Love my Rezound. However, there is one thing that bugs the living sh*t out of me. If I am texting someone and receive an incoming message while the messaging app is open, the phone does not notify me. Not a big deal when the screen is on. BUT, if I set the phone down and the screen times out, the phone STILL does not audibly notify me. Does this happen with anybody else?
Both have happened to me. I've heard it while texting and also not had them. I'm pretty sure I've heard it while I am actually "typing" a message but there have definitely been times when there has been no notification. Next time I'm with a friend maybe we'll do some tests on the timing of it.
That has happened to me also. I have been trying to figure out what causes this.
This has happened to me on many phones. The resound, Droid bionic, evo 4G, thunderbolt. IPhone 4.

I've had it happen to me too multiple times on my rezound and it's kind of annoying. Especially when you're texting someone and you just put the phone down without turning the screen off because you're expecting a quick reply but never get notified that you received one.
I've never had this happen to me on m OG Droid or my Incredible, but then again neither of those were stock for longer than a week.
Check your notification volume after your screen times out.

There are a few posts out there where people still have some issues after the OTA, but it seems that, at least for some, things might also be better.
How many of you still have issues with the phone hanging or rebooting now that you've had the OTA update?
I also wonder if maybe it is happening because I'm using Go Launcher Ex rather than Moto's.
I am using the stock launcher and get hangs/reboots every couple of days. Before the update it would just shut off, and I would plug the USB in to get it to power back up, since the update I have only had it do that a couple of times, but I am having reboots now too (maybe instead of additional shutdowns). I'm not really sure if that's better though :/
I still get muted audio, but now I don't have to restart the phone to make calls. Just try calling again and again and it eventually it will go thru with sound. That said the phone had become very laggy since the update.
No more muted calls I or random reboots on my photon or my girlfriends....
I used the leaked update thru rsdlite ...she flashed hers thru the OTA
Again no issues since the update ..loving the phones

I am not seeing any lagging nor other issues since the sprint ota update. Note, I have not rooted my phone and am using "motor blur".
I do not usually call out a lot so I cannot say for sure if the no audio calls are still an issue for me. I also power down and start up my phone every morning.

No lag at all and in fact it became even faster after I did a factory reset after the OTA. as for lockups I have none of that, but sometime when I go to make a call it'll reboot the phone, but that is usually because the radio is already on the fritz. But when I say radio I'm talking about the 3G/voice radio the WIFI and 4G radios still function perfectly fine while the 3G is totally locked up and the bars never go up or down at all. The restarts from the radio have become less frequent it seems and I am starting to see it do it if I jump between roaming and Sprint. So I'm going to run as Sprint only for a week and see what happens.
Also a funny thing I noticed is that before I did the factory reset I was rooted and after the FR I was still rooted??? very odd...
I did the ota update the day it came out and am not having any muted call issues but am having an issue where the phone hangs once a day and becomes unresponsive. The only way to get it working is to remove the battery for a few seconds and replace it and restart the phone. I had called sprint and they had me hard reset to stock. That worked for two days and its back to doing it everyone day again. I don't know about anyone else, but this is not making me happy I really needs a stable phone..... Help!

Mine reboots from time to time as well. I went to the circus yesterday & was trying to use the camera & it wouldn't start up. I power cycled the phone & it was good to go. Then I got a phone call, the audio going to my bluetooth (Jawbone Era) got real bad, to the point I had to turn it off & back on. The sound was coming from both the bluetooth (static & spurts of words) & the handset (regular audio). Anyone experienced anything like this?

I got mine after the update but I have not had any muted calls...I rarely call out or receive on my phone though. I do however have random reboots while streaming music or using navigation on my phone. I also will lose the ability to stream Last FM and / or Pandora randomly while I still have full cell signal. After starting and stopping playback several times I can get them to work. I did have this issue with my old HTC Hero as well but no where near as often.
I was reading a web page in a restaurant & it just rebooted on me. No rhyme or reason. I want to like this phone but paying $600 for it to have this problem is a bit much to take.

