No
That's for tmob ics rom, I think most are waiting for a custom ics rom, with or without sense.

Hello all I have stuck pretty much with Kaos Froyo ROM but I was wondering if with the upgrades to the Incredible and other releases if someone has made a SENSE Froyo ROM for the Eris?
All Sense ROMs I find appear to be still based on 2.1.
Thanks
Been asked several times. A lot of us are still hoping for some hint of dev work going on.
Its highly unlikely because all the oem froyo sense devices have higher resolution screens. There are no froyo compatible medium resolution sense roms out there to port.
Once the HTC Legend gets the offical Froyo ( Sense ) it will be ported to our devices.
Kaos has on several occasions stated he is working on one, how its coming, well he'd have to tell you that

HTC's "target" delivery date for Android 2.2 with Sense UI for the Legend is "middle September."
This has been confirmed numerous times via e-mails people have written to HTC and received responses (as recent as last week). You can search various forums to confirm that.
So, we should see the Legend get an update very soon. It could be as soon as this week, but my pessimistic outlook when it comes to updates tells me it won't happen until October.
At least it's confirmed that the update is coming. All we can do now is wait and see.
There is at least one Incredible rom with Sense for Froyo. Could we use that?

Wrong resolution. It needs to be HVGA not WVGA.

Would it be hard to change?
Apparently. The HTC Legend is supposed to get a Sense Froyo update soon I believe and when that happens the devs can port it to the Eris.
is there a rom for the hero with the new version of htc sense (the one on the desire z)?
No... there isn't

haha im sorta still new to all this custom rom mucking round business, i have a vague idea but probz best if sumone just explaind to me fully =D

Android pushes out updates once in a while. (2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc). Whenever this is done, HTC has to build their own "layer" on top of stock android. This layer is called HTC Sense. (typical examples are the big "phone" button on your homescreen, the 1x1 power widgets, the "grid" you see when dragging an app icon over your homescreen, the lock-screen that has to be pulled down etc).
For the Hero they stopped making sense for 2.1+, so there will be no official HTC Roms for 2.2 and 2.3.
There are however custom ROMs, that implement 2.2 or 2.3 for Hero, and some even come with HTC Sense.
In this thread there is a list of custom Hero ROMs, sorted by Sense or no-Sense http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889299
As far as I can see, the only 2.1+ ROMs that have Sense are ChocolateFroyo, Sengle, Froyo Sense.
Have a good read at which one is stable or not, because I don't know which one is.
so, to answer your initial question about the new version of Sense: I don't think they will put out a version that has the newest version (although I don't know for sure) but at least there are some custom ROMs that give you a new Android version with Hero Sense.

Makes me kind of sad... although I am really looking forwards towards a "sense-less" ICS MOD.

I also have the Vibrant and you're right... Samsung does not like releasing updates. I think they have a 1 major update per device cap or something.

ya but they have the advantage of being more dev friendly!!! I'm very surprised given the history of HTC, they were basically making phones before any of these guys showed up. and yet there are always problems with their dev community...and make it much harder for the developers to work! I still don't think my brother has gingerbread!
makes me miss my sensation even more,,
I got the ICS update for my WiFi Motorola Xoom middle of last week. The OTA came out about 2 weeks after posts about its testing by a smaller group started popping-up on XDA.
However there are a few big differences here:
1) The Xoom was already on Honeycomb which is a lot closer to ICS than Gingerbread. Hopefully the Galaxy Nexus has developers already working on ICS compatibility. When I first got my Honeycomb tablet a year ago lots of applications had major problems on the new OS.
2) The Xoom is a Google Experience device so no manufacturer overlay to add complexity to the testing.
3) The WiFi Xooms are not tied to a wireless carrier.
My guess is these things are going to increase the test time. Hopefully not by too much. My first guess is a month - really depends on the quality of the early releases.
I thought I read somewhere that the update will be coming in February. But once it's out, and HTC is nice enough to release the stock rom, then we will start seeing stock ics roms with everything working.
HTC will always put Sense on all their roms.
Pretty sure ICS for the Amaze will have Sense, which isn't that bad. I think there are some decent widgets for Sense 3.6.
I hope with sense they won't force us to have that google search bar at the top of our screens
Greets all!
Simple question. I love Google Search/Now (which I believe requires JB) and I love the Sense UI. Is there any way to get both on one rom?
Thanks in advance!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2065224 try that if your on a cdma evo3d. Its a WIP so dont expect it to be fully functional. Also if your partial to 4g or 3d cam/movies taking then dont bother. Anything other then sense 3.6 and its broken or any JB rom for that matter

