You will need to buy a copy of Windows and install it side by side with your Mac OSX via Bootcamp
Best option is to Google it, Apple have a lot of information on it (its very easy to do)
Parellels should work as well. Very similar to bootcamp, but it runs inside osx.

[Q]Java developement on Android

Hello. I've been wondering for some time now if it's possible to make some Java classes (that you would normally compile and run on windows) on android. Here's the thing; I'm a student and we need to make some silly classes at school. I bought my new SGS3 and I wanted to do all the work on it so I don't have to take my PC to school everytime.
So, is there any kind of emulator or application which could solve my problem?
I know there's Eclipse for Androd Java developement but that's not gonna help me with my problem. I also know that Android has DVM instead of JVM but i just wanna know if there's a workaround.
Thank you,
Krastt
PS: I'm sorry if I this is not the right place to post such a question but honestly it seems the most appropriate.

You could look at ADIE https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aide.ui&hl=en which is a IDE to run on android to build android apps but you might be able to use it to write java classes.
Or check out my project which lets you run full linux distros on top of android, this its a bit of a work around but you could then install a full java IDE and work from there
While I'm waiting for more ideas I'll check your project. I knew about AIDE but I never tought it might also work with Java classes. Imma try that too.

Check out an app called Terminal IDE. I think it's what you are looking for.

Amazing Ubuntu

Seach is down so I couldn't search, but has anyone been able to get Ubuntu working on their Amaze yet?
I had root in terminal last night and was able to launch vnc viewer, but only had a grey background with the lxde X that was movable, and an error dialog that after research made me thing it was do to running from my internal SD, and that the internal sd didn't have enough room available.
I did the juopunutbear s-off trick last night and now I can't get back to root in terminal. Tried lots of things so far and getting frustrated, hopefully someone else has already been down this road and can shed some light for me.
I formatted everything and started with a fresh copy of speed 7.8, got root again. got all the updates and lxde re-intstalled i'm in the x desktop, but just grey background again with the same error dialog from yesterday "There is a problem with the configuration server. (/usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)

The newest one for your carrier. Be sure its a RUU and not an OTA.
Here's a Link to the Collection of RUUs
Lame, the link for the T-Mobile ruu is broken or servers down. Will the ics below it work?

Should I flash zip from 4ext or rename ph85img and go to boot loader? Also wondering why this will help with ubuntu , won't this make me stock without su? I have that radio already. I just got the phone from T-Mobile and it came with that radio on ics
Sent from my HTC Ruby using xda app-developers app
Sorry. I just read the first post and thought you were having trouble with getting the phone up and running after s-off. So disregard everything. Yes, the RUU will get you completely stock.
If it helps any I was having some insomnia and wasn't too focused on your issue. My bad for wasting jour time on your real question.
Finally got it working. Hit me up if you want Intel.
A little slow on GNOME, but runs lightning fast with LXDE
Sent from my HTC Ruby using xda app-developers app
Yuk really dislike LXDE, especially since Open Box can manage on it's own quite nicely.
So really this is running on top of Android right - It's not booting with Linux?
Ruby running CM 1O - using XDA Developer app
Yes runs chroot on top of android. You can run a script that will make it run on boot if you want, but its still on top of android. I found an app called complete Linux installer that does it all for you including download links and installer/launcher scripts, and I've been successful with Ubuntu 12.04, debian and backtrack.

[solved]Linux/windows ROM

Hi guys,
I've got a little bit stupid question. Is it possible to boot a linux or windows os instead of android? I saw something, if I remember right, there was an app which booted linux os. But it should be like custom ROM. Just want to know .
Thanks

On some devices you can have a native port of Linux, if your rooted you can use my project to install Linux on top of android.
Only way you can get windows is using qume to emulate a desktop CPU as windows can not run on ARM procssors

Thanks, but is it possible to somehow run linux not on top of android, run instead of android? How I imagine it, it should be like a custom flashable ROM .

Well yes in the sense there's no android but its not really a ROM in the sense of the word used here.
Only some devices have native ports as they need unlocked boot loaders and the dev team to get it working

Thanks, but you didn't said which devices have. By the way, if it isn't hard, can you post a link where is that rom, want to take a look?

[Q] Broken Screen - Any way to retrieve the data?

My gf's GS3's screen is broken and now we're trying to retrieve the data from the phone. I'm not familiar with the nuances of the SG3 and would appreciate some help. It's stock and bootloader is still locked. Tried usb connection and Kies, but both didn't work. I'm a noob with the SG3 and any suggestions would be appreciated!

It's the international version. GT I9300. It seems I stumbled into a solution. I was playing around with the adb solution someone mentioned in another thread and it lokks like I didn't have the right driver. It auto installed the driver and now I can access the files via windows explorer now

There's an adb backup program somewhere on xda that let's you backup app+data without root too.