I've had a few reboots since the update but I narrowed the problem down to the hearing aid option under call settings. Once I turned off that feature, my phone has been virtually flawless. HELL YEAH!!!
I've had the phone for 5 days, and I've gotten about 5 restarts.
It happens when I'm doing something. Playing with ring tones, playing a poker game app...
Just wondering if it's happened to anyone else, and if it's hardware or software related.
EDIT: 9/29/2011
I've had the phone for about 2 weeks now. The past week, I've not had any restarts. Don't know what's changed. I think there was an OTA update about last week. I"ve been using it as much as I had been - web browser, angry birds, email, etc...
Oh, about last week I also re-seated the battery. Don't know if that does anything, since the battery seem like it was seated fine. But someone recommended it. Could just be a fluke.
So, one way or another, the random restarts seem to have solved itself.
Me also
Had mine for about a week and has rebooted at least 5 times. Phone seems to hang and then rebooted.
I am coming from an EVO which never had these problems. Thought about trying a Samsung or another Photon
Yea, just yesterday when I was using my flashlight app for a few minutes. It has mostly happened when I used the led flash as a flashlight. It doesn't matter which app I use, it just restarts sometimes.
And also when I was playing a game today.

I have had mine for over a month also and have had one restart..... but then again every phone I have ever had restarted on its own at some point. By far this has been the best phone yet.
Had restarts and a few lock ups everyday. Got a replacement and no issues since.

None for me after 3 weeks.
My EVO 3D used to do it once in a while when it would lose a signal.
Those who don't have random restarts hardly at all...are you installing apps and using the phone fairly heavily?
I'm wondering if this is a hardware of software issue.
Try re-seating your battery and make sure the back is on good.I was having the restart issue and it ended up being that the rep that initially started the phone up didn't put the battery door on correctly.

Exactly. I've only had one random restart, after the OTA, but I chalk it up to the heat wave where I was working. Poor Mo-Pho got up to 119 degrees.
I would also suggest a factory reset and wipe of the internal SD, a lot of times the testing of each phone before they're put in the box can cause issues.

no problems here. love this phone!
Me I am facing this issue since I got the phone I am at that point of replace the unit or order other phone!
What do you think?
I am really so pissed how is that you see only good comments on this phone and no body mention this known issue on thos youtubbie crappy videos...
I cant believe that I paid good money for this phone and I am not the only one with the issue. Sad thing no body know if this is HW or Sorftware!
I have no problem fixing the software... we really need the hackers spending some time debugging this issue.
Had my phone for a month, and have had 3. I am a heavy user so I expect it. Best phone I ever had.

Ive had my phone for about a month, probably had 7 or 8 restarts total since I got it, two in one day during the first week but it seems better after the second OTA update. For the past two weeks I've only had two restarts. Each time it restarted I was playing angry birds and had let the phone got to sleep while in the middle of playing. When I woke it up it restarted. Sounds software related to me. Im rooted but not unlocked. I love this phone!
I get over 1 a day. Its sad. Def gonna get a replacement when I get the time

I get atleast one a day. I don't notice because at home I set my phone down a lot. It gets worse when im on the phone surfing the web. Then it seems to do it more often. Yesterday it rebooted three times in one hour. It gets annoying but im past my 30 days to return plus Sprint doesn't have any other phone that interests me.

I have the reboot issue, but I have narrowed it down. DEVS TAKE A LOOK!!
So far I can get a 100% repro of this issue if
1. I am on WIFI for DATA and make or receive a call.
2. then leave WIFI area and attempt to call out, TXT or use 3G data.
3. phone will reboot every time when that occurs.
60% repro of reboot issue with the fallowing.
1. make or receive call with WIFI on but not attached to network.
2. go into WIFI range of a known(not new!) WIFI hotspot and phone attaches to WIFI on it's own.(this will sometimes cause the WIFI, 3G, and phone signal to all appear in the task bar at the same time)
3. make a phone call, txt or turn off WIFI then attempt to use 3G data and phone will reboot.
Also this is VERY IMPORTANT!! The conditions above will not cause the reboot on it's own. If you have data updates off or leave WIFI off all day then you might never see this. Also VERY important if you receive a call when attached to WIFI and then use your phone for data only you will not get the reboot right away it may take upto 30-40 min. Also important, if you attempt to do either repro above via making a phone call you will see the dialer get stuck at "connecting" in the upper left hand side, but it will never go to "connected" and hitting anything on the dialer or the back button will not help only home, but you will notice nothing on the phone will work anymore. This will ultimately lead to a reboot!
Here is the problem as I have trouble shot the living crap out of this and it seem that either the voice/3G radio is locking up or the dialer is crapping out.
Also on a side note that when the dialer is stuck on "connecting" if you force stop the dialer it does nothing, but if you force stop the "dialer storage" it will kill the dialer, but you will still get a reboot at some point after that.
So now we know where to look at for this issue. Can any of the devs look into this as I am not sure where to go from here, but this IS the problem everyone is seeing and can be hardware or software.
So I know I saw this somewhere but I cant seem to find it anywhere now. I am having a problem with my txt messages coming in earlier than they should. My outgoing have the correct time but my incoming in the thread is always about a half hour too early and end up making it so my threaded convos are seperated. Does anyone know how to fix this? It never did this before and just started last night after I installed a battery mod. Its really quite annoying.
samething started happening to me last night. no idea whats causing it, I havent made any changes to my phone since root a few weeks ago. still on stock fwiw
hmm I was thinking it was the time change but I was txting last night when the time changed and everything was fine after that. Then I stopped txting and installed a battery mod and the touch wiz mod and this morning I noticed none of my messages were coming in correctly. I know there is an app called smstimefix but i'd rather not have to use an app (using some battery and resources) to fix something that was working before.
mine seems to be more than a time issue, im having trouble receiving texts at all now, everything is coming in like 30 minutes late and often in mass groups of messages.
Nice to see I'm not the only one.
It's the Y2K bug back for revenge! Just really late.... kinda like my text messages....
So nobody has a fix for this?
same
I had the same problem yesterday, with both mis-labeled time and delayed message received. I don't if it was the time change or the AT&T outage in my area(maybe related?).
I just removed my battery a couple of times and texts are coming in just fine now.
Same here. That was really strange cuz the time change didnt affect me at first but when I woke up it was all messed up. hmm oh well lol.
I talked to an AT&T person and she said it was caused by the time change and should be fixed by now ISH

