[Q] Google store issue

Hello everyone, I am new to xda-developers. I hope this is the right area to post this in. I have a rooted Kindle Fire (First gen) and it is running Android Jellybean with Alien Droid. I can't seem to access the Google Play store. I have tried:
1.) Force stopping, clearing cache, and clearing data of both Google Services Framework and the Google Play store.
2.) Logging out of my Google account.
3.) Clearing device cache.
4.) Changing date and time settings.
5.) FULL FACTORY RESET!
6.) Downloading a Google Play apk of the internet.
Now when I try to log into Google, it says: "Can't establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your Android device may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care."
Any ideas?
Call Customer Care. xD

Thanks for replying, but I doubt Amazon will deal with a rooted kindle.

I'm a noon. What's that?
I just saw in another thread like this that a possible solution could be to delete your hosts file located at /etc/hosts, use something like Root Explorer mount etc as r/w then delete.
I would of course recommend you back it up first.

No data or wifi connection

I'll try to keep this brief.
My wife and I both have stock standard HTC Aria's running Android 2.2. A few days ago my wife complained that her battery was discharging really fast. Then a day later mine started doing the same thing.Going flat in a few hours of standby. Normally at the end of the day they would both still have 8 out or ten bars still lit. I turned off wifi, mobile and bluetooth on both phones and that seemed to fix the battery problem.
Now when I turn on wifi or 3g I cant connect at all. My wifi router shows up in settings but it constantly is scanning-connecting-disconnecting. Also cant connect to 3g.
I have tried another sim card but the problem is the same.
As I said, these phone aren't rooted in any way. Have very few apps. Basically used as a phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe you can try a new battery. Or, if you still have warranty, give it back to service.

You can try a factory reset as a last resort

Thanks dansou but the problem is not the battery. I believe the power was draining because an app was trying , constantly, to access the wifi which will not connect.

Just did a factory reset and everything seems ok.
Just one other problem: When I log in to google play it is showing that I have 2 apps installed (airdroid and astro) These are no longer on my phone but google doesn't want to believe that. I've tried to trash them and tried installing them but nothing happens. It just says "These apps will be un/installed shortly"
Any thoughts?
Thanks

You may have already tried this, but maybe a reboot would do the trick. If rebooting doesn't help, you can use a file manager to take a look into Data>Apps or System>Apps and see if you can find their .apk files there and delete them. If you aren't rooted, you won't be able to delete them, and I'm not sure what you should do if that happens. If they aren't there, then it's probably just a graphical glitch and is showing what really isn't there.
EDIT: Sorry, I read your post wrong. Go into the app details of Google Play Store and select both clear data and clear cache, and that should solve the problem. If not, try rebooting.

Oh my bad, I wasn't really clear about that. It's actually in your phone settings, not the settings in the Play Store.
So you open up Play Store in 'Manage Applications' as if you were trying to uninstall it. In that menu, you'll see options like Force Stop/Disable. Scroll down, and you'll see the 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache' options, and there ya go. I hope I explained it well.

If it's showing that only on the website, you shouldn't have to worry about it... It does that
It's probably showing them for the "old" one, before you did a factory reset

Oh I see now. I'm sorry, I thought you were saying that the phone was showing it.
Like WinSuk said, I don't see the problem if it's only showing it on the website. It could be showing what's installed on your wife's Aria if you two are sharing an account.

Sorry, I'm getting a bit confused here.
The apps that I mentioned; Airdroid, Astro, google play etc are showing as being installed on the google play web site. These apps are no longer on my phone after I did the factory reset. Therefore I have no way to reinstall the apps as google play is telling me they are already installed.
Is there another way to do this? Can I dl the apk files from somewhere else and install them manually?
Thanks again for all your help

You don't have the Play Store installed on your phone? If that's the case, you need to search up on google to find the apk file for it. Once you do that, you should be able to install the other apps you've mentioned.
Sorry if I misunderstood you again. I'm getting pretty confused here also.

Update:
I managed to install airdroid and Astro through Android Market app (was that the precursor to play store?)
Now when I log in to google play it shows those two apps as installed. Everything else is showing in "other apps in my library" waiting to be installed. I think I'll leave it at that. My airdroid is working again :good:
Thanks for every ones help.

It'll eventually update automatically on your phone and change back to the Play Store

Google Assistant Settings - Issue

Hey, is anyone else having problems getting into the assistant settings menu, i'm talking about this menu.
(open assistant > settings and then settings again)

Tried clearing cache and data of both Google and play apps, I also tried the beta channel download same thing, I tap settings it almost like the page pops ups and vanishes within a second, both settings and explore are doing this.

@B1naryBlaz3 I fixed it with my P20 by disabling and uninstalling Google Play Services via "System Settings -Apps -> Google Play Services -> Deactivate" and then afterwards installing the Google Play Services update again when prompted. This actually fixed a lot of issues I had

Works until I restart the phone again, I also factory reset 4 times yesterday to try and isolate the issue, its definitely something thats part of the default install, everything is fine until it updates the stock stuff and then you restart.

Question Help with Google news feed

Hey everyone. I wasn't able to find a fix online so I figured I'd ask the experts on XDA.
Issue: 1- When I click on an article on my Google feed nothing happens.
2- When I use Google search and click one of the results nothing happens.
Chrome works, Samsung Internet works, and Edge works.
What I've tried: Deleting the storage on the Google app. No dice.
I don't have the same issue on my old S22 Ultra or my Tab S7 Plus.
Has anyone seen this before?
Any help would be appreciated.
Shot in the dark, but do you maybe not have a default internet browser selected? Or did it default to something else somehow that can't open a link? Can you open links from other apps? You could install duckduckgo and see if it'll open in that one maybe.
I would just uninstall Chrome and Google News and just start over.

What if you try to access it from Chrome homescreen ? Under the search bar, there's a "Discover" section which practically is a Google Feed. Does it work ?