Have you tried that? AFAIK there is nothing bootable posted in that thread yet.
Although technically Google Now requires JB, there are a number of Sense 3.6 ROM's available in the development forum that include a port of it that works with ICS. Check the OP's for the Sense 3.6 ROM's and I'm sure you will find several that do.

Indeed there isnt anything bootable hence the "Its a WIP so dont expect it to be fully functional" line Just thought id point him to something atleast, I dont know of any other JB + sense roms for the evo3d tho. :fingers-crossed:

Yea, that's the ICS port I was referencing.
There are a lot of downloads there but the one that's worked best for me with ICS Sense ROM's is mikeyxda's M7 online/offline version.
Of course, that's if you want to use it with an ICS Sense ROM that doesn't include it already.

Yes, I would definitely consider booting successfully part of being fully functional.

THANKS ALL!! I didn't realize you can fo-naggle a form of Google Now onto ICS. Good to know! Also, I will check out the ROMs discussed, thanks for sharing!

Salam Mahdi,
That is the old update to ICS that we already have. There is no need to update as everyone is on the latest firmware anyway. HTC is never going to update the Amaze. It's long dead. RIP. You know it's dead when it's completely removed from HTC's main website. :crying:
Also, HTC only has 100 people creating updates to HTC Sense. No wonder it takes forever. A lot of staff also QUIT HTC, it's a doomed company.
Also, the general rule of software updates is to NEVER UPDATE WHEN ROOTED!!!! You might brick your device or break something. Whenever something gets updated developers pick apart the update and just make it flashable for us. If you wanted to update something you would have to unroot, re-lock and then flash a RUU to get back to complete stock. Then you'd have to update manually. But there is no need as this phone is at the latest firmware.

No problem.
It's actually "you're" and not "u're" lol.
Using the word "you" instead of "u" sounds more professional.
I think the Amaze is on it's deathbed now. It never was a famous device to begin with, nor did it last. It still lived up to it's name, it was on par with the One S (except the One S had a more up-to-date chip at the time). It was HTC's putrid attempt to fix the Sensation's RAM issues by releasing a new device, but they killed both the Sensation and the Amaze in a few short months! This is why HTC is stupid in my opinion and suffers financially. If HTC cared about their users they would at least give us and Sensation owners stock 4.1.2 Jellybean like Samsung did in the Galaxy S III I think you should upgrade to a better phone when you have money. :good:
I'm going to develop for the Amaze again when the ION kernel comes out (maybe it won't even come out cause everyone is too busy  ).
But time will tell what will happen. There have been all sorts of crazy things in our forum.

Yes it's on 3.2 now. It's as stable as a BOULDER! There is not much left to do to that ROM. I might bake something later when I get time. It's a nice stable stock-look ROM to always fall back on.

Thanks SuperAfnan.
I appreciate Your work for the Amaze. I thinks it has a powerful hardware and it should be updated by htc. but htc left alone us and now we just have you developers you're (:laugh our only hope, because we cannot afford for new phone
Edit: is there any links to vote for updating amaze?

The problem is that HTC doesn't care, and Qualcomm doesn't support the chipset any longer!
Luckily, an ION kernel from a dev like Sportsstar (there's others working on it too!) would let us port Sense 5 or Sense 4! And JB Sense 4.5. That would be the rebirth of the Amaze. Until then, we're in a sinking hole.
thank you guys, you'll find a way, i know it