This has been happening to me on and off for the last month. I hope its a network thing, but it seems unlikely if it was happening a month ago.
Hi guys, long time X2 user here. I have recently been having text messaging problems in which every now and then a text I send will look like it went through fine on my phone, but the recipient never receives it. Or, sometimes a text will not go through as mentioned above but then if I send another text an hour or two later to the same person, she gets both texts at the same time!!! Even though they were sent hours or even days apart.
It is incredibly frustrating, and texting is one of the few things that I NEED my phone to do. I'm booting up an older Driod 3 to use for now, but has anyone had a problem like this? Or does anyone know how to fix it? I've sbf-ed twice, been on stock, CM7, and Eclipse but the problem persists on all of them. Thanks

cm9 is one of the only roms that hasnt done this to me. about time for a new phone i say. x2 has been hell.
if i hadnt seen that most android phones ran MUCH better than this one, i would probably move on to another OS entirely.
i now know that paying a little bit out of pocket at upgrade time will save you HOURS and SOOO MANY headaches down the road. s4 here i come !
i honestly dont think there is a way around this issue. but i can also so that eclipse has never given me this problem. although it has plenty of its own problems as well.
are all of these texts to the same person? could it be them/their phone?
Nah it's crazy. I know of 4 different phones it has done this with, 2 iphones and 2 other droids.
I'm pretty good with troubleshooting things, but I'm not really sure what else I can do for this other than an sbf LOL.
I need my phone to do two things, at the bare minimum: make calls and text. That's it haha. This might force me to put the old X2 out to pasture if I can't fix it; because I doubt Verizon will fix it, they'll probably just charge me for a pre-owned replacement.

it made me really mad a few years ago when my mother ran over her Voyager and they sent her a refurbished phone as a replacement. the first one they sent her even had a bad esn. she cried. i raged. and i havent payed for "insurance" since. i just get a good case as my "insurance"
i guess that delayed and sometimes mis-sent text is just something we have to live with in order to enjoy technology. i cant say that i have had this issue much, if at all. unless i was running cm7. sorry about your luck sir.
I have tried to fix this issue myself and spent many hours on it but I am at a loss. so I'm hoping someone here has some insight.
I can send text messages just fine and I can receive them "mostly" without any issue. However I noticed over the past few months people saying they texted me and when I look I never got them. When I pull my text logs from Verizon the network shows they were received so the issue is definitely local on my device. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it, and it's never a huge blackout just random ones missing here and there. It can be mid conversation or someone who hasn't sent me anything for days.
I'm sure it's one app causing the issue but I have so many I don't know how to identify which one it is. I use my phone for work so I'd really like to avoid having to do a factory reset as I can't afford to slowly install apps one by one to see if the issue disappears mainly because the problem is so hard to replicate. Anyone know of a method to identify this? Maybe some sort of Hijackthis? I'm out of ideas. Thanks
