Ok idea is straight.. Now in my SD card i hav ringtones and other music and some games background music. But i want the Music player application to read only E:/Music/ or kinda stuff i.e,. only a specific folder. I tried unzipping the apk file. But struggling to find which xml/file contains this info.. Anyone pls help me.

Try an alternative music player that lets you define directories such as 'cubed' Or if you don't use the ringtones and such put a dot infront of the folder name to hide it

Thanks for the reply.. But now i have GC v2.3.. It has IC music apk.. Now i need to install MIUI music. So i simply delete IC music apk and copy and paste miui music apk??? Ofcourse setting the permission!

Yeah I tryed that but that messes up, just install it like a normal .apk

Hi All,
I need your favor guys. I don't know what happened my optimus p500 the default music player is not loading. I am not able to see it in app drawer. i also checked it via root explorer and music files are their in system/app folder. Could you provide me the music player.

Use Titanium Backup to get apk file out
Hey guys the title says it all. Where to hide my porn in the file manager so that it is invisible in the gallery.
I put my porn in my created folder 'other' but still it is visible in my gallery lol

Remove the filename extension. Works for me
audio manager is a good app to hide any secret information....

Any folder name that begins with a ' . ' (period) wont be scanned by the gallery.

Well if you really wanna hide stuff even from sdcard, use audio manager by Anuj Tenani ( The name of app is purposely named) .
It works as a audio profiler but once you long press the title of app you go into this secret world.
It encrypts data (with some simple and fast method) so even if someone gets hold of sdcard no worry. You can also uninstall the app(data remains hidden), when you reinstall you shall find everything as it is.
You have to long press the media or folder you want hide > Share > audio manager.
Good things in life are always free.
But if you just want to hide it from gallery use gallery excluder it makes the ".nomedia" files for you. (Restart gallery one or two times)

You can also zip them or add .zip extension to the master folder. Root explorer and astro play the zip directly without Unzipping.

Apending folder with .zip I think wont work, gallery will still show the content because its a folder with .zip in the name not extension.

Just tried after adding .zip to my video songs folder. Videos show in gallery but don't play. They don't play in any video player either.
Deleting the created thumbnails will also solve the problem of showing in gallery.

i jst wonderng wat i had done..
every time i received mp3 files via blutoot..
the picture on the mp3 file was my picture..
as far as i know the pic should be the one who song the mp3 file..or if the mp3 files had no pic of the singer a default from our fone will be assign..
but in my case..my pics was assign by my phone..
i had deleted the pic on my galery..and reboot bit still ot was assigned..
i think i had changed accidentally the default pic that should be assign on mp3 files..
how cn i back to normal again?

There are a few apps on the market that will do it for you, do a search for cover art downloader. Should fix it and find cover art you dont have.

thanks for the suggestion but i want to change it without the apps to be DL..
maybe there something option to set it to default album pic and not my picture..
Think you'll have problems. You really need to find the cause. You could try tranfering from itune. It supports cover art. But i think its unlikely to help. Maybe worth a shot.

Wait for a while then check again or try rebooting your phone. Btw, what rom are you using?
Moving your songs to a folder named 'music' might work too

I tried gtr, oxygen, nightly and all except ics rom but problem is there with me present I'm using perfect peso 2.3.
Songs are in music folder only
Ok!, try to browse using root explorer, and show hidden files, and find ".nomedia" file to the folder where the music files are located and delete it. Now go to dev tools and selext media scanner.. that should do the trick..

BRO i tried that but no result.what is annoying me more is why only poweramp working if there is any problem in sd card that also should not work.I don't want to format my sd card.I'd there any easy to sort it out

Did you try to delete data on media storage and reboot?

So here is my small problem
I copied alot of music to my internal storage, into sdcard/music when i first got my S3. Worked perfectly.
I was using the stock Music player for a while then it got on my nerves and i installed PlayerPro which works great.
Now a months later i got some new music and i copied it to my internal sd.
The only thing:
The music is not showing up in stock player and playerpro ,however it can show in poweramp trial version which i got from playstore. I can play the files from my file manager but in the actual music app it wont show up.
I rebooted, reinstalled music apps,removed avast mobile security, cleared cache on all involved apps, deleted the music and copied again, and manual copy...
And it cant be the music itself because it works when picked directly in file manager
Tried placing the music in various location in my internal sd. It still wont work either.
Not any of you aware and have solution for this minor flaw?

Tried rescan media root. Still cant find em in the player.
Give it some time I had the same problem on my s2 and xperia arc

found my way to sync my song into the player.
1. Make a .rar file of all the song in pc
2. Copy to internal SD
3. Unrar using Unrar pro.
4. Voila , all song are synced into my player.
