I don't see myself changing from Ace for the next 6 months
love my phone
I bought dis fone in march. 1st time i saw it, fell in love with this beauty. Wanted to buy galaxy s frm d day it launched. But after looking at dis fone, i gave up performance(galaxy s) for looks(ace).

I think the Ace does the Job for Years.
I gave my old G1 to a Friend and even that old Brick does its Job fine
Well I got mine for another year. I agreed a 2 year contract when I got it. When I do upgrade I will be keeping my ace as a spare. I love it and couldnt let it go. When its time comes ill buy a new battery. Leave it uncharged and pack it away in its box for safe keeping. I will also make one last rom for it, using all the advancements I can. Flash it, turn it on and check it, then turn it off and never fully use the rom. It will force my curiosity to turn it on again. Its very special to me. I learned to dev on this phone, any phone after will have alot to live up to. Thats why whatever it is I can tell you right now it will be a galaxy of some kind I upgrade to.

The people who keep their Aces show dedication to the cause, like Jusada i'm tied to a 2 year contract on 3UK and plan to make every penny count out of this mid range badboy... I'm currently devoted in bringing ICS to our Ace. Its so much more fun watching ur phone progress than getting one that does everything out of the Box... if u want performance out of the box get yourself an IPHONE for everything else there's Android
even if I buy a new phone this one never goes away. Let's be serious... THIS IS ACE and has BALLS!!!
Now return the ACE forum at main page before my ACE gets ANGRY!!!!
I'm not gonna change my phone unless it stops working! Since so many great devs/users keep giving their support it would be stupid not to recognise the capabilities of the Ace.
And, anyway, I still find quite ridiculous spending more than 250 euros for a phone.. really: why should I waste 500 or 600 euros on a smartphone? You can buy a washing machine AND a microwave with that money, even saving some!
Quality AND Cheapness = Ace

This is my first Android phone, and my love to this is endless... Even though I plan to change phone after I collect some money and wanna buy a phone from Nexus series, I want that especially because it has MIUI, and I wanna know how that ROM tastes like.
As they said first love never dies.. It holds true to my first andy phone also.. I have a big attachment to this phone.. I flashed GB with ful enthusiasm.. Cant even forget that day

I sleep with my ace side by side also with my e71. not gonna change them, I'll never even sell them, I keep all my phones now. they have sentimental values, moments of my life that may have not happened If I have not got my phones.
got them almost snatched last monday, the thieve's fingers is on my pocket(where my ace is) but I took action against it.
thank God.
maybe about 1-2 years for me
I'll keep using it until I have no use for it. I change phones quite often. At the moment I have an X10i, a ZTE Blade,Galaxy Ace, and a ZTE Crescent(blade2). Have also had at least four others. The one phone I can't give up is my Blade, it has so much devving and an awesome community. Also very easy to work on and cheap. I spend most of the time with the Crescent because its new to me and still fresh. Currently waiting for delivery of Xiaomi Mi-one.

Let each other know why you choose this Handset instead of other High-End Android Device..
So The Question Is..
WHY LG OPTIMUS ONE P500 '?
Well... because probably many of us aren't rich enough to buy a Samsung Galaxy S or S2
BUT aside that obvious financial reason... at the time the conciliation between the pricing AND the phone specs just seemed unbelievable to be true so I took my chances and I'm not regretting at all having this phone! Although I am now tempted to try the Ideos X5, however I am not rich nor can spend more money at the moment so... I'm sticking to my good old fashioned P500
because good price/performance ratio
Best in its price range with hell lot of features
For the price, its basically a g1 w/o the keyboard and has a slightly higher processor. Its not a bad phone

