine but the dial tones play out of the speaker on the handset.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug as it never used to do this on the XV-6700 running MSVC 1.5.
It's honestly been that way on every version I've personally used. It doesn't seem like a bug to me. It's specifically jumping out of the Bluetooth audio bridge to play it, then back in. That seems deliberate to me. Besides, it's an effect of the phone, itself, doing the dialing. Kind of a psychological thing. Besides, I wouldn't want that annoying sound buzzing in my ear.
Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to have a sound notification when a SMS arrives, also when I have my bluetooth earpiece active. I have the habbit of not holding my phone in my hand when talking, I most of the time use my BT earpiece.
Compared to my iMate Jasjar / aka HTC Universal, I had my phone lying on my desk, BT active, and earpiece on. So when I call came in, the phone ringed, and I picked up by pressing the button on my BT earpiece. When a message came in, the phone made a sound notification, both from the phone, and through my BT earpiece.
On my HD2 the phone rings as usual. But I don't hear a sound notification from the phone, I only hear it when I have my BT earpiece in my ear. But this way I need to have it in my ear all day (.
Is there a way to get sound notification even when BT earpiece is active and turned on?
Anyone able to solve the problem that seemly all Android phones have?
- If headphones are plugged in and we get an incoming call, the ringtone will play on both speaker and headphones.
- If headphones are plugged in and we get a notification, the sound will only play through speaker.
What I want is that nothing comes out of the speakers and only through the headphones.
So far, I am able to use Tasker to put the phone in Silent mode when headphones are plugged in and then toggle it off when headphones are not in. Problem with this is that the phone won't vibrate or ring at all when there's an incoming call and the same with texts/e-mails.
Mine only does through headphones. Newts latest release and SlimROM latest.

That's weird cause I get notifications/ringer switched when the headphone jack is in use and then the speaker is used when the jack is not being used... o.o
I think you can try DSP Manager. If I remember correctly it has an option to control those settings...
I'm using latest SlimROM...I've had this problem with every single Android I've owned.
I'm guessing no one else notices this or has this problem.
I found a Tasker script that might work:

i have been using XZU for over a month now but one thing bugs me a lot, whenever i call and talk via using out of box earphones, i can distincly hear the background sound myself and somehow instead of cancelling that background sound, its amplies it and send it to the other end, ive heard many of my callers tell me that they cant hear my voice as the background sound is a lot when im not in such a noisy atmosphere.
anybody else has faced this issue? any idea whats wrong and how i can solve it?
I am experiencing exactly the same issue. The headset picks up all the background noise when I am having a call, and it is annoying because I can't hear clearly what my caller is saying.... I'm sure it is a bug... Am on software update 532 and this is really bugging me

In settings/call settings there are some tick boxes you can try:
Hearing aids
microphone noise suppression
speaker voice enhancement
If they don't work then it must be a hardware issue. (ear piece with mic)
Personally I've never used the headphone set. I use the SBH-52 bluetooth unit

I confirm the same problem does not exist in Bluetooth headset but it only happens when you use a wired headset like the Sony MH750 supplied in the box. I have tried using other wired headsets and the same problem exist - your earphone just plays also the sounds that are received in the microphone so you are not only hearing the caller but you are also hearing your own voice as well as the noises of the surrounding environment.... really really annoying.
I've had the Note 3 for T-Mobile for several months now, I bought it close to when it was released. I've been loving it so far, but recently the speaker has been having an issue. Sound for alarms, ringtone, and notification either comes out of the ear speaker or don't happen. However, when I put the phone on speaker during a call, the speaker works just fine. What could cause my phone to stop outputting ringtone and notification to the bottom speaker?
It sucks, I've missed classes because of the alarm not going off.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a Bluetooth headset attached? I had that problem when it was set to call and media audio. Unchecking "Media audio" fixed it for me.
