Never mind
I was able to unlock using fastboot only. Something like fastboot oem unlock. Then copy your code down and redo the fastboot OEM unlock with your code.

Thanks, I just found the answer I was looking for while looking in the bowels of pudding's post. I'll continue with fastboot and see what happens.

Possible file corruption. Download again from another source, and if it keeps happening then extract the .img files and flash from fastboot in this order:
boot, system, userdata, recovery
and see if that fixes it.
Still didn't work is there another way

i just did this 5 minutes ago. i ran the ruu.exe while my phone was in hboot and it didnt even check my current version, worked perfectly, you need to "fastboot oem lock" first though. i was getting errors when i tried to run the ruu while in the android system.
now im trying to figure out how to re-unlock it
edit... wow, that was so easy, i just typed "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
unlocked again
i had the same problem but i got the ruu to run now im updated but now the unlocking is being a ***** (cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin') is what it keeps saying

Ok this might seem dumb but did you type it exactly as I have it in the post above yours, its case sensitive and it needs the _ between the unlock_code. And fastboot oem unlock isn't a valid fastboot command.
Also, which ruu did you use, I think this matters, I used the 2.17 from here http://www.filefactory.com/f/4ef0ef536face67a/
I think its the 7th one down.

Just relocked and upgraded to the RUU, do I need to so the whole process to unlock again?
On a MAC, ./adb devices works and returns the device but ./fastboot unlock oem returns waiting on phone.

Thank Charles, I tried ./fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin but got < waiting for device >
You sure you're in fastboot and not just hboot? It should say Fastboot USB in red on the screen.
Make sure you have any antivirus programs or anything like that turned off.

Tried it again, but got an error: error: cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin': No such file or directory
That mean I have to unlock it again?
Make sure Unlock_code.bin is in the correct folder with the fastboot executabke, that sounds like the problem the unlock code file isn't in the fastboot folder.

Did you save it in your email or leave it in the inbox when you unlocked the first time?

Your name is very fitting, found the old email with the file. Placed the file in the same folder as fastboot.
Now appear to be in a hboot loop and can't get to fastboot usb
Alright, so Yesterday I got my DNA, I've been trying all day yesterday to get the bootloader unlocked. I did the one click method and checked the CID and it is all ones. When I went to HTC dev I'm getting the error of 160. I've done research to see that this is because of the unsupported device and that the exploit failed, yet I'm getting all ones? SOme help and or guiding would be great
Oh and I have tried on my windows 7 desktop and windows 8 laptop.

I am getting the exact same error.
From bootloader, run fastboot cmd
fastboot oem writecid 22222222
Then go back to htcdev and start over. Make sure you use a new copy/paste from
fastboot oem get_identifier_token

When I tried to relock my phone it said it was already locked. Then when I went to unroot it It wouldn't reboot into the bootloader and everybody is saying that that means its still locked. My phone doesn't say unlocked or locked because when I first got my phone there was a tool that made it to where you could change what it said on boot. I can't find that tool anymore and I can't figure out what to do. Can anyone help me?
You should be able to Oem relock threw fastboot then run the RUU. That would put it back to factory state. When the RUU is finished the bootloader should say S-On no matter what mods was done while unlocked..
Maybe someone else could offer better advice.

Try to see if can go into bootloader onto fastboot and type "Fastboot OEM lock" and it should reboot after verified. Then try to fastboot the RUU if can't thur bootloader.

Thanks guys I got it! I didn't know I had to run the ruu through fastboot. Feel kinda dumb now lol. Sorry

so I relocked my bootloader with the "adb oem relock" command. is there an easy way to unlock it again now that it says "relocked"? some easy adb command that will unlock it again? or do I have to do the whole moonshine thing again?

If
Code:
fastboot oem unlock

Of you have a custom recovery, just use the lock/unlock bootloader zips Scotty shared with us. I discussed this before. It works like a charm.
