[Q] Restore the original ROM for my Atrix. - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Howdy,
I'm Canadian. I use a Bell Canada as my service provider. I have a Motorola Atrix 4G phone. I would like to restore the ROM back to the original BELL ROM that shipped with the phone. The reason for this is I can no longer receive updates from Bell to my phone. Each time the download/install will fail and then re-download itself. Destroys my data plan to say the least.
I original rooted and uninstalled some of the bloat app's that came with the phone (UNO, some racing game demo etc) without really knowing the difference between freezing and uninstalling. Admittedly this is my first Smart Phone. And I believe this is the cause of my problems.
So, if someone could tell me in layman's terms how to go about doing this that would be great. I've read and looked through a bunch of the other threads. But most of them have really bad documentation to go with what they give here. (e.g. Here's the boot loader go nuts)
I would much appreciate if someone could link or give me a step by step to do this or a point me in the right direction that would be great. I would also be willing to pay if you manage to get it going(PayPal).
I'd send it back to Bell but since this were played with I'm pretty sure the warranty is voided.
I understand that I need to root > unlock > unlock boot loader > flash ROM > reboot. But not sure how to go about that really.
Thanks in advance,
redudn

So your bootloader is locked or unlocked?
If its locked just download the Motorola update tool and update your phone that way.
(That's how I updated to GB from froyo)
The ota kept giving me that android with the exclamation mark. I was rooted with gingerbreak good luck.

[Q] Rooting

SO having just gotten my thunderbolt this weekend I had a question about it.. is it worth it to root it being so new out or not? and if so, what's the best way for the thunderbolt,.. universal androot? like a higher end version or somthing else?
Yes it is totally worth rooting. For rooting it go to the dev section as it requires a pretty extensive root process. Compared to most phones that is.

ahh so the generic Universal Androot isn't enough eh?

First realize that rooting has its pitfalls. If you are cool with that search the forums, jcase has some very good step by step root processes posted. Root will open your phone so you can set it up the way you want to by allowing crapware removal and applying themes, etc.

Do it before you get a bunch of data on your phone that you're afraid to give up. Rooting requires you to downgrade which wipes all your data. So, you're going to lose everything (those precious Angry Birds saves) when you go to root since you can't do a proper (Titanium) backup yet.
Definitly root right away! i waited a while and it was kind of a pain to get all my data back. the easiest way the i found was the three click method listed here---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1005292. follow the directions to the letter and it works fine dont do the ota update, it can make rooting annoying and there are better roms out there that incorporate it anyways

and this is with the preinstalled Epic 2.2 do you guys think Sprint done something to these phones that prevent us from using Odin to it completely. I dont want to send this new phone back even though now it's completely messed up and it can only go into download mode. Anybody got any suggestions on trying to beat this so i can send my old phone back to sprint and keep this 2.2 because I was trying to use Odin to put in 2.3 gingerbread. Thanks to all who help. I been operating on this for the last 4 hours and still amaze that I cant get pass this on this preinstalled epic 2.2. any help would be appreciated however if I cant get this preinstalled 2.2 back up & running ill stick with my old epic & mail this new one back to sprint. besides its covered under warranty & TEP

[Q] Motorola Contact Quick Tasks stopped working

Hello,
I have a Motorola Backflip that is running standard Android 2.1update1. My carrier is AT&T. I have not done any mods to it or anything outside the normal user stuff - no rooting, no additional OS tweaks.
I have had the "Contact Quick Tasks" working just fine for the past year or so. Over the weekend I went to use my phone and the Contact Quick Tasks were there with no problem. Less than an hour later, I went to use it again, and my Contact Quick Task widgets all cleared their information and looked like this:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Obviously they stopped functioning at all. I didn't do anything to the phone in that hour. I've searched several forums, including the Motorola forums, and found no answers but several other people with the same problem. There were a few suggestions of removing Task-Killer apps, but I don't have any Task-killers on my phone.
Phone Model: mb300
Carrier: AT&T
Location: United States
Operating System: Android 2.1 update 1
Motoblur version: Blur_Version.3.0.1390.MB300.ATT.en.US
I'm willing to do a factory-reset on the phone if that will fix it, but I am reluctant to go through the hassle of doing so then reloading all my information / apps on it if that's not going to fix it.
I've obviously had several people suggest rooting the phone but I cannot afford to risk it bricking, which I've read the Backflips are incredibly prone to doing. I can't afford to replace it and I can't afford to be without a phone. Any suggestions for fixing it or how to get it to work again would be very appreciated.

[Q] Re-Locking Bootloader & Unrooting Question

Hi I got the Rezound for Christmas and immediately wanted to unlock and root it, until I found out my parents got some like extended warranty on it... I really want to unlock and root but since it will void the warranty, I want to make sure I can return to FULL stock if anything happens to go wrong with the phone. If anyone can give me a step by step guide on how to get back to full stock, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay thanks! Sorry, I'm new to this rooting business with these new phones. I came from an old 1st gen android.
Actually, you can't revert it to 100% stone stock because as soon as you unlock it, it technically voids the warranty.
Sure, you can lock it again but it will always say "relocked" or something like that so if you got a smart tech they can absolutely deny warranty if they want to.
FWIW - I have spoken to a Verizon tech supervisor on the phone and he informed me that simply unlocking the phone in no way voids to warranty as this is something HTC has allowed, he also said he doubts you will find an employee anywhere that even knows how to check it. He did say that if you have any ROM on your phone other than the OEM or it is rooted your warranty would be VOID.
SO if you go to return it just go back to stock and relock and DO NOT mention that you have done so.

[Q]Phones is not working but turns on without reason ???

Hi Guys and thanks for you attention.
I will try to make this as simple as possible. The phone of my friend was soft bricked
he was on 2.3 and tried to install a firmware that was not for that phone and he did not manage to install it
when he tried latter the motorola thinghy told him to Update the firmware and transform his 2.3 to a 4.04
HOWEVER his phone was not booting normally he would need to enter to bootloader and select NORMAL POWER UP
tried to find out the origin of the phone and was difficult to understand his firmware is somenthing like
672.180.41.xt910.02.en.DE
so i followed the guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1883640
and everything when fine until i tried to install the EU OTA
obviously this is not a EU phone....
is it german for the DE at the end?
some guy in another forum is mentioning that maybe this is the razr developer edition (????)
at any rate what i need to do is to install the original OTA but i have no idea which oe can be ..
funny enough if the phone is powered off would automaticly turn on and boot and stay in motorola logo.
any help would be very much appreciated
here you can guys look at some photos that can help
