I have installed stock rom, downloaded from sammobile (gb 2.3.4 ddkq6 for india).
after that installation, i am unable to connect my ace to kies.
is it rom problem or kies problem?
i get the indication of usb connection and i am able to connect my phone in mass storage mode where i can copy files from and to the sd card.
any suggestions?

Hi, since this morning after update of Kies i cant conect my SGS2, the windows find it (cause i can transfer files from phone and SD) but Kies said "cant iniate service on the phone", anyone getting this issue after update ? Thx?

uninstall kies and reinstall.
Just tried that whit no sucess.
Try to Reboot the phone

Had the exact same problem after installing the latest Kies version 2.0.2.
I just disconnected the USB , then did a reboot. It worked.
U could also try reinstalling the drivers. Tools -> Install driver
Since I updated Kies my phone isn't supported for firmware upgrades anymore. I have the DBT german stock Rom whenever I start Kies and connect my phone it's recognized but Kies tells me that it's "not supported for firmware upgrade".
Any ideas or help please?

Had this problem as well,but have now sorted it out..first uninstall kies and and the drivers folder which is separate to keis.. then go to samsung site for sg2, and down load kies from there, when you have reinstalled kies, then plug the usb
lead into your phone and it will reload the drivers, it solved the problem for me. .
KIES has done this to me! Windows 7 no longer recognizes my GS2 under any circumstances. Direct connect for "USB Mass Storage" used to work also. After installing latest KIES to try updating to 2.3.4, no MTP connection is possible. For a while, it was flashing screens back and forth trying to connect, but now I have nothing. Any ideas? Any way to upload drivers directly without installing KIES?
I was going to update to 2.3.4 using ODIN, but can't pass go there either since the computer doesn't recognize the phone. I have switched cables, Would prefer not to to hard reset.

Yes they have been posted on here .
Drivers are also in C/Program Files/Samsung/Kies copy them .

thanks much. solved the problem by unmounting the sd card. rebooted computer and phone. everything then connected fine. updated via ODIN to stock 2.3.4. i put the sd card back in and, voila everything works again. please please shoot me if i ever install kies again...

Can anyone tell me how I can do this? I have a usb cable but my device suffers from the usb port problems which have been common on this phone. I can charge my phone ok but it won't connect to my pc as an external hard drive, through Kies or Odin.
Can anyone help. My sgs2 is rooted and running checkrom v6

Search for "mobile odin" on XDA. It's what you are looking for...
Try mobile Odin (paid app). Put your firmware files on SD card and flash via mobile Odin.

Dropbox
1. Put the rom on dropbox
2. Download app dropbox on mobile
3. Turn wifi on
4. Download rom onto sd card in your chosen folder
5. Reboot into recovery
6. Flash the rom
No usb cable needed there are other methods also but this is probably the best way i do it.
Hi guys, my galaxy s2 I9100 wont connect as USB mass storage device nor to kies in my laptop. But when i connect it to another laptop, it connects!!.
I am running stock ICS 4.0.3.
guys, few weeks back i had rooted my phone and got jelly bean. and then i flashed back the stock ICS 4.0.3 from samfirmware, thus unrooting it. The phone was working fine. Kies detected it and connected as USB too. But now suddenly it does not connect. I have tried all possible things - hard reset,uninstalling KIES, samsung drivers, installing fresh drivers etc. but no help. The phone still connects as USB on another laptop.
Plz help guys.

Hi guys, i was having some issues lately in connecting my phone with my pc through usb cable.
I have to uninstall and re-install several times my drivers in order to view my phone and sdcard as an storage volume in windows xp.
I went back to stock firmware thinking it has something to do with custom roms, but now that i am back to stock, the problems continue, and the kies keeps all time "searching new device" but is unable to recognise my sgs2 :/
Any ideas of what it could be?
Did you root your device? Are you running a custom rom?
Kies doesn't recognize rooted phones or phone with custom rom
