Do you mean that when you turn the phone on you get the 'enter pin' message before you can use the phone. After you enter your pin do you find that you have no network service so you can't make phone calls or send texts? If so you also probably have an icon in the top right of the statusbar that looks like a sim card with an exclamation mark (!) in it. I too have this problem. My only solution is to remove the sim protection so now I don't get the 'enter pin' message when I turn the phone on. Obviously this is not good if I lose my phone.
Thank You, but today I gave the phone to warranty.. :-/ If they don't solve the problem, I will try Your method. Thank You so much! If I get back my phone, I will write in this topic everything about it.
[SOLVED] SIM card lock - no service (SIM icon with exclamation mark)
I have found the cause of my "No service" problem. It shows a SIM icon with an exclamation mark in it on the status bar.
I used to have a PIN code set under Settings-->Location & security-->Set up SIM card lock-->Lock SIM card. However, when I got this "No service" problem I had to remove the SIM card lock to actually be able to use my phone to make phone calls.
The problem was that I also had set Settings-->CyanogenMod settings-->Tablet tweaks-->Disable lockscreen-->TICKED. I had set this because I wanted my phone's screen to turn back on quickly by simply pressing the back button instead of using the lockscreen slider.
It seems that disabling the lockscreen prevents the "Enter PIN code" screen from being displayed and so I could not enter my PIN.
As well as having to do Settings-->CyanogenMod settings-->Tablet tweaks-->Disable lockscreen-->UNTICKED it is also necessary to turn the screen off then back on (e.g. press the power button to turn off then the back button to turn on). When the screen turns on the "Enter PIN code" screen will appear.
I think should be classed as a bug but I am not sure on what?

Hi,
Suddenly my HD2 doesn't display anymore the sim code input screen which is normaly displayed after booting the device, and goes straight to the homescreen.
I have to press the call button to be able to input my sim code.
I searched everywhere but i can't find a solution.
Any help?
I was checking out the band settings and stuff in service mode (*#*#0011#*#*) and some how
Hit the wrong button and now I have no outgoing SMS..Incoming SMS and data work fine on both my gs2 and my infuse but I cannot send a text with either phone using my same sim card..I get a red exclamation point when I try to send a text ..and I've tried all the sim settings in service mode and I can't get text back..I'm on cm7..any help appreciated
I've had my S3 for about a month and 4 times now I've discovered my phone isn't connected to my mobile service provider (Telus in Canada). Notifications will say "No Service" and it means no phone calls, messages or data at random times and it stays that way until I notice it and reboot. There is no logical reason why this should ever happen, I never leave the service area and all the settings for Mobile Network remain set to Telus. When this happens there's no way to fix the connection through settings, have to restart the phone.
I have a second issue that is also very frustrating - whenever I call my voice mail I have to input my passcode. So I place the phone down in my lap, enable the keypad and attempt to enter it. As soon as I touch the keypad the screen often just blanks out and no touch is registered. It's as if a proximity sensor thinks the phone is still by my ear and disables the screen. So this makes it extremely difficult to enter anything via keypad.
Any ideas on what could be causing this no service issue - a faulty phone or could it be related to a bad SIM card?
Try switching your modem.
wrong forum? or do u really own I9300?

I'm having a weird problem with my OneX+ where I can make and receive calls, send and receive texts, view SIM messages but when I go to the APN menu to add a new one a toast message pops up saying there's no SIM detected. Due to this, I can't turn on my mobile data
I've tried the tape behind the SIM fix and that didn't work (The SIM is being detected anyway).
Thoughts? Software or hardware related? Anything else I can try? I'm on the stock ROM, unrooted.
i'm looking at my call history and it shows that i've called people, when i didn't try to call.
anyone have this issue? is the phone showing or calling people without you doing anything?
Do you have "Tap to wake up" option enabled? I've had similar experience with one trousers' pocket! For some reason the fabric in that pocket would activate the phone as if i've tapped the screen. Even though i have fingerprint with pattern lock, i've found my phone many times in Emergency keypad with random numbers pressed.