Long Story ^_^
well here's my story.. lol
back in february me and my wife are in hurry buying phone coz we both lost our phone back in november 2010.. we went to a shop near our location and she was in a hurry getting SE X8.. now its my turn to choose what phone should i get
honeslty i dont have anything in mind @ that time' my last high-end device was Nokia N70 hahaha.. then i grab Samsung Wave. first thing i did was go on youtube and watch video' i was a bit dissapointed coz the video was pixelated' i tried to play the same video on X8 and it was not pixelated. Then i gave back the phone to a sales personnel who took care of us. Then i found LG GT540' its pretty fine but i dont like the resisitive touchscreen' and we're running out of time coz its almost 10pm and the shop was about to close. then we went home the other day we went to a mall to buy something (not a phone) then while walking' 1 guy gave us a slip of paper (flyer) and it was an advertisement of LG Optimus One Limited Edition (glossy cover) w/ silicon case & bluetooth headset. Hell Yeah ^_^ the following day i search about LG Optimus One' i found out that its a cheap pretty decent android phone then after a couple of days we went to LG Store and purchased it..
that's my Optimus One Story .. LOL
and im so damn happy how it works now..
im not considering buying another android handset' i am now looking forward to Asus EEPad Transformers ^_^ we'll buy it on December Yeah Man ~
sorry for my english
To be honest I only had cheap flip phones before this one I decided I would spend some money and get a good phone for once. Went to the store, started checking out some phones, took a look at the Blackberry Curve 9300. It was on sale for a good price, and the plans they were offering at the time were good.
Bought the blackberry, found out I hated it after having it for 5 days. I have buddies with androids and they love them. So, back to the store, and I exchanged it for this nifty phone. Best part was that it was 80 bucks cheaper. Now I don't think I'll get anything else, best bang for the buck. I lost my old one and rather than get something different I just bought this phone again.
Then I found this site and now I don't think you could pry my P500 from my cold dead hands.
Thanks XDA for fueling my android addicition
Because my mother only allowed me buy a $0 dollar handset at my Telco. So i picked this instead of galaxy mini

This is an extra reason for acquired this phone
There was a half-off introductory sale for the Optimus One last year. I read about it and it became a snap decision to get one. Half off was 6500 pesos (around 151 dollars) unlocked. My friend and I went to the mall at 9.30 am (it opened at 10am) and sneaked into an open fire escape / side entrance and sat there until 2pm.
We were the first ones there, even before the employee who opened the store arrived. Then he shooed us away since it was against their agreement with the mall to have a crowd before the actual sale. When 10am hit, we heard a stampede of people running towards the store and before we knew it, we went from first to 17th...
I failed the upcoming exam because we stayed there and couldnt focus on reading. Then I failed the next exam since I bricked my phone within the week of getting it. Good thing the warranty was still there.
This phone is awesome Thank you talented developers of xda for making it super awesome!

Before buying a SGS2 I was using HTC Sensation, was infact very happy with sensation but suddenly decided to switch to SGS2 since everyone boasting about it.
as of now i am still very happy with the phone, especially the Screen and how fast the phone is... but there are some issue which i have found only on Samsung firmwares..
1). The lag in opening the contacts and dialer app (it feels like a 800 mhz phone, takes min 3-4 secs)
2). I also find lag in gallery app..
i have never found these lags on HTC phones, even on nexus one..
I have tried many roms on my SGS2 but no sucess
Only CM7 & CM9 roms have zero lag
above all these i am very disappointed with Samsung for still not releasing ICS, dont understand why there is so much delay..
they have made such a great piece of hardware but such pathetic software support.. we shell so much amount for these devices but look how Samsung treats its customers.. same happened with SGS1 also i believe
I have decided not to buy Samsung phones from now on.. it is better to go back to HTC
thumbs down to guys at Samsung !!

