Hello.. I have been facing this problem that titanium backup is not working for when I switch from cm7 kang rom by grif to any other ROM...
I hav been using cm7 kang rom by grif... one random day i decided to try some new ROM so i first made a backup of rom... thn wiped cache n all the user data frm CWM.. thn i flashed gingerreal 1.4 frm the zip file usin CWM recovery.. the rom was workin fine... thn i installed titanium backup agn on my cel... bt when i tried restoring the data... it got hanged... there were also some issues with network,,,
mayb because i flash the ddkq5 base over kph...i dun hav much idea bout that...
so for now i m bak to cm7 rom thnks to the backup i had made...
Any idea why titanium backup is not workin ?
I'm not really sure why Titanium has problems. It usually works normally. I heard that some apps don't support certain roms. Like HeyWire (Free texting) doesn't support custom roms. Maybe that's the problem.
Notice what apps you were restoring while it hung up?

Simply do a backup in xRecovery of any system you want to restrore back leter. Apps will be backuped fine. Contacts and t.msgs will be lost if you won't sync them via google profile.

hey, before I update my xperia x10 to 2.3., I would like to know if I backup now on 2.1. with the free version of titanium backup (not buying the pro) my games + data will I be able to restore them later when I'm on 2.3.? Can I backup data with the free version at all?
OR, I can also do this with Backup and Restore program? I have B&R on my x10 (of course) and I backed everything up, then when I update to 2.3. and download that B&R for 2.3. will it restore the game data too? I don't wanna lose my progress, espcially angry birds :/
Thanks
i think u wont get B& R for 2.3 ..m not sure on this ..ya but u can backup your app using Titanium Backup !!and regarding data m not sure using Titanium Backup !!
Hope it works !!
Thank me if it clears u a bit !!
Edit:
It works bro it will backup eveyrthin ur app and the data ...,so u can go ahead with TB
Go ahead - that's how I keep my Angry Birds (all 3 versions) and a few other games going through all these ROM updates, custom ROM tests, etc...
I think I only had a problem once when I used Apps2SD or something like that. If you have never moved anything to your SD Card you are good.

there is a link on the xda forums for a 2.3. version of it, I am not aware of who developed it though, do you think it would be able to restore game saves? I'll try TB it when I root it

nope I've never used apps2sd, also I have never rooted my phone, will I be able to normally update even if it's rooted (to the stock 2.3., I'm on stock 2.1. now)? I never rooted my phone yet, can anything bad happen?

if u havent rooted then there might be a problem using TB coz TB will backup ur apps but not the data almost all the backup out there can backup only ur app ..(if phone not rooted) ..
hope u get it
thank me if it clears u !!

TB does not fully work
Hi,
My experience is that TB does not save all app data. I have a banking app with token configuration and TB can't save this token data. The only way is to use xRec backup and restore, but many times a custom, not stock-based ROM is not compatible to restoring an xRec backup.
So, when I change to a non-stock ROM I lose banking app's token data. Any help?
Hello. I have made a nandroid backup with AmonRa recovery, selecting everything.
So, If I restore that backup, my phone will return exactly like it was in that moment? same kernel, same rom, same all? what about apps in sd ext and their data?
If I want to upgrade my Rom (from miks 6.5.7 to 6.5.8) and I dont wanna lost my apps+data and settings data, can I use nandroid backup for restoring data? How could I use it?
Thanks you so much, I didnt find any answer
PS_Oh **** **** Sorry I thought I was on general forum. Sorry

Answering to ur question yeah nandroid backs up rom kernel + apps ..not sure about ext ! But the app will be backed up normally ..and if u want to upgrade to miks rom and need data n apps use titanium backup to batch backup all apps + data n restore it later whenever u need ..

If u r going from miks 6.5.7 to 6.5.8 u need not wipe anything..just flash the rom directly. All apps will be intact..

The problem is that Titanium backup wont work because I use app2sd and all apps in SD could come with problems.
so its not a sure way.
(Sorry for the wrong forum...please move it, sorry for inconvenience)
Wt? Even I use app2sd n titanium works perfectly!

Actually restoring apps works flawlesslybut the problem arises only with system data..
U can restore your data only on similar versions of the rom..say u cannot restore data from 2.3
3 LG based rom to cm7 ..however using batch backup apps on SD also get backed up and will be restored later when u restore as in normal internal memory later!

I also wanted to know that with nandroid backup is baseband also backed up??
like I have a nandroid backup with old baseband and currently m on new baseband....so by restoring nandroid will I get my new baseband or I have to flash new baseband again??

Actually, you can upgrade from miks 6.5.7 to 6.5.8 without wiping data.
If you are on CM 6.5.7, just flash CM 6.5.8 (don't wipe anything). And then flash dark tremor apps2sd again. All your apps will be back.

restoring it on other rom will bring back your previous rom with all the apps and settings.
Just one little note, it doesn't backup kernel.
So make sure you are on right kernel (GB or ICS) before you restore your backup.
i am facing a problem while using titanium backup...whenever i try to restore apps from my nandroid backups (extract from nandroid backup option)...the restoring apps dialog appears but it stays on 0% forever and ever....i dont know what to do...
