HTC Ebook Reader apk - HTC Amaze 4G

I am looking for HTC Reader application for my amaze 4g
I have installed Quicksense ROm and Android HD rom
But none of them have it.
Is there a reason why amaze 4g doesnt have htc reader installed?
and where can i get it?
I found few apks but when i install it and try to run it all of them give me force close when I try to open a pdf with htc reader.

anyone ?
No one can help ????

Any particular reason you are intent on having the specific HTC reader? I use Aldiko which allows you to import existing ebooks that you already own.

I also use Aldiko, but I found this online, it might be what your looking for.

I'm running BeastMod 2.2.0 and it FC'd on me, but you can give it a try on QuickSense if you want.
FWIW, I'd definitely take a look at Aldiko.

[Q] "Get more HTC widgets" downloads but doesn't install

As the title says, the menu to get more widgets in Lightning Rom (my rom) will download the widget but not install it. If anyone has found a fix for this so I can fix my jacked up rom, it would be greatly appreciated. I have been working on this all morning and am stuck....as always thanks for any info.
To my knowledge and I could be wrong but the options are there but since there is no official support for the thunderbolt with htc hub you can't install any of them. One htc gives official support then you will be able to use them.

This is not the case with the widgets, an unrooted phone can use these. what you are talking about is skins, and you are correct they cannot be downloaded at this time.
Ringtone downloads work.

Need quickoffice apk for cyanogen mod 7.0.0 rc2

For about a month now I have been looking for QuickOffice in which the "package will parse" whenever I try to install it fails and it comes up with something like this. Also, sometimes if it does install it force closes.
ANY HELP?

I thought the same but I also tried DocumentsToGo and same thing.

Do you think Quick office is better than documents to go?

That's a great app. Been using it on all my Sense roms since my OG EVO. It is a paid app.

Not sure, but you might have to have the flashlight app installed for this to work.

Just a heads up, I believe an updated version is posted HERE It works great for me.
HTC offers the app through the HTC HUB also. Of course they may push other stuff to the phone but its still available.
this is a complete noob question but how are we installing the apks to the 3D?

Download the apk onto your SD card, then go to the file location and select it using any file managaer (OI File Manager, Astro, File Expert, Root Explorer, etc.). Then you can install it like any other app.

Reader App

I really like the way the the scribe pen can be used in the reader app. I was going to convert some of my ebooks to a format that can be read using the reader app. However, I have not been able to find the folder where the reader looks for books. The kindle and nook readers both user a folder on the sdcard called kindle and nook. I didn't find anything that looked like a folder for the reader. Does anybody know where it looks for ebooks?
It's called digital-editions or something like that (located in the main directory)
On my HTC View I just created a folder in the root of the internal memory caled ebooks and put the books in that folder, and then the reader found them automatically.

I tried make a folder "Digital Editions" in sdcard and its work fine.
Put your books with ePUB format in that folder and restart the device...
Reader automatically imports all epub files from the sdcard.

Yes, I've gotten that, too. I am signed in with it, but I can't connect properly to the (Kobo) store through the Reader app. I ended up installing the Kobo app, which I buy books through, and then they show up as ready to download in the Reader app. The latest update might have fixed all this, though--haven't tried to buy a book in several weeks.

I have this problem too. Its a shame, the app seemed promising.
Also the full fledged kobo app won't work for me either.

Installing HTC eReader

So I have been researching on how to install the HTC eReader apk onto my rooted Evo 3D running CM9 by Joelz. What I found is that i have to move the apk into system/app and then change the permissions, yet every time i move it there it gives me an error. I also tried changing the permissions while the apk was still in the sdcard folder, yet no soup. Any suggestions?
I'm thinking because im HBoot 1.50 it's not true root so i can't change permissions. If that's true any work around? I loved that app and have tried countless others with no satisfaction.

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but in the file manager that you are using, do you have the options set " Mount file system - Mount /./system as writable" ? that could explain the errors that you might be having and also pretty sure if you have to allow it superuser permission... I at times forget myself to make sure to enable it to be writable. Hope it helps....

I bought the Root Explorer (File Manager) app for like $4. It grants Superuser permission on the start up every time. I don't see the " Mount file system - Mount /./system as writable" you are talking about.

I've searched that initially yet other people were getting it to install. But now that I think about it that guy had a rooted Desire HD GSM version. So you might be right.

Not sure, I basically use file explorer and not too much on root explorer. Sorry I couldn't be of any help on this one... but as long you check that "Mount R/O" ( top of the screen ) you should be able to write to the partition you need though.

You would need the frameworks for a Sense build to get the proper icons and stuff, but then also a sense-compatible kernel to make those work.

Now I need a reader app that's as polished and functional as HTC Reader. Any suggestions?