Cool story bro.
You may complain about the latency issues, but for the software update you can't say much since no other company has released ics updates except for tablets.
Still not releasing ICS? Please do tell me which phone other than Galaxy Nexus actually has the official ICS? Considering Galaxy nexus is a samsung phone, in a way, they did release a phone with ICS.
Edit: Also hilarious that you are whining on XDA considering there are tons of ICS roms already.
ywah true in a way, but when they have such a good hardware why cant they be quick, they took their own sweet time for GB on SGS1, we also know what happened to Samsung Wave.. even for 2.3.6 update for SGS2 Indian users was release just few weeks back
they have always delayed proper support for their phones
And you honestly think we give a flying **** what you think about Samsung phones & that you're never going to by one again, eh ?
Guess what ?
If you're that unhappy I'll give you €100 for your SGS2. As the eminently wise B3311 said, cool story bro.

If you really feel this way, then buy an LG, and enjoy the real delayed support.
I don't think anything is wrong with Samsung. I recently got my Epic 4g Touch from sprint and I've had two updates. My last phone on the other hand received 1 software update to 2.2.1 and all development was abandoned by the manufacturer and developers here on XDA had to pretty much beg for the source code.
In my opinion Samsung has created an amazing series of phones that will have a long life with development from Samsung and the developers here on XDA.

It's a problem on your side, not a general SGS2 problem. Just try a custom ROM like CheckROM, and disable all animations with Spare Parts. Your eyes will not be able to see how fast apps open.
SGS2 is the fastest piece of mobile hardware I've ever used, no doubt about it. It's much faster than my friends' HTCs.
About ICS, Samsung's competitors haven't released an ICS ROM either. This ICS thing is way overhyped anyway. It's not much more than a pretty skin over Gingerbread with a cool new launcher. Everytime I try out an ICS ROM, I come back to Gingerbread wondering what the fuss is all about.
Try this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312240
It will make all your complaints go away.
You can put an ICS skin over it for the feel

I'm not sure if you're talking about the OP, or my post.
Nonetheless, this thread's pointless. He should've done some more research before throwing his money away.
The "problem" with Samsung is that they want to do it right, not quick.
The most recent ICS leak (which, in case you didn't catch it, is the current version/build of ICS Sammy is working on ATM) still has a few bugs and issues and they want to fix those first and make the ROM stable and bugfree before releasing it as an official update.
As already said, show us ONE other phone (esp. HTC, which are always way behind updates) that has an official, final ICS update already.
So, on the other hand: what is the problem with YOU?
Guys I would like your opinion. Should I trade my s 2 for a note?? It will be a simple trade no money involved? Should I do this is the note better?
Go ask in the Note forum. How would we know ? We're SGS2 owners, remember ? #duh
If you can carry it have have large pockets and its not your primary phone, then yes
But when its your primary phone then its too big to take it everywhere and answering phone calls in public looks very weird
As no money is involved I'd say yes. It's a lovely phone if you can get used to the size. Played with it many times and it's lovely. The screen size is excellent and doesn't seem that big due to its slimness.
The s-pen is quite useful. And development seems good as well.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
If I had this offer I would do it without hesitation. Its just a bigger SG2, bigger battery and its a really nice experience especially looking at web sites with the bigger screen. Plus the s pen I say do it.
i would do it, its simple - bigger screen and better resolution
You won't regret, do it. And too bad nobody asks me to trade
If you happen to you has used the large size of the Note then takes!
I would keep the S2.

