Getting Razr tomorrow morning - Motorola Droid RAZR

Pretty stoked. Upgrading from an Incredible II..
Help a brother out with some useful tips haha

Get the CommuterSeries Otterbox. It's almost the same dimensions as the silicone skin....
Read the manual, or look at some of the videos on the device - there is some useful "Bloatware" that comes with the phone - Stuff I've never seen built in.

Don't think you need any tips, it's a fantastic phone and it will look after you

Just bought a photon, what's next?

What do I need to buy as accessories and what mods are first priority?

Root!
Case, Otterbox commuter?
HDMI Cable?
Up to you really. Whatever suits your needs.
I would hold off on root, myself. I've had mine a couple months, and still haven't rooted, cause the phone does EVERYTHING outta the box. That's just my opinion, though.
What sold me on the Photon was the web dock (even though I can't afford one yet). It's pretty sick. I would also highly recommend the Otterbox defender case. It adds some chunk to the phone, but it's really the best case if you move around a lot, or have kids with sticky fingers (I have 3).
My friend also bought the car dock, and swears by it.
Pew! Pew! Pew! From my Mo-Pho!
http://android-gz.com
Although I've rooted, not sure it's really needed - not a terrible amount of bloatware and lots of memory. WiFi tether? - yes, then root. If you root, consider an ad blocker and Droidwall.
Case - I like Seidio myself, but YMMV
Apps - a 3rd party launcher if you want more eye candy that stock. Launcher Pro + and Beautiful Widgets for me.

lol that is Exactly what I did after i got mine, definetly go with the commuter unless you are in construction or something the defender is great for those needs but it makes the phone bulky! ive dropped my commuter many a time getting out of my truck and not a nick on the device itself, and they come with a screen protector as well. I would download some Tegra optimized games too I think they have 2 or 3 in the tegra zone and have fun with it! Root is great and all but if you have no real need for it i wouldnt worry too much about it,I believe Yay 4 Juggs is in the process of unlocking the bootloader and thats where the real fun begins
Install the newest leaked rom for video chat via gtalk. That was my reason for rooting. Now i am running without su

I had the Bionic for about a week or so before deciding to return it. What's your thoughts on the Rezound compared to the Bionic? Was thinking about trying the Rezound.. worth it?
I have only had it for a few hours but here you go.
Screen is light years better
Seems faster
Sense kills Blur
Camera is much better
Feels sturdier
Found a couple more reviews.
Nicely put together man. Most will fi.d this useful as far as making there decision. Plus I didn't k.ow all these blogs even reviewed it.

I was hoping it would help some people out. I was going to buy it regardless of the reviews but it is amazing how people either love or hate Sense. Having just tried my first Moto phone (the Bionic) I can say it is nice to be back on the HTC train.

I read the Verge one yesterday morning. I thought it was a good opinion well written. The author's only big downside was the SGN's closely timed release.
I hate to say it, but as much as I like customizing my phone, I think the Moto skin boring. I have vanilla Android on my Nook Color and it's just too plain.
The crapware! Seriously how do VZW employees push VZ Navigator and still feel good about themselves? Now they have Vz Videos too? At least I don't see the VZ App store carry over from the DInc.
Android central review is up
Added 3 more. I am hoping Anandtech reviews it.

Returned the razr and decided to give the rezound a try. Been two days and I am very pleased with it. Camera is so much better, screen is amazing, and of course sense is much more familiar to me. Former EVO owner. As much as I wanted to try a non HTC device this time, I got to say the Rezound may be the best HTC device I ever purchased and it my fifth. lol. It's been excellent for me.

Is the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE a good phone?

I know this question could be answered in many different ways. More along the lines of people saying yes it is a good phone since I'm asking in this forum Lol. But O figured its better asking people here on XDA about the device since I know people here adore their device and use it in every way possible....So how is this phone? How is the battery, camera, speed of the phone etc etc. Im looking into buying one for my wife. She has the incredible 2 and is ready for a new phone and I can get it for a pretty good price. To her, she wouldn't probably notice anything like I would about the phone. But I still wanna make sure she has a nice phone to have. I'd appreciate it if I could get some responses to this. I've done research on the phone. I know most the stuff about it. But like I said, I wanna know from people here on XDA. Thanks

