[Q] USB Host Mode In Cyanogen? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does any of the roms like Cyanogen support USB Host mode?
I am currently using the latest version of the Cyanogen ICS-themed ROM and I tried connecting USB Hard Disks and USB Flash Drives to my Atrix through my (powered) dock but it doesn't work.
Both hard disk and flash drives were formatted to FAT32.
Nothing happens at all when the hard disk is connected.
When the flash drive is connected, it just goes "Preparing SD Card - Checking for errors" in the notification pane. I tried waiting for a while, say 5 minutes but nothing else happens.
I went to /sd-ext and it is empty.
I tried connecting a mouse and keyboard and it works fine though.
Any advice?

[Q] Help Please! Optimus V wont connect to the computer!!

my optimus v is rooted and has cm7 on it. It worked fine until today when i tried to connect my phone to my computer. When the "usb Mass Storage" icon shows up and i press mount, all it does is say "sd card can now be safely removed." It can only charge for now when connected. Here are all the steps i have tried to fix it,
*Tried different Usb Port
*Turned on/off debug
*Installed and Updated my Drivers
*Used apps for usb tether
*Reboot, Unmount
I haven't tried to reflash a rom but i dont think that will work. I haven't taken the sd card out and put it in the computer because i lost the micro sd reader. I do think that its the crappy stock sd card that came with the phone might be the problem. Anyone have any suggestions?

SDCard not recognized

I installed cyanogenmod 7.1 with no problems. Everything works fine, it is so much better than WebOS.
When I plug the touchpad into a usb port on any computer (XP, Windows 7, or OSX), they see the tablet as a drive but an unformatted one. I have been tempted to format it, but I figure that will bring me nothing but grief...
I have read everything proposed on this forum and others, like: fixing the permissions, toggling dev mode in webos, manually connecting usb storage. Nothing will get my computers to recognize this as a mass storage device...
Help!

How to Enable OTG?

how do i enable the OTG mode on the Galaxy SII running android 4.0.4 (resurrection remix ICS 1.8 ROM) and i have a kernal that claims its working with OTG ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574672&highlight=otg ) but when i connect my cable and usb stick ( tried other devices) nothing happens! any help would be much appreciated
I just acquired a 'micro-B USB OTG' cable myself (a cheap knock-off from eBay).
As far as USB drives are concerned, I have found that I must insert a USB thumb drive into the cable before inserting the cable into my GS2. Otherwise it will not be recognized.
When inserting the cable + thumb-drive I get these two messages:
"USB connector connected" immediately followed by
"USB Mass storage connected"
and I am able to use the USB drive.
I have successfully been able to connect a 1 GB Kingston DataTraveler II, but - oddly - not a 4GB Kingston DataTraveler. An unmarked 8GB USB drive was also recognized.
I have not been able to connect: a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v.1.0 (not that I need it, but just to see if it would); and neither an HP mouse. For previous versions of Android (before ICS) you can easily find information of users successfully connecting all sorts of things including keyboards, mice, and larger hard drives.
A few other important issues are:
- File format for drives must be FAT32
- Before removing the cable+drive, remember to unmount drives by opening the notification area and click on "USB mass storage connected".
that helped me out.....not what so ever.
what is OTG btw?
On-The-Go, lets you plug in USB devices like mice , keyboards, and usb sticks into your phone like a computer

If the USB is partitioned as FAT32 a nifty notification will show and you can press that and then browse.
However, if the USB is partitioned as NTFS, you should open a file manager with root access (Root Explorer or ES File manager to name a few) and browse to /mnt/ntfs/ and you should see your files there.
Note: Am only assuming this is the mount point, since looking at the kernel you are using, he mentioned gokhan for the USB OTG and I am using his kernel (Siyah)

[Q] USB mode won't turn off!

I'm running AOKP build 35 and I have a new and exciting problem with my vibrant. Upon every boot, my internal sd is mounted as "USB Storage." If I plug a usb cable in, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes it displays "disconnect usb" or similar. I've rebooted with usb cable in, usb cable out, nothing. Selecting "disconnect usb storage" does nothing. I can't seem to get it to work!
I tried a recent AOKP. I don't use an sdcard, and it would not use the internal sdcard, so no taking pictures, downloading, etc. I even tried mount -bind and symlink tricks, then went back to CM7 for the time being.
Didn't have any problems with CM9 or ICSSGS.