I agree with most who posted here, as I have a friend who has one and am thinking of getting one myself (but want to wait couple more months to see what other new phones coming).
You have to ask yourself What you want to use it for?!
I do a few jobs and one of them is graphics design. Something like that can be useful to me, when I have an idea from out of the blue and want to do a quick mockup.
- or someone in business who answers many emails might like more space.
However - I also think the price of it is a bit high (and I'm not short on money). Here in Asia, can get myself a tab/pad for even cheaper... which will give me better use for what I need.
Hey everyone,
Just a short summary on me first and what gadgets i've owned before..
Every single iPhone, the 2G, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, Every single iPad, 1,2,3,
The HTC TItan Windows Phone, also I have the new Lumia 900.
The original first Motoroal Droid, and the Nexus one, the LG G2x, the Samsung galaxy S2, the Motorola RAZR MAXX.
As you can see I love gadgets, I don't have an ounce of fanboy'ism in my blood period.
Android in itself actually upset me, i just got tired of all the BS...that's why I hopped around phones a lot.. i got tired of resetting them.. battery pulling..etc etc...the Sluggishness of the UI.. etc.. The SGS2 was really IMO the best Android phone out of all of them that i've ever used.. i loved it.
Now we are here to the Galaxy note... WOW..JUST WOW.. i'm blown away by this thing.. maybe it's the screen size? or the gorgeous looking screen in general?
The build quality is NOT CHEAP.. for those of you reading this.. i was worried about that looking at videos b/c it LOOKS like cheap plastic.. trust me it's not at all.. coming from the RAZR Mazz which is supposed to have a solid back? that thing was garbage compared to this build quality.. I even love the feel of the clicking on the Power Sleep button.
Software-, I used it for 2 hours out of box, and was pretty turned off.. i was thinking to myself.. oh god here we go.. So i RUSHED to the XDA forums looking for roms.. i asked around nobody really answered or helped me so i figured it out on my own.
I ended up choosing the Team perfection Objection (RC3)..
i'm BLOWN AWAY... it's so smooth and fast... EVERYTHING WORKS.. i love it..
I can honestly say this is definitely going to hold me over until the iPhone 6 gen comes out. And it might take a miracle to pull me away because i have a feeling i'm going to fall in love with the huge screen size..
Camera-, it takes GREAT pictures.. i'm sure you guys already know that.. but i just had to confirm for those still thinking about buying.. coming from an iPhone 4S i don't feel bad about this purchase at all..
All in all.. my only frustration is that i don't have an LTE signal yet where i live... it's frustrating b/c it's literally 10 miles down the road! I could literally travel down the road and it picks up... it's also not where I work... =-( I hope ATT gets it's act together.

I think thats what get me through the day.... Can't wait till the devs get the official ICS for i717!!!
I really need to root this thing. Had it about a week, switching from Sprint, so we are trying it and ATT out for a bit to see if we want to leave sprint. That is subject to personal preference but Flappjaxxx's rom is superb. No question about that.

What's the difference between Flappjaxxx's rom and Team perfection's objection?
I certainly love my Note and I get random glances and questions that I never got with any other phone. With that said, am I the only one irritated with people callimg it a tablet?

Everything feels like a toy compared to the Note. My Infuse has a 4.5 inch screen which not so long ago was a monster phone, and now that just feels silly to use. Haha.

Same here... I was using a Samsung Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket and that's no small device. My wife has the same phone. When I hold it in my hand it feels tiny. At this point, the iPhone is a joke. A fragile device with little ability to customize and a tiny screen. No thanks. I know several people who left Apple because the iPhone is archaic and they don't regret it.
I'm thinking of getting this phone this weekend, but as I observe there and there, some of you are leaving and planning to sell their S3's and thinking of getting a new device. Do you think the support(from xda and/or samsung) will last for the next 2 years, as I want to use this phone in a long-term. Do you think it's still worth-it to buy this phone at this time?
BTW, I'm planning to get the I9300.
(forgive me if I'm in the wrong section)
I'm happy with it and I definitely think there will be developers working on it for a while. The SGS still has new roms coming out and that phone is older than my momma
I think my s3 is awesome bro, its up to you but it doesnt matter when you buy a phone there will be always something bigger and better around the corner! In the s3 you have big spec and it will last you a while plus there is always New Roms, kernels, mods and themes on XDA to keep you busy. Good luck on your choice bro.

i think it's worth it i was hesitating for quite some time before i bought it, but i don't regret it, i would buy it again moreover, i think it has potencial to last for at least 2 years thanks to the hardware, so even if samsung stops pushing new updates, i'm sure there will always be somebody, who'll make new android versions ready for s3
Totally worth it
SGS3 is totally worth it, unless you'd like a bigger unit, in which case I respectfully suggest you to consider the Note 2.
