Hello to everyone!
I have a big problem with my SGS2.
I wanted to restore via RomManager (premium). (A backup of my previous OS stock ROM with CF-root kernel).
Because the flashing of CM7 via RomManager has not worked. First I had to flash the Stock Rom before, because my Sgs2 dosent starts..
So purely in the recovery and backup chosen ..
Surprise! Mobile phone hangs now at "Samsung S2 Galaxy S2..."
lettering.
I come without any problems into the download mode, but my Pc writes "unknown device" .. And it will not be displayed in Odin ..
Drivers ect. are all there ..
Does anyone have any advice what I can do now?
Thanks for reading through.
Sorry 4 my bad english.
Mfg Ente

Go back in recovery and wipe cache and data/factory reset and than reboot.
It should work now. Try another usb-port for pc recognition and enable usb debugging in settings.

I am having a unique problem with my s2 .. Here's what happened :
I was on 2.3.6 firmware ( rooted) and my device was not recognized neither by kies nor odin .. So to upgrade to ice cream sandwich .. I've put the rom.md5 on the internal card .. And flashed using mobile odin .. Since then .. The phone switches on and keeps the screen on samsung logo .. Then the screen is black .. I made a factory reset .. Tried to connect the phone to my computer but it's still unknown .. What should I do ?!!!!!
Can you reboot in clockwork mod recovery?
Yeh .. And tried all options there
Someone else also had that same problem with mobile odin. I think you just have to flash it from pc. And if you can get in to cwm, then you can restore nandroid backup (i'm assuming you backed up your rom) and flashing ics from desktop odin. Remember to factory reset after flashing ics.
And for the problem your pc not seeing your phone, there's plenty of information how to get proper drivers for kies/odin on this site.
Anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

If you have a rom or a back up on you sd card, reboot in recovery and flash a rom or restore a rom
I have a backed up rom .. But there are no options to install ..
Hello Everyone,
Was wondering if anyone can help me solve a problem regarding the ROM of my Galaxy S2.
I've had my phone for more than 18 months now and I remember having it rooted and the ROM changed last year.
The guy who helped modify my phone is no longer around and so I am making attempts to change the ROM myself.
The current ROM on my phone is called Litening ROM version 6.1 and it was a fantastic ROM. However, it's already very old and needs to be upgraded to the latest ones.
I've downloaded and tried to install 3 ROMs so far and nothing seems to work.
I wiped the cache partition clean and also did a factory data reset.
Now, whenever I access the downloaded ROM from my sdcard, it always ends up saying:
"E: Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device)"
What does this mean? My device has ample memory and I've deleted most of the files on the sdcard already to make even more space.
My device is also rooted - so I don't think rooting it again is needed.
Please see attached pictures.
I've tried several ROMs and I'm now on my last ROM which is the Omega ROM for Galaxy S2.
All ROMs do not install and the same error message always shows up during installation.
Hope you can recommend a good solution for this.
Regards.

Hi there. Sorry but I'm not familiar with CWM recovery. My phone is factory reset so I did not install any other program.
Is CWM recovery an app which can be downloaded?
I just saw the program CWM recovery on my friend's Galaxy S3 which has Omega ROM installed on it.
But my S2 with Litening ROM does not have this app.
Cheers.

Here mate. Download thishttp://db.tt/MxD7F6xg.
Install it through recovery and it will replace it with CWM recovery (temporary).
Then flash your new rom through that.

Hi experts, I need your urgent help, I've been dragging this today with no solution.
First my s3 showed a "cannot read sdcard" when I tried to flash the Temasek v.22 update. The phone was trapped in a loop and I at least I could enter recovery.
I though it was a recovery problem and I flashed a new recovery (6.0.1.9.) via ODIN. The result was the phone stucked in the "Samsung Galaxy s III" logo and I cannot even access to the CWM.
The last thing I've tried was flashing a Stock ROM via Odin but it did fail. The only menu I can enter now is the Download Mode.
Does anybody know if I'm bricked or what I should do to solve it?
Thanks
i suggest installing stock rom via odin, flash recovery and than install rom.
Im afraid your hp might be bricked.
Ok lets do some checks.
Go to download mode and see whether the brand name '' i9300'' is there.. If yes, there is hope...

Hi every body hope you're doing great! Well today i had accidentally flash my galaxy s2 with the wrong room(jelly bean XXLSJ) via room manger in cyanogen mod 9 and i forgot that it was rooted so i wont be able to get access to it: the screen stop at the samsung logo
Therfore i tried to reflash it with cyangen mod again with odin but odin is unable to finish the flashing process and it remain like that (up it show kernel in the rectangle )
I was shocked and thankfully i steel have the download mode but i can't access to the recovery menu i didn't know what to do, i tried other stock rooms but in vain
When i boot normally it said in the screen "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
Can you help me guys? I will be grateful ^_^
Well firstly its "rom" not "room.
To solve your situation simply flash Siyah kernel via download mode in odin. Once installed you will have cwm so just boot into recovery and flash the rom zip you want.
For future reference you should NOT be using "Rom Manager" from google play etc. Its not properley compatible with I9100. If you wish to flash roms or backup etc then just reboot into CWM or use the CWM Manager that is installed after flashing some kernels like Siyah.

Remove battery, re-install Kies (to refresh drivers), reboot system and then try flashing again.

Then try a different USB port or different system.
I have a rooted galaxy s2, I was on a custom rom and decided to restore the stock one. then I flashed siya kernel because it was shutting down randomly. then I opened superSU app after it updated automatically on the market. it asked to update (and something about binary) choosing normal update or using cmw or twrp if oono a custom rom. I chose the cmw or twrp by accident and said that if the phone didn't reboot into rrecovery I have to do it manually
the phone **** down and when I try to turn it on it doesn't. the GALAXY S2 logo shows up then it turns black . I also tried to boot it into recovery and it didn't work either. so what's the problem and how can I fix it
Download mode work? Flash stock with odin
Or flash siyah in odin then boot to recovery and do a factory reset

odin can't recognize the phone
even though I installed the usb drivers and kies
I guess it's because I can't enable usb debugging since the phone doesn't turn on
any other idea?
Check out @Hopper8 thread for odin trouble
No need for usb debugging for an Odin flash. As andrewwright said, click the link in my signature and follow the troubleshooting steps.