Short answer - IMHO, Yes.
I came to this phone from the OG Dinc. When I bought this phone, it was the only 4G phone smaller than 4.3 inches. I do not want a big phone. The OG Dinc was better made than the Dinc4g, but it the only real annoyance is the creaky back cover issue. WIth a little tape and a few post-it notes, it isn't a big deal (fix instructions/pictures here). I could be wrong, but I think the OG DInc camera was a little better, but the 4G camera is still good.
Other than the creaky cover, it has been a great phone. Radio is good, the phone is quick and smooth. The 4G is amazingly fast, battery life is very good (as long as you have a decent signal). I rarely use WiFi.
Now with DirtyRacun s-off and root, the phone is even better. There are several active Devs doing great work on this phone: We have two different recoveries to choose from (CWM or TWRP). The ViperLTE ROM is rock solid and has great tweaks. If you're a CM lover, CyanogenMod 10.1 is in Unofficial Preview, and based on the thread comments, it is working extremely well. Other ROMs are being developed as well.
If you like a car dock, the iBolt car dock works great with this phone, too - even with a TPU case installed.
All in all - I'm quite happy with this phone.
Hey thanks so much for the reply. Great information...so its got a creaky back cover eh? Weird Lol and ya if it was my phone i would definitely root it and probably go with nitsuj's ROM. He does some great work. But its my wifes phone so probably will leave it stock. But....any idea of it getting jellybean anytime soon? I've tried searching and found out its on the list of getting it sometime down the road. Again thanks for your input

Only jb for this phone is the cm10 preview rom in the development section. Which runs nicely btw. There may be a jb update eventually but not anytime soon

agreed with everything already posted.
my #1 item was size. so this was really the only option... i waited a while for it to actually come out and so happy i did. i came from an original incredible.
currently rooted / soff with dirty racun and running viper rom with zero issues.
it would be nice if it were a little more popular and had some more activity around it.
So is anyone else experiencing the creaky back cover?

Credit for the creaky fix goes to jporter396.
That fix along with a case does indeed make the phone feel much more solid. I'm using this one: Link. It's cheap and effective, but I would like the front sides to come up a smidge higher.
yea - the creaky cover is pretty common. i don't notice it with a case on it...
i've always been partial to the tpu style cases - they don't add bulk, soft enough to help with some impact, not so sticky that they catch in pockets... i've been using this one -

Great phone so far!

This is my first HTC for a while. It's a great phone compared to my S3. The keyboard is awesome, screen is amazing in daylight (unlike the S3) and the speakers are awesome. One thing I do enjoy is how simple the new UI is, as well as BlinkFeed. I read a lot on my phone so that's perfect. Not much time with the camera though.

Nothing is close atm. I am lucky that I get to use all of the newest phones and the One just blows everything else away. I wish the home button was centered, but this phone is silky smooth. Off the top of my head I can not think of anything I liked better on the S3 than on the One.

I liked your opinions, they were helpful. The only critcism I would say is your camera angle and view. Maybe you should have a brief into looking at you, then after your intro flip your angle to the phone and show demo's of features of what you like on the phone itself. Typically when I watch reviews I want to see the product. Just waving it around didnt do it for me, but I liked your thoughts and opinions.

I really like this review and I didn't mind that you added the bit about you being a blue collar worker and you wanted to look at the phone with a bit of that perspective. I thought that was a good addition to add. The only thing was a lot of "umm" here and there when you were trying to get a point across. I like that it had a more informal style and it sounded like it really came straight from what you were thinking there and not scripted and very formal. But becoming more confident and getting over the nervousness will really make it a lot better because when your nervous and using "umm" a lot, it makes it sound like you aren't too sure of yourself. I liked the video and subscribed because I think you got potential and I liked the style. Hopefully you'll do some more reviews of stuff and maybe even go over individual features you like about the One. Would be a good way to get more practice. Keep up the good work dude!

Heres a few tips.
You tried to give the viewer a diffrent real world perspective from your point of view.
1. You mention blue collar and im a welder etc.
Suggestion. How the htc one holds up well on the job. Beign a welder myself battery life etc etc is very important. And you can site more examples like importance of it in remote locations etc. Where my job takes me etc a Real world outdoor experiance with the htc one.
People dont need to hear/know blue collar etc. And office job etc.
What you can do is spin it in that sense. Not only like does it connect the user with a scenario but it highlights the devices strengths.
2. The method your speaking etc is just like the way you'd speak to a friend. You can use this style just need to refine it more.
Ill keep pondering and update.
