[Q] Re-Locking Bootloader & Unrooting Question - HTC Rezound

Hi I got the Rezound for Christmas and immediately wanted to unlock and root it, until I found out my parents got some like extended warranty on it... I really want to unlock and root but since it will void the warranty, I want to make sure I can return to FULL stock if anything happens to go wrong with the phone. If anyone can give me a step by step guide on how to get back to full stock, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay thanks! Sorry, I'm new to this rooting business with these new phones. I came from an old 1st gen android.

Actually, you can't revert it to 100% stone stock because as soon as you unlock it, it technically voids the warranty.
Sure, you can lock it again but it will always say "relocked" or something like that so if you got a smart tech they can absolutely deny warranty if they want to.

FWIW - I have spoken to a Verizon tech supervisor on the phone and he informed me that simply unlocking the phone in no way voids to warranty as this is something HTC has allowed, he also said he doubts you will find an employee anywhere that even knows how to check it. He did say that if you have any ROM on your phone other than the OEM or it is rooted your warranty would be VOID.
SO if you go to return it just go back to stock and relock and DO NOT mention that you have done so.

[Q] Possible to unlock xperia Neo with code?

I recently got a Xperia Neo. It is new and less than a month old. I have seen several websites offering unlock codes but need to know if they work or not.
I may have been a little bit foolish buying it on the "Orange UK" network, but I did see these codes being offered, so I thought I would try it
Can I unlock my Neo with a code and would anyone here be able to help me?
I am asking this because I saw on omnius that the Neo has option for testpoint unlocking and I don't want to have to tear apart my new phone to unlock.

I didn't know where to post this as there doesn't appear to be a Neo Q&A forum
-()-
you can easily unlock with code.
Thank you for the fast reply. I just wanted to check first.
Is there anyone here who can provide a code? I can pay with paypal
Thank you

No.
You cannot relock BT after that.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium
Yes. As I mentioned I have heard of omnius and testpoint unlocking, however I heard an experience from someone who got their phone unlocked by a shop from this method and even they managed to screw up the phone.
Anyway I am currently waiting for a code from Sony Ericsson, because I took it to local shop and they told me to wait also because it is such a new mobile.
Sony Ericsson codes service is down, no one can give you the unlock code for these phones, except the provider themselves.
Secondly test point will void your warranty.
Use CSCA dongle unlock and everything should be fine.

omg ....... thanks for your info
I think you try to install HSPL but you have SPL >4 or even 5. Now bootloader is brick. No solution to this moment, sorry
I'm so sorry about your phone. I have no idea what should you do.
Have you tried to flash your phone with a branded ROM? Find it out here, read carefully before you proceed: 18 Branded HTC Mozart Roms.
Would you mind telling us your story, how could it be like that (what happened with your phone)? It is not a problem if you want to keep this secret. I'm just trying to help people so they won't post this thread again.
May all the best be with your hTC phone.
as I wrote above, for 98% he had Mango update and try install HSPL on it. all people which do that have now bootloader bricked and no solution.
seriously? Oh, lucky I used RSPL for the Interop [and] or [or] Chevron unlocked Mango.. hehe

[Q] Restore the original ROM for my Atrix.

Howdy,
I'm Canadian. I use a Bell Canada as my service provider. I have a Motorola Atrix 4G phone. I would like to restore the ROM back to the original BELL ROM that shipped with the phone. The reason for this is I can no longer receive updates from Bell to my phone. Each time the download/install will fail and then re-download itself. Destroys my data plan to say the least.
I original rooted and uninstalled some of the bloat app's that came with the phone (UNO, some racing game demo etc) without really knowing the difference between freezing and uninstalling. Admittedly this is my first Smart Phone. And I believe this is the cause of my problems.
So, if someone could tell me in layman's terms how to go about doing this that would be great. I've read and looked through a bunch of the other threads. But most of them have really bad documentation to go with what they give here. (e.g. Here's the boot loader go nuts)
I would much appreciate if someone could link or give me a step by step to do this or a point me in the right direction that would be great. I would also be willing to pay if you manage to get it going(PayPal).
I'd send it back to Bell but since this were played with I'm pretty sure the warranty is voided.
I understand that I need to root > unlock > unlock boot loader > flash ROM > reboot. But not sure how to go about that really.
Thanks in advance,
redudn
So your bootloader is locked or unlocked?
If its locked just download the Motorola update tool and update your phone that way.
(That's how I updated to GB from froyo)
The ota kept giving me that android with the exclamation mark. I was rooted with gingerbreak good luck.

Lumia 710 - Screen Banding?

Picked up a 710 last week. For a "low-end" phone, I think it's pretty nice! But, one thing that's bothering me is this pretty noticeable banding at the top edge of the screen. You can really see it on a white screen.
Is this just how they come or is it something that they can fix? Isn't all that bothersome but kind of annoying knowing that its there lol
Here's a couple pics:

I went to my carrier today just to see what another 710 looked like and the banding was still there but it didn't seem as bad, so I don't know
ask for replacement , least you should get is one where its less noticable
If I send it in, should I lock the bootloader after restoring the carrier ROM to it? And if so, how lol
Can't seem to find that...

Oh no I understand that. My bootloader was locked initially though and I unlocked it to throw a new ROM on. You think they'd reject my phone if I send it in unlocked still with the carrier ROM restored or is there a way to lock it again (upgrade to DLOAD or whatever I guess)?

Easiest, fastest, simplest.

Im going to purchase a phone to root, which one is the most easiest most simple to root fot a non technically inclined person, also looking for cheapest price.

To root a phone it requires that you're allowed to unlock phone's bootloader. Not every phone will allow you this: whether you’re allowed to unlock your phone's bootloader depends on the manufacturer of your phone, the model you have, and even your carrier. A phone's bootloader ( always ) can get unlocked if in device's Android Settings->Developer options the options OEM Unlocking & USB debugging are present:

Knowing this, you can purchase the cheapest phone whatever brand/model you chose. Simply contact the seller.
