[Q] Adhesive along frame? - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Hi there,
I got my Nook tablet today, and almost immediately noticed a fair amount of adhesive at the left bottom corner of the frame, and a bit further up the left side. I read that the inside of the device contains large amounts of adhesive, but is it normal for it to actually show outside the frame? I took a picture of it:

I'd try to clean it out of there, but it is rather rough stuff and I don't want to work it around too hard.
Thanks, Nir

Wow, that is completely unacceptable. You should exchange it immediately if it came that way.

Absolutely agree with Phonoob. Go get that thing exchanged asap!

Yea ide return it.

My thought too. Back it goes I guess, thanks for chiming in!

I'd say return it as well, but if you wanted to just clean it use Goo Gone or even lighter fluid.

And catch fire! Read the fine print. No harsh chemical should be used to clean product. Just return/exchange for new unit.

Dead Pixel
Take it back. Mine had a dead pixel or screen imperfection right in the middle and I took it back. Exchange was easy.

Dark patch on screen after drop (pic inside) - advice needed

Hi all
So....... I dropped my phone and now the screen has an ugly dark patch appear in the corner.
See picture.
The patch has grown over the last couple of days so I am wondering if it is moisture since my gf threw a damp towel on it afterwards just to make things worse!
Anyone seen this before?
Just got back from hols today so was planning on taking it apart but wanted some advice first.
Might be a job for travel insurance, but I'd prefer to keep this one if it is repairable.
Thanks!

Anyone?

Doesn't look like moisture to me, think the drop might have damaged some internal workings. I would just get it fixed under warrenty or in your travel insurance.
Ok thanks for the response. I'll see I can find locally.

Same problem
Hi,
i have the same problem. Dark patch appeared after (a short) drop and got much bigger after a few days.
@N-C have you figured anything out? I would appreciate any hint/advice.
I eventually managed to get it fixed under the warranty. They replaced the screen.

Internal screen crack

Hi all,

This is the corner where the light bleed issue is.
What are the chances that a stress point from bad manufacturing can cause this?
I've sent the unit back to ASUS servicing centre and their engineers are checking whether its user fault or manufacturing. (i'm pretty damn sure my bed didnt do this while i'm showering).
I've seen LCD damage that was a result of impact and it had crack lines from the impact point. Any suggestions/opinions on how this came about?
man that **** looks weird... no damage on the outside at all?
and you sure no one dropped it while you were in the shower?
Aww That is a cracked lcd panel. In my experience warranty never covers this, sadly... Guess you have to try to argue with Asus, if you`re 100% sure it wasn`t dropped etc.

This.
Sucks. Have a dog? Cat? GF? LCDs don't crack under normal usage. Was it exposed to the humidity from the shower?
doublepost
i was the only one at home at that time .. sigh.

Keyboard Dock Protective Tape Coming Off

Has anyone else experienced this - the protective, soft tape that lines the inside of the piece where the tablet connects to the keyboard is coming off. My guess is that the minimal additional width added by my screen protector must be pushing it and making it come off. Has anyone else had this happen? I haven't had the keyboard dock for more than a couple of months, so I'm a little ticked off that this is happening. Any ideas how I might be able to replace this myself, or if something like this could be covered under warranty? (I'll try to get some pictures to better illustrate what's happening)
Thanks!

Edit: Photos - as you can see from the pics, it's only the front side that comes in contact with the bottom of the screen; the back is untouched.

mines was doing the same thing, i got pissed off and pulled it off, LMAO u dont need it if u already got a screen protector on ur device as the protector will help protect the screen from scratch damage, thats what they were made for, mines just leave little sticky resude like at the center cause there is some sticky stuff still left there, i just wipe it off and its good to go

Thanks - I was thinking that same thing. I still might try to get a replacement through Staples as a manufacturing defect (??). If they say no, I'll just pull it off.

[Q] a sigh of disbelief

i just got this phone used in immaculate condition just a few days ago.
i was browsing through its internet and i was mesmerized by how beautiful the screen was.
i didn't realize that time has passed by so fast that i am already late at school.
realizing i have to get in class on time. i am in a hurry--put the phone in my pocket and hop in my car.
i heard a crashing--shattering noise.
i realize something has gone missing, and something went horribly wrong.
i looked at the floor with a horror on my face. as the reality kicks in--with a sigh of disbelief, the phone meets the floor... :crying:

Whoops, that sucks. Try this thread.

Ouch. This is why spending the extra $4 on a case from ebay is recommended. After dropping so many phones, I don't take the chance anymore. Also if you decide to sell it, it will look as good as the day you bought it. It sends chills down my spine thinking of putting a naked phone in my pocket.
Yeah, I always have a case on. I used to use tpu cases, I've come to like my otterbox commuter case. Sorry to the OP for sure though.
Case is good idea, along with insurance from carrier ..

I have never used a case in my life. I have a little dent on the bottom rear cover. I have dropped it dozens of times, it just never fell face down onto a point. I must have a horseshoe up my a** I dunno, lol. The build quality seems the same as the original EVO, atleast from my mishaps.

Verizon Shell Holster Case

Their case, at least on my phone, squeezes the screen and creates a small blueish blemish. This blemish is hard to see and it's best to look for it on a white background. Pressing on that spot makes the blob larger. This goes away when you remove the case.
Just wanted to let you guys know about that so you can try out the case before leaving the store. I'm currently sitting on it hoping to stretch it out a bit. Is anyone else having this same issue?
No issues for me. Where on the screen is it showing up on yours?

Think I have same problem
Mine is about 2 inches above the home key and is about the size of an eraser head.
Were you able to get rid of it?
No blemish on mine.

No. I went back to the store and tried a different case but it still did the same thing. Ended up just returning it. Perhaps it's phones rather than the case?

Might be something about the phone that the case affects. I was able to get the blemish to fade by carefully squeezing the opposite corners of the phone towards each other. Basically, I "massaged" blemish out. Haven't seen it since...
